The player I am most interested in pairing Campbell with is Nolan Smith. Smith is one of, maybe the fastest edge in the NFL. Yeah, he’s 40 fast, but we saw last year he flies on the field too.

Ignoring position, the defense now has 2 guys in the box that can get from point A to point B with blinding and explosive quickness. It’s on Vic to figure out where to position them.

Fangio saw Baun moving from Edge to LB. He may see Campbell as a Edge.

I think that's sort of the point. Fangio is all about disguising coverages. With guys like Campbell, Baun, and Hunt who can all drop into coverage and rush the passer, it makes his whole defense extremely difficult to read.

Also incredibly important with so many running QBs in the NFL. You have to have guys who can chase down world class athletes when plays break down and it goes into chaos mode.

I think they added Campbell as an ILB.

Howie is always a step ahead, league goes small and faster on defense to stop the short passing game, Howie signs Barkley.

But he also could see how this will impact defense, teams may move to power run game combined with short passing game.

So you want full size LBs who can cover in space and run sideline to sideline.

Smith - Campbell - Baun - Hunt.

Never have to come off the field, Smith and Hunt can line up as edge rushers in 4-2-5 formation. With DeJean at NCB, this is still effective group against the run.

Good luck with screens and underneath routes against this group of LBs and DBs.

Yea, Trotter has plenty of time and opportunity to prove himself or carve out a roll. I just can’t imagine the coaching staff are that high on him right now though.
