When it comes to situations like this, teams/coaches/universities/franchises/companies….the primary goal is to minimize liability.

There is liability in keeping a player on the team as allegations swirl…especially if they are found guilty. There is liability in throwing a player off a team and out of a school due to nothing but allegations…especially if they are found innocent.

So I’d imagine there was some smoke there.

It’s not court. It is a job. I am not saying the Eagles should not take him. I’m just saying charges being filed or not isn’t the end of the background check.
