Amen.  I use the App for it.  Frankly, I am not impressed with their Eagles beat reporter.  His articles seem farmed from other beats that I get for free.  But Nguyen’s articles (his on why the Brotherly Shove shouldn’t be banned should be required reading for Goodell) and Dane’s Beast have kept me a subscriber.

It's 2 weeks before the draft and I wish I was more excited. This is just a bad draft class.

A bad draft but isn't a massive drop off at a certain point in the first round so should get a quality player.

Jeremiah called it a 'starter' draft.  So, while the very top end talent doesn't seem to be there... there should be some solid players throughout.   Just the kind of draft that this team needs after losing a number of quality, but not spectacular, players to free agency.  DJ said that teams should look to come away with 3 or 4 starters which tells me there is depth to this draft and they just need to dig around to find them.   Hopefully the Eagles can keep the hits coming that they've had in recent years drafting.  We don't need blue chip studs, but we do need quality pieces to fill in for missing quality pieces.

We're not drafting Mike Green.

Happy Beast Day to those who celebrate.

I tried looking up Beast Day on Google but didn’t get a clear answer.  What is Beast Day?

To flip a player, he needs to prove his worth with playing time. You're better off flipping a day 2 or day 3 pick for more draft capital than you invested than you are flipping a 1st round pick. But nobody will give you a 1st for a player they already passed on in their own draft if he never sees the field in his first 2 or 3 seasons. The Eagles could literally trade #32 straight across for a 1st round pick next year from a mediocre team. That would be a much safer gamble than drafting a  backup QB with a 1st rd pick in hope of flipping it for a (hopefully) better pick in a few years. Heck, they could probably trade #32 for a 2027 1st and 2nd rd pick if you figure a two year wait is worth it --- which is the minimum wait you would likely do with a QB flip project that works.

I think chances are that over the next two games, given past history, that Sanders would have at least a couple games to start and play.  With the talent the Eagles have chances are he could look good and then a QB desperate team that might have had hesitations on drafting him but whatever alternative path they selected didn't work out would then be willing to trade a first.

Only. "Bad” at the very Top 10.  As has been said before it is 🍐 shaped … thin at the top and wider than usual in the middle.  Some of the radio talking heads are calling it a "starters draft” because the number of players who end up as starters in the NFL will be greater than usual.

I agree. Josiah Stewart projects better than Green.  However, there hasn’t been any report of Josiah being one of the 30 visits thus far.

Some of his posts are such obvious trolling it makes a person shake their head.  Either that, or he's 9 years-old.

How is that trolling?  There was speculation the Vikings would be able to flip JJ McCarthy for a 1dt if they decided to stick eoth Darbold instead and not only did he not play as a rookie but is coming off of a blown knee injury.

There are some prospects I'd very much like the Eagles to pick up, which means there's very little chance.  I'd feel very good about this draft if we were to come away with Derrick Harmon at DT, either Helm or Terrance Ferguson at TE, a good OG/C to challenge Steen and provide solid depth, and I read the signings of Uche and Ojulari to mean Howie sees a big need at DE/EDGE.

I'm hoping for two DL who can be starters, another solid OL player, our future TE1, maybe even another LB to hedge against Dean's health.

I don't think Green will be there, but if he is, whether the Eagles draft him depends on what Big Dom could dig up on the legitimacy of the allegations. There seems to oddly be very little discussion about it pre draft. Perhaps his agent has gone to work on the draft pundits to silence it.

Then we trade Jalen and Sanders can back up Tanner.

Actually that second part would be reversed. Tanner would start and Deons kid has to watch the great one and take notes

Already delved right into it.   Word is that the Eagles coaches have done less attending workouts and pro days this year.  Wonder if that had an impact on all the OL visits.   The one position of need that I haven’t seen significantly linked to the Birds is back up C.  I wonder how many of those OTs were asked to snap the ball.  Mbow and Grant, for example.  If Jurgens is still recovering from back surgery, who is snapping in OTAs? Toth? Not much out there as UFAs, all of which should be available post draft.

They may be comfortable with Dickerson backing up Jurgens during the season.  Which may explain them loading up at OG so far.

There shouldn't be a problem finding iOLs to snap the ball during OTAs on day 3 or as a UDFA.

I didn't like what I saw from Gunnar Helm. He looked slow and sluggish.

Seeing us picking Sanders at #32 to swap for a first in a couple years.

A lot of places have him as a 2nd round type pick.  It just doesn't seem like the Eagles have expressed any interest in him.

I saw him mocked a couple time to the Falcons.  They have needed pass rush for the past few seasons and have addressed it by picking Pitts, London, Robinson, and Penix.  So, of course, they will pick one who ends up suspended by the league.
