I knew a guy names Parks once.  He was quite possibly the biggest D-bag I've ever had the displeasure of knowing.  What is one supposed to do if their name is Parks?  There's no other path in life.  I'm very nervous about this hire.

I think they should have hired the blog to run the offense.

Step 1 3rd and 16 - Run the tush push with Nick Gates for 15 yards

Step 2 on 4th and 1 - Insert Kenny Pickett in wet/icy conditions and throw a Hail Mary to Johnny Wilson

Step 3 - Super Bowlz

I guess we have an assistant OL coach vacancy… whatever happened to Eugene Chung, did he just quit football?

Totally understand the argument against hiring from within, and made those same arguments years ago in the Doug era.

But with Hurts having a new OC every year, I'm wondering if it actually starts to become a strength rather than a weakness.

He's basically getting exposure to a bunch of different offensive minds without changing teams, so maybe it's not so bad for him to continue progressing into "owning" the offense, given where he is in his career right now.  A lot of those type of journeyman QBs have become NFL coaches for that reason.

Good point. Only counter I'd have is that slow start every year with rust along with not playing starters much in preseason

Saw someone throw out the idea of Frank Reich, and I like it if he is interested.

I threw that out before lol. I said make him passing game coordinator and QB coach

This turned out pretty cool got it from fanatics

Introducing a "cowards” list for those voicing doubt when down 17-0 would be quite the undertaking here… 🤣

Reading all that 3peat bravado melt away was a good time.

At first I thought the "We're down 10-0, we have them right where we want them" mantra was a joke until they started that cowards list

Pretty much. He became the Director of Athletics for a private school in Naples my dad worked for a few years ago. I think he's still there.

I convinced my dad to ask him how he feels about Howie, he wasn't a fan.

The SS United States is finally leaving South Philly . The once proud vessel that used to be the gold standard of the past just rotted in obscurity for almost 30 years. Like the Dallas Cowboys.

With the caveat that I have no strong opinion on this either way, here's my question for those that are disappointed with the Patullo hire -- is it simply a reaction that because Brian Johnson didn't work, Patullo is a risk as well? Or was it a desire to see some new ideas come in?

Personally, I like the idea of some continuity for Hurts, but I am troubled having an OC with no play calling experience. Even Johnson did it in college. I'd like to see someone like Reich as a consultant, or the QB coach.

No play calling experience, and Patullo hasn't been a QB coach since 2016 (with the Jets) and would have been at least 3rd in line in terms of direct contact with Hurts (I assume Moore, Nussmeier and Nick would have all had more direct involvement with him).  I'm not that sure Patullo represents continuity with Hurts as much as he's continuity within NovaCare for a few years.  I still think Hurts needs someone in his ear in a very direct way to get the best out of him.  In the playoffs It appeared Nussmeier was that guy.

The Eagles still have an opening at QB coach; I'll be interested to see who lands that job.  That may end up being the person who works most closely with Hurts.

Yeah, it’s just odd - he apprenticed for years under the best OL coach in the galaxy and just quits.

Joey Bosa likely to be cut

Why didn’t I think of that? We know so much more than they do.

I still like the idea of Reich as senior offensive consultant or QB coach. He had lots to do with just obliterating the top D (Minnesota) and a Belichick D in the Super Bowl. The kid will have an easier job with another smart guy in the room. If not him then maybe someone like McCarthy or even Doug if those bridges are not completely burnt.

Eagles have about $35M cap space from what I am reading after adjustments. Can probably go higher than that depending on other new restructures.

Howie can backload these deals to probably sign all of our key free agents (minus Slay & Sweat) if he really wants to. The first couple years of each contract would be around a $5M cap hit per player for first 2 years on any 4 year deal,  from what I see on recent back loaded contracts. And he's  the king of void years, so I really see us being in pretty decent shape to do exactly what we want unless there are ridiculous offers out of nowhere.

Got Williams at 4/$84M. (McNeil got 4/$97M. If Williams gets any less than this I am pretty happy.)

Got Baun 3/$45M

Got Becton 2/$25M

Can keep all 3 if Howie wants to at these prices from what I am seeing. There's enough tools in his arsenal to make this happen.

Don't be disappointed if Williams leaves.  I doubt the Eagles pay him 20 million a year.

Yes you do.   They believe that no matter what they do, their fan base will follow and pay whatever fees are needed to keep getting the games they are gambling on (partnership with FanDuel, etc.).  They don't believe that the fanbase will have the will power, the gumption or the backbone to say, "Enough!"  So, they will squeeze the Golden Goose to get every bit of revenue they can find.

I already have with TNF.  MNF is slowly migrating out of my life.  If they choose to make Sunday football go to a subscription service... they will have whittled my fandom down to one game a week.   As I've gotten older, its gotten easier to just forget that NFL football is happening on a non-Sunday.

This past season,I reduced my NFL viewing by 90%. Got bored of the product and the endless over hype of certain teams and players. I saw ratings took a small dip and it did not surprise me because of the numerous platforms and how expensive its gotten. The NFL isn't good enough to warrant the time at this moment.

Again, if SF can pay Hargrave at 4/84 at age 30. Then I am happy to pay him that at age 25 two years later. Had dominant stats with 2nd Highest rush grade/pressure rate and top 5 win rate. He and Carter dominate the next 4 years with Ojomo and Davis backing up for 2 years. Signing up for that dominance all day. It's easy decision here. Also, gotta show the defense you are going to pay your own. It's a motivator that you're next in line. Strip sack and recovery and dominant performance on the largest stage did it for me with Williams. Was wavering til that game on him.
