Berman and Wulf confirmed Rodgers was a RFA on yesterday's show.

They didn’t confirm anything, they just said he has RFA status but don’t explain why.

It feels like anyone that says that is just going off what OTC says.

I'm interested to see how this goes for international fans.  The NFL effectively allowed DAZN to beta test their NFL product in Canada before launching it globally.   I personally can't stand the DAZN app because it autoplays game highlights for no reason, the controls are illogical and they often break the app when updating.

But that aside, the quality on DAZN is very good - better than the previous iterations they had and our TV coverage - and I may have had 1 drop the entire time once a stream got started.  Its a great POC for Netflix to follow.

I'm curious how a Netflix situation would impact the local broadcasts.  Currently, for all Eagles games on Thursday Nights, they have been picked up and broadcasted locally on the Fox (IIRC) affiliate in the Philly area.  I wonder if Sunday games on Netflix would also get picked up by a local station.  Personally, I hate the streaming games.  The feeds just aren't that good for me.  (I know, its likely my internet connection @HazletonEagle ). But, I just don't like how it looks when streaming games, and I have no interest in adding another subscription service.   I might end up just being an Eagles fan and start to ignore the NFL if this ever goes through.  One of my biggest buggaboos is the commercials added to these premium streaming services.   If I am paying specifically for something, I shouldn't then also be subjected to ads.  When I watch on broadcast TV, the ads are how I am paying for it.   But, if I am paying out of pocket for the subscription service, I shouldn't also have to pay through the ads as well.  To me, that's double dipping and might be enough to make me tune out on Sundays outside of Eagles games.  As it is now, I really only watch Sunday games, unless the Eagles play on Thursday or Monday.   I'll catch the occasional MNF game, but never tune in on Thursday outside of opening night.  The TNF product is just bad and the NFL needs to fix it.

I don’t get the love affair with Ringo.  His upside is more than likely already reached.  A good ST’r and 1st or 2nd guy off the bench.

He's young, got all the talent in the world and terrific size. He hasn't really been needed yet. They were set last year. They drafted Mitchell this year and Rodgers is no slouch to compete with. He's not a slot CB so he needs a position outside to open up.

I think he might have potential at safety down the road too.

Theres no way to really know because of limited playing time.

The hopefulness comes from the fact that he’s a 6’2” 210 pound corner with 4.36 speed who is a good tackler, displayed excellent ball skills in college and is still only 22 years old.

The age for me can’t be be overemphasized — he’s younger than Mitchell and only a few months older than Cooper. He was an ultra raw prospect to begin with, so his development path is still on schedule from what we know.

The upside with him is enormous, and he hasn’t shown anything to be particularly negative about. Maybe he sucks and the coaches are down on him but there’s no way to know.

What does everyone think the Eagles walk away numbers are for Milton and Sweat?

I think if Milton gets above 22ish then they're a hard out. I think they'd try to make it work if it's in the 18-20 range. I got the sense last offseason they didn't view Sweat in their future plans, but I think they'd be willing to keep him if he's in the 12-14 range, but I think he'll get more.

   If it were true that he had "all the talent in the world", the team wouldn't have seen fit to draft, not 1, but TWO, CBs in the draft last year.   And he WAS needed in the past.   They desperately needed better CB play in 2023.  He was on the roster, and only got 199 snaps, and all but 1 came in the final 5 games of the year, when the defense was a complete farce.  The outside position was available for him at the end of 2023 to take the job and make it his own, but he didn't.   And the team didn't feel he was ready for 2024, which is why they selected Mitchell.  And while Mitchell proved his worth and earned the starting role, Ringo was beaten out by both Mitchell AND Rodgers.

I just don't get why so many people are so high on him, and offer such hyperbole in their takes.  To me, this year is a make or break for Ringo.   Either he steps up and becomes a starter... or he's a career ST ace.  Now, being a ST ace at gunner is very valuable, but that's not what they traded up in the draft to acquire.  If that's all he becomes, he'll be a disappointment... not a bust, but a disappointment.

Spot on friend. Even with good internet services, streaming is never perfect. To add to it, I like to switch between games if there's a commercial. If you're streaming, no such luck. You have to watch the commercials. I'm not closing Netflix, opening up another app, then closing that back out to get in to Netflix. Another example of something we never asked for that makes things less convenient. I hope this doesn't see the light of day, but I'm sure it will.

No doubt, its a make or break year.

I'll say it again. It's not the Hall of Very Good, it's the Hall of Fame. It needs to be more exclusive.

Its far worse than that. MVPs and HoF should mean the same as an EMB poll. Its just some goofballs voting.

Andre Reed going in before Sterling Sharpe is unserious.

  • Reed had large stretches of his career when he was not the best Andre WR and smaller stretches when he was not the best Reed WR

Jim Kelly getting in, let alone first ballot is disgusting (20 TDs 28 picks in the playoffs, 2 HoF level seasons and the rest of his career was mediocre)

Edge? Joe Namath? Drew Pearson?

Give me the statistical or best record or anything that makes Josh Allen a top 3 MVP candidate, let alone winning this year.

Josh Allen led the league in nothing.

  • 8th in passer rating  (Jackson 119.6 Allen 101.4)  Jackson 4th highest of all time, Allen well below Brock Purdy's career rating of 104.9
  • 7th in TD%  (Jackson 8.6 Allen 5.8)  Jackson 6th highest of the SB era, Allen below Brock Purdy's career average of 6.0
  • 6th in INT% (Jackson 4th at 0.8 Allen 1.2)
  • 27th in completion % (Jackson 12th at 66.7 Allen 63.6) League average was 65.3
  • 5th in TD to INT ratio (Jackson 1st at 10.25 Allen 4.67)  Lamar had the 6th best ratio of all time, 3rd best for a full season
  • 4th in total TDs (Jackson 1st with 45 Allen 41)
  • 9th in total yards (Burrow was 1st with 5,119 Jackson 2nd with 5087, Allen with 4269
  • 3rd in ANY/A (Lamar was 1st at 9.38 Allen 7.96) Lamar was 3rd highest of all-time Allen was below Purdy's career average
  • 2nd in sack %
  • 2nd in QB rushing TDs
  • 5th in QB rushing yards (Jackson 1st)

Allen himself was surprised when he won because he knew he did not earn it on the field.

The Bills scored 7 more points on less missed FGs and a safety.

The Bills had 19 rushing TDs not from Allen. The Ravens had had 17 rushing TDs not from Jackson.

The Bills had 1699 rushing yards not from Allen. The Ravens had 2274 rushing yards not from Jackson.

If you think 575 extra rushing yards (17 yards a game) makes up for all the stats above then you should not be eligible to vote for NFL awards.

ESPN had them both tied for QBR but QBR is pretend. They rate plays based on feelings after they know the results. The QBR formula is secret. 🤡

Charlie Batch is the QBR Ultimate Weapon.

I think Williams and Sweat are as good as gone. I don't think they'd get close to those numbers for either.

Hunt and Ojomo will be asked to step up.

I am guessing that one of Milton Williams or Joah Sweat also end up in Detroit.

Slay has talked a hell of a lot about not being on the Eagles next year for still being here.

Pretty likely the Birds can get a quality DT, Edge, or LB at 32 if they choose to pick.

Rotation-wise, there are also some cheaper long-in-the-tooth vets who could be ok for a low snap count.

My view on Ringo is that, as you said, this is his make or break year. I'd argue that when he played in 2023 (after Slay went down) he performed reasonably well, especially for a rookie. This year Rodgers outplayed him, and I think Vic trusted the vet more. If Slay and Rodgers both leave, I think Ringo will need to compete in camp with someone for the CB2 spot.

My personal belief is that Slay will agree to a reduced contract to play his last year in Philly, and Ringo likely takes Rodgers' spot as the first guy off the bench/dime CB.

I don't know why, but I have a sneaky suspicion that we might see Reddick return one a 1 year prove it deal.
