Watching the Phillies game, WTF is this Jardiance diabetes medication commercial? Why is every, single medication commercial a musical? Can we please for all that is good, get rid of all of these medications?

I know I go around singing about my blood pressure medicine all the time.  Don’t you?

It went like

*Some random person got a degloved injury*

Poster 1: "man that’s a really gross injury”

Poster 2: "I’ve seen a degloved P, and it’s one of the worst things you could ever see. Trust me, don’t google it.”

Me: *Immediately googled it in private mode*

I agree... but I am a guy who prefers the pick of the litter, rather than the leftovers.  Last year, we had the choice of Terrion Arnold and Quinyon Mitchell, a lot of people had them as being at the same level... some had Mitchell higher, others had Arnold.  The temptation might be there to trade down a couple of spots and take whichever one was left on the board especially with how much they liked DeJean as well.  I'm extremely happy that the Eagles didn't make that deal and they took the guy that they had ranked higher... and then managed to make the trade to land DeJean as well.  ;)

There are rather sophisticated gaming programs that can help you to scientifically/mathematically optimize the value yield of your decision … most frequently used in optimizing stock trading decisions.  However, the Draft is just as much Art as it is Science.  Value is highly subjective.  So your Arnold vs. Mitchell decision really does boil down to an educated guess.

The complicating factor is that unless you either trade down one spot, or you know the team you are trading with has a specific player in mind, then you risk losing both Arnold and Mitchell.  So if the only players on your Board are in the same position, I agree either way you … pull the trigger.  However, more often than not your Board is larger than two players and the number of positions is more than one.  For example if the Board has Walter Nolen. Donovan Ezeiruaku and Malaki Starks then the risks associated with trading down are significantly mitigated.

Welp we all now know that we can get LGM to Google anything by just saying it out loud. Do with that information what you will internet strangers.

Howie is going to do what Howie does but I think it is flawed thinking that the Eagles have more picks than spots.   They have 8 this year.  They lost twelve players that were on the Super Bowl roster.  Yes, Howie signed a slew of players in free agency but all to one year deals and cheap contracts so quite possibly all can be improved on. Further there are twenty UFAs next year and five RFAs.  So if they draft eight players this year, conceivably all eight might make the roster.  Only 26 players are signed past next year.  So the assumption that 19 picks is too many isn’t accurate. Especially as some may be parlayed to 2027 picks. Further, I don’t see the Eagles as active in free agency next year either.

I agree with this logic 100%

Exercise and proper diet.

That will solve or mitigate most of these issues without needing a pill or injection to lower blood sugar or lose weight.

Jardiance, Ozempic, Mounjaro come with a host of side effects. While the one I posted is rare (1% chance would still not be worth risking), pancreatitis, gastroparesis, and gall bladder problems appear to be increasingly common with those drugs.

Why jeopardize your health with that crap?

Blows my mind.

Put down the fork, face.

And get off your ass.

VA doesnt want to ask for it so hes thinking of alternatives. Honestly, asking it is probably the quickest and easiest thing. It doesnt take everyone, and a lot of people are willing and wont mind being asked. It wont take a lot considering that other money is coming in. He hasnt asked for anything in years. Its not overbearing.

The board will also continue to grow without locking the blog on game days. It is truly not necessary.

Fair enough. I do tend to post at halftime, sometimes, although with my habit of delaying the start and using the DVR so I can miss commercials, halftime for me is quite possibly the third quarter live.  I agree that I would rather just make a donation.   I wasn’t proposing locking the Blog but I also don’t see an issue with posting the "Saquon”, "that’s DPI”, "nice catch” etc. in the GameDay thread either.  And let’s face it, some of the Sunday tourists in the Blog might well fit better in the GameDay thread.

I am surprised a bit that you protest as you are the one consistently telling us not to post during the game because you are working some kiddie soccer game.

Ive never once though anyone would take those "dont post" posts seriously. Always laughed when someone would react like I was really expecting that.

On those days I have the game recorded. I come in here and either scroll in sync with where Im at in the game. Or, if its a loss that I dont feel like watching on DVR I will scroll through the entire thread (albeit very quickly). Thats typically like 80+ pages.

Ill never once check the game day thread.

Eagles meeting with Scourton today and tomorrow.

Terrance Marshall Jr. will probably get cut...and might stick on the PS...but he's kind of a fun flier.

He probably isn't very good at professional football, but throwing his numbers up on a screen looks great.  24, 6'2", 4.3, 40"

Ouch. In my baby days as a claim adjuster in Texas, they trained me on all lines of insurance including Worker’s Compensation.  In Texas in those days, an injured worker could get an award of "lost earning capacity”.  I had a claim where a worker was using a power drill and locked the trigger.  He dropped the drill at one point and it caught on his pants leg and traveled upwards wrapping the pants leg and then his third leg around the bit.  Similar type of injury. The lawyer called about settling the claim.  He pointed out how that would impact his sex life.  I countered that had nothing to do with employment or his wage earning capacity unless he was a gigolo. The attorney and I went back and forth and eventually worked out a deal but nothing I could have offered would be worth having that injury. Haven’t used the trigger lock on a power tool since.

Degloving injuries are horrible.

Loved him coning out of the draft. You are correct that he probably won't even make the team but he's a very worthwhile dart throw and it wouldn't exactly shock me if he beats out Smith and/or Wilson for a spot.

Need some input/ideas for a draft game me and a few buddies do every year. I am looking at potential trade up and trade down targets with the 32nd pick. So far I have the following with my thought process:

Trade up to 24 with Minnesota only has 4 picks

Trade down to 34 with the NYG - They might overpay to get a QB with a 5th year option

Trade down to 40 with Nw Orleans - They might overpay to get a QB with a 5th year option (althought I', starting to think they take Sanders at 9)

Trade down to 50 with Seattle - They might overpay to get a QB with a 5th year option, they have a bunch of picks including 50, 52, 82, and 92

Thoughts?

When you watch that and listen to them talk about Cam'ron Jackson it really makes you question- do you take this guy in round 4 on a 4th round rookie contract and play him 20 snaps a game on run downs and be thrilled with that production? Or do you pay Jordan Davis 13M a year and play him 20 snaps a game and get run down production and feel you are overpaying a guy who hasnt quite lived up to his pick 13 trade up cost.

We can indeed raise the needed money and many of us have already donated without being asked.  It is a lot like tipping at a restaurant.  If you had a good dining experience … got good value … the thought of not adding something for the person who gave you good service would never cross your mind.

Give me Nolen or Scourton @ 32 and Swinson, J. Stewart , D. Alexander, or Norman-Lott @ 64.

If that happens, everything else will be icing on the cake.

Use some of those RD5 picks to trade up in RD3 and/or RD4.

Plan Parade in February 2026.

Scourton is only turning 20 on draft night.

I was just thinking about an hour ago- in the years of these covid extra years of eligibility, how much have the eagles drafted a player who is 23 years old or older? I dont know the answer, but I have a feeling its minimal, if not 0.

Watching this DL video on NFL Stock Exchange, I happened to notice Aaneas Peebles 23.6 years old. And they werent discussing age, and hes not the oldest prospect but it jumped out at me and made me wonder...

We know age often bumps down a grade. But I feel like the eagles have been avoiding it altogether.

Drafts have been full of these guys. And if that holds true it helps you really narrow down eagles targets or at least break ties between two similarly ranked players.

That's a great point. Darius Alexander seems like the type of DT they would love on day two and you also have the Sirianni/Toledo connection but considering he is 25 I don't think they would even consider him unless he fell to day three.
