So who takes over QB coach now I wonder

Saw someone throw out the idea of Frank Reich, and I like it if he is interested.

Would he be a consultant, so he could collect two paychecks?

He's still getting paid by the Panthers to do nothing. I don't know if just QB coach gets him out of bed.

Mike McCoy was another name.

Have someone in the building that has called plays

Well, I lasted 10 days without complaining.

Not interviewing a single outside candidate for the OC job is ridiculous.

I won't complain about this...

yet.

But, I'm not excited about it, at all.

I'm still a little bit traumatized Jeff McLane just randomly put out there Todd Haley could be a possibility.

I think they knock out the non FAs first - need to know those numbers before you can structure Baun and Becton's contracts. Order of operations is important.

1 - Baun
2 - Jurgens
3 - Blankenship

Then, turn your attention to Becton, Rodgers and Graham.

Baun remains number 1 priority, because I want him locked up YESTERDAY.  Do not let him hit free agency, and you need to know what HE will cost before working out Jurgens and Blankenship.  Once those 3 are taken care of, then you turn your attention to the others.

I say goodbye to Slay.  He's talked too openly about playing elsewhere.  Designate post-June 1 cut him and Bradberry.   But, I might wait to sign Jurgens or Blankenship officially until after June 1, so that I can align whatever money I want to them based on the 'savings' from Slay and Bradberry.  Their money doesn't come off the books until June 1, so that money isn't technically available until then.

And, I'd look to NO to see who I can fleece from them.  They are over the cap... some bargains might be available.  Worth investigating.  They've provided us with some studs over the years:  Malcolm Jenkins, Darren Sproles, Zach Baun, and CJGJ. (Granted, only one was a trade versus FA... but maybe we can get ahead of them and get another bargain. Not sure who to target though.)

He's not QB coach, he's taking Patullo's old job

Whatever.  I sense domination.

Seriously, read through that thread.  They are REALLY f'n stupid.

I read through a bit of it yesterday.  Some comedy gold.

With the caveat that I have no strong opinion on this either way, here's my question for those that are disappointed with the Patullo hire -- is it simply a reaction that because Brian Johnson didn't work, Patullo is a risk as well? Or was it a desire to see some new ideas come in?

Personally, I like the idea of some continuity for Hurts, but I am troubled having an OC with no play calling experience. Even Johnson did it in college. I'd like to see someone like Reich as a consultant, or the QB coach.

Dude has no experience. Stupid move. Hurts didn’t seemed too thrilled about him when asked either.

He's obviously a trash hire.  Season cancelled.

Literally every internal promotion OC or DC has failed for 20 years

I just don't think there was going to be anyone impressive at this point in the season. So some semblance of continuity (even though Moore is gone) is what interests me most.

Don't think with 1 week till the combine is the right time to overhaul the offense with some genius and his brand new scheme.

This is not exciting,  but given the circumstances,  I'm fine with this.

Introducing a "cowards” list for those voicing doubt when down 17-0 would be quite the undertaking here… 🤣

Reading all that 3peat bravado melt away was a good time.

Agree - short of convincing Frank Reich to be the OC, not sure what the better options were.

Welp they screwed up the offseason already. Way to repeat the same mistake you’ve made 3 times already

You were the first person I thought of when I saw the announcement. Reeks of a Sirianni power move, but whatever, hopefully he's not in over his head. We'll have to wait a while to find out either way.

For me, its because I don't like Sirianni's offense.  And this is Sirianni's guy.

They can just have Stout call 60% of the plays.

How to tame the SB buzz 101 would start with hiring Patullo and letting Baun hit FA
