Gotta ask. Why do you misspell Mahomes name like that? You've been doing it for years.

And for us over here, the Netflix games weren't on domestic TV at all. I didn't check DAZN because It was Xmas and the last Wallace and Gromit special was way more interesting, but there were some complaints for us about added costs between TV and DAZN. I'd assume local markets will be ok, but if you are on the west coast (as an example), could likely mean forcing you to take a new subscription out.  Not sure why the NFL want to make it harder to watch their product?

As for commercials, a lot of fans over here lobbied to get DAZN to put on your commercials over an infill because they are entertainingly bad (take this pill, but you may die from the side effects). TBF, Prime shows ads in their Champions League coverage over here TBF

All games are on DAZN regardless of who has the broadcast in the US and that includes the Peacock stuff and the Xmas games.

My experience with the commercials is that we usually get them but sometimes it is just a filler.  Seems random.

I think its when the commercials are national vs local.  Its never made sense as on some feeds, you get local stuff.

   If it were true that he had "all the talent in the world", the team wouldn't have seen fit to draft, not 1, but TWO, CBs in the draft last year.   And he WAS needed in the past.   They desperately needed better CB play in 2023.  He was on the roster, and only got 199 snaps, and all but 1 came in the final 5 games of the year, when the defense was a complete farce.  The outside position was available for him at the end of 2023 to take the job and make it his own, but he didn't.   And the team didn't feel he was ready for 2024, which is why they selected Mitchell.  And while Mitchell proved his worth and earned the starting role, Ringo was beaten out by both Mitchell AND Rodgers.

I just don't get why so many people are so high on him, and offer such hyperbole in their takes.  To me, this year is a make or break for Ringo.   Either he steps up and becomes a starter... or he's a career ST ace.  Now, being a ST ace at gunner is very valuable, but that's not what they traded up in the draft to acquire.  If that's all he becomes, he'll be a disappointment... not a bust, but a disappointment.

Acquiring Mitchell and especially DeJean have nothing to do with Ringo.

Slay is old and the eagles have to make a decision on him this offseason. Rodgers’ contract is up. So just from a roster planning perspective, you needed 2 CBs for the future even if none were expected to start immediately to replace them.

Nickel corner is basically its own position; some guys can play both inside and out, but most can’t because of the skill set necessary. So Cooper was mostly an independent decision to the boundary corner decisions, even if he served as a good option there.

Then, we also had a starting spot open on the outside to start the 2024 season.

So we needed at minimum 1 new starter 3 future starters even with Slay and Rodgers. Ringo is one possible future starter, while Coop and Mitchell represented 2 other future starters.

As far as 2023… Ringo was a 20 year old rookie. Everyone knew he wasn’t NFL ready. If he was a red shirt senior you could read into it, but he was the exact opposite of that type of prospect.

Maybe Ringo isn’t starter quality and is a career depth and a special teamer level player. But Even if the Eagles liked Ringo’s progression, he isn’t a nickel corner, which means he was competing with Mitchell and Rodgers for the open boundary corner spot.

Rodgers is a NFL veteran and proven starting quality corner. Mitchell was a first round pick, is almost a year older than Ringo, and was a high end starter from day one. It makes perfect sense that they would beat Ringo out on a Super Bowl team. That doesn’t necessarily reflect poorly on Ringo.

But like you said, let’s see what happens this year and next. He has 2 years left on his contract.

Yeah, that could be the case.

Just get a Vsee box on Amazon, get every channel/game and never pay anything again.  Used mine in Mexico and New Mexico.  With good internet no problems with buffering

Based on OTC, if Eagles wait til June 1 to trade Huff, they get $4M in cap space this year. That’d be a no brainer.

I like the idea of trading Huff back to the Jets for a conditional 4th rounder. And then signing Reddick for 30 cents on the dollar for a $5M prove it deal. That's Howie-Vision!

In order of importance and what I think we will do:

1. Extend Cam -- we need to lock Cam up to understand what we are dealing with cap wise moving forward. Hopefully something like 4 years, $50-$60mm gets it done wtth $30mm guaranteed. I'd be looking to do this as soon as possible.

2. Try and get Slay to reduce his 2025 option bonus -- per Spotrac, Slay is due $16mm in cash this year, which we can't pay and he'd never get on the open market. Gilmore was 1 year, $7mm with the Vikings. If Slay dropped to $8mm, and it all came from the option bonus, you save ~$1.3mm in cap space for 2025.

3. Make Bradberry a post June 1 cut -- yeah, we're not paying his $16mm non-gteed option bonus. $2.1mm in 2025 savings, $7.7mm in dead cap for 2026.

4. Extend Reed - He's under contract for 2025, but should get it done now before it gets more expensive.

5. Pickup 5th year option on Davis at $12mm - I know this is controversial, but at this price it is worth it and you can punt an extension decision.

6. See if BG wants to come back - he's in Kelce territory and can play as long as he likes.

7. Resign Baun - I still have doubts that Howie will do it, but 3 years/$30mm with ~$20mm gteed seems like a reasonable deal. Had Dean stayed healthy, we'd have more leverage here.

8. Resign Becton - hopefully he does a reasonable deal to come back. I can't see him getting $20mm/year from anyone.

9. Say goodbye to Sweat and Williams - Hunt and Ojomo need to step up, and we need to pray Huff sucks less (he is untradeable and uncuttable)

Of course they hire the guy that received such a glowing praise from Hurts

Disappointed they didn’t interview any external candidates

Dude has no experience. Stupid move. Hurts didn’t seemed too thrilled about him when asked either.

Guys need to stop with this. No one is trading for Huff and paying him $16.75mm in cash for 2025. We are stuck with him.

If Eagles lose Sweat, Williams and Slay on defense, it is doubtful that they are a number 1 type defense next year. If you  lose just Sweat and Slay and keep Baun and Williams you are still in the hunt for that type of defense assuming we keep Baun as well. Also, replacing Graham is now a new need with the depth chart. Just can't see losing Sweat, Slay, Williams and Graham in one fell swoop.

Like I said in a previous post, Baun gets money earmarked for Dean this offseason. And Williams gets money saved from Sweat, Slay, Bradberry and Graham departures. Pretty even swap and salary cap keeps going up.

This is a deep enough draft on the d-line that it is reasonable to look to the draft to replace Sweat and Williams.  I think any DT is going to look pretty good next to Carter.  Ojomo, I think, has played as well as Williams and is better at defending the run.   Keeping Williams would be an overpay.  I would be fine with them working on a way to keep Slay but he had limitations as a tackler this season.  In my view, Baun and CJGJ are much more important than Williams, Sweat and Slay.

Beg to differ on this one. I have Baun as number 1 priority. And Williams and Becton DEFINITELY not in the bottom 3. Like everything else.

Gotta hope we aren't making the same mistakes as we did with having Doug hire an internal replacement.  Heck, even Brian Johnson.

That said, they fact that Spike Eskin is having a meltdown over it calms my concerns.

Well, I lasted 10 days without complaining.

Not interviewing a single outside candidate for the OC job is ridiculous.

I think they knock out the non FAs first - need to know those numbers before you can structure Baun and Becton's contracts. Order of operations is important.

It gets worse.

Yeah, I'd hope something like 3 years, $30-ish gets it done.

how do we know they didn't interview anyone? They don't have to announce it, do they?

Didn't they have to comply with the Rooney Rule?
