I'll have to add everything up and see where we are with regard to revenue, but as much as people are willing to pitch in, which is greatly appreciated, I really want everyone to be able to be here without having to dip into their pockets.

If anyone really wants to contribute, like I said, it's greatly appreciated. That helps pay for upgrades and enhancements and such. If everyone would use the Amazon link for every Amazon purchase, I know we'd more than meet our needs. I wish I could use it for my purchases, but that's not allowed, which sucks. But it is what it is.

I hear you.

I think many of us if given the choice, would choose to contribute rather than change the way we are allowed to use the emb on game day.

I get what youre trying to do. But this plan, I do not think is a good one.

Im always willing to chip in a little to the gofundme when needed. Until we eventually get to that point where the board is fully self sustaining. I do see we have slowly grown in membership, with a larger jump since the super bowl.

Without the blog, many of the users here would have no interest in the EMB at all. Im not as willing to change the way myself and many others use interact in this community.

Its more worth paying for when we use it the way we intend to use it.

Piggybacking off of this, I’m willing to chip in if need be.

I will pick up an extra shift at the strip club to keep the Blog open on game days.

What is it about WR that make them so crazy? I can't think of any other position that has that many divas and headcases.

If you were as fast as Tyreek Hill, I bet you would try to get away with stuff too.

How does lack of super stars make it uninteresting?  Picking at #32, the Eagles were never going to get one of the super stars.  Taking the time to imagine one of the super stars in Kelly Green is simply indulging in fantasy.

This is a draft that i won’t be super concerned with having on TV before it starts.  I was hoping that Ward and Sanders were going to continue to do their playful and funny ribbing they had going around the combine, but Ward has settled into watching Sanders self immolate, with his ego that makes Ryan Leaf look humble.  Overall it’s just a bland draft with not much premier talent.  It’s a draft that will help established teams fill holes, but the bottom feeders grasping at straws.  It’s not a bad thing…it’s just not the normal ‘must watch TV’ it usually is.

Why would that matter to me? Under normal circumstances, it wouldn't. But it could bring guests to the board and guests see ads. Guests seeing ads brings the board revenue. Board revenue pays the bills. So I'm always looking at that aspect, because if I don't, then my credit card pays the boards bills and I prefer eating to paying the boards bills on my credit card  lol

Let us know when this happens and folks will chip in.  There's no reason for you to foot the bills.  You do far too much already for no compensation.  There's no reason you should be paying on top of that.

My point was that the number of picks in '25 and '26 are what out numbers the available roster spots, not that this year they couldn't fit the 6 players that they have the picks for.  I probably could have worded that better.  '25 has 6 picks, which isn't that many, but '26 projects to be 11 draft picks.  I don't see that as a viable number, so you use the extra picks in '26 to move up in '25 and get better players rather than more players.

Make good sense to use the extra picks to move up if a targeted player is within reach.  At the current roster make-up, we need quality more than quantity.

That's ok, they're not for everyone. But if we get 100 guests that want to read about Super Bowl LII or LIX or LX, we want them to be able to do so because hat brings revenue to the board.

Agreed, and I think there is a place for the Gameday threads, but the Blog on Gameday is a kinder, gentler version of the Gameday thread.  Much less angst, and much less volume to wade through.  I can see closing all the threads other than the Gameday and Blog threads, but it is worth considering that the EMB audience is not monolithic.

I have never seen any Draft as "must watch TV" and I have no sympathy for the bottomfeeders.  Let them do what they do best ... self destruct.

We are in agreement.  I support that approach as well.

With that said, a look at the current roster/depth chart shows plenty of opportunity to upgrade positions

QB3 could be upgraded, or at least have some competition for DT-R

RB3 could be upgraded

WR4 and 5 can both be upgraded.

A TE1 is needed … might be Goedert

Developmental OT can be drafted

Backup OC is needed

The battle for Edge4 and 5 needs competition

DT depth is needed

ILB needs one more depth/insurance player

CB2 needs competition

Safety needs competition

Howie isn’t going to address all of those in the Draft, but they are all opportunities for improvement.

Defensive Line... this is where I feel the need to drop the assets.
EDGE is a hole.  We have Smith and we have Hunt.  As I view it, that's it.  Sure, there's the pipe dream that Huff can offer something, but this is a guy that got 1 snap in the Wild Card round against the Packers, 0 snaps in the NFC Divisional round against the Rams, 12 snaps in a blowout in the NFC CG against Washington, and then was a healthy scratch for the Super Bowl.   I have zero expectations for him moving forward.  Then there are the lottery tickets - Josh Uche and Azeez Ojulari.  Uche was a healthy scratch down the stretch after the Chiefs traded for him.  A few years ago for the Patriots, he put up big numbers... once.  Ojulari is a Georgia guy, and maybe he can find some mojo surrounded by other Bulldogs, but I don't see either one as a guy we can really rely on, and even if they break out and shock everyone, they are both on one year deals and would be extremely expensive to resign if they show out.  So, they still need some young depth guys.  Uche and Ojulari are both still relatively young, so they could come back at 'reasonable' numbers if they are assets, but if they show out too much, their price tag will sky rocket.

DT again needs talent.  We lost our second best DT.  Can Ojomo stay as productive as he was this past season with more snaps?  Hard to know.  Even so, they need to replace the snaps he got if he takes on the snaps that Williams got.  So, they need more bodies at DT, for all the same reasons as DE.  The Super Bowl really was won by the DL.  They dominated like no other unit I've ever witnessed in a Super Bowl.  They were the MVPs.

The good news is that DE and DT seem to be the strength of this draft.  So, this is the year to invest in them... and best of all in drafting is where value and need align.  This is the year to target the DL again.   None of the other positions meet that criteria to a "T" like this.   Granted, you can find that one guy at a weaker position sometimes, but that will be far harder.

All the other positions have someone in place in some way or another.  But, the number that fits for me is about 5 or maybe 6 rookies on this team.

For me, the entertainment value is seeing the awful picks the awful organizations make.  The Eagles may not even make a pick on Night 1 this year

Thanks, so far I haven't had to come out of pocket, at least not that comes to mind. If I did, it would have been small... small enough that I didn't even think twice about it and have now forgotten about it lol.

Still crazy to me nothing has changed hands at all in the first round. Every team still has it's original pick.

With the Eagles, my best guess is Eagles trade up. No idea for who, but with the way the draft is shaking out I think this is going to be one of the years it's not going to cost as much as usual to trade up. Howie will exploit that, especially having 19 picks over the next two years.

If there's some sort of 'perk' than can be provided for a small amount, I could set up a Patreon page but I don't know what 'perks' I could provide that would be worth a monthly 'subscription'.

THis alters the draft

$100 and we get to bring back one banned member.

Please.  BaltimoreBob has been out in the cold for way too long

One guy's opinion on CB rankings. To me, the video was interesting because its the only in depth analysis I have heard on Jacob Parish who the eagles had for a visit.

Solak mentioned him the other day. Loves him.

WR depth. Not a bad flier.
