What's with the fake southern accent thing he's doing? Isn't he from out west? Is he trying to an impression of a Texas preacher or something?

I honestly didn't watch it lol I just couldn't remember rstarter. I just remember he was a huge fan of Carr

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

Uche and Dotson should swap. 2 is gross for a WR and 13 is gross for an Edge.

Id say 13 is the number of sacks Uche will have, and 2 is the number of targets Dotson will get on the season.

The selection of APR makes Howie’s job of moving Huff on to another team much easier.

Why anyone needs to respond to any celebrity on social media is baffling to me.

Avid golfers, Obama, Trump and Saquon. I can’t blame the kid at all for golfing with both. If some of the kind of guy Saquon seems to be rubs off on either, both world leaders, that’s great for everyone. This whole cutting people off entirely because of their political positions is bad for all of us. This oversized valuation of social media posters is also a huge distortion of what the reality is.

@HazletonEagle what would you say to bringing in Lan Larison as a TE to the minicamp?

Im confused by the question because I see him listed at 6'0'' 215.

I did see him sign as a UDFA elsewhere. Pretty sure it was a UDFA signing. Which would be better than a camp invite.

Thank you. I thought I remembered getting a future pick but didn't immediately see it while going through the wiki.

In your chart for last year you had the next year picks shaded in green.IMG_9226.jpeg

I looked it up, sounds like the whole family moved to Texas when David was drafted

The value of trading back.

The challenge of drafting non-premium positions (assuming Campbell is actually an ILB)

Thanks for that. I subscribed to his articles in Substack. Looking forward to good analysis stuff.

Shows how bad a huge part of the fanbase is for attacking him on this. He just helped deliver a Super Bowl and one of the all time great individual performance seasons ever and people have been completely vile to him over social media

The world is full of miserable losers whose entire life is spent online, criticizing others in an attempt to make themselves feel relevant.

Isn't the cap hit the biggest issue?

It'll be interesting to see if Williams works out. I get the feeling they didn't really want him that much but at that draft spot they just decided the upside was worth the dart throw.

I was a big fan of Charles Grant from William and Mary but the clear challenge with him was size. He had the height but not the weight and arguably not a frame that could put on the weight, so anchoring when combatting an NFL bull rush rather than a FCS bull rush was the concern. None of the three OTs we added have that problem. They face other challenges, but definitely not that one.

Cam Williams call. Howie was less joyful and more direct on this call than the others.

It is important to talk differently to clay, especially Stoutland University clay.

The entire defense will have to remain disciplined in their assignments, that's for sure. As a unit, they're more small/speedy than big/powerful. It's a passing league, but I'm a tad worried about our ability to hold up against the run.

With Davis and Robinson and Carter in the center of the D-Line, running between the tackles will be tough sledding. If an opponent’s run game is to succeed, it will need to be around the edges, and the speed and reaction traits/skills of the Eagles DEs will make that difficult as well.

The compensatory deadline ends today. We'll see if Eagles make a signing a la Becton. I've been on the Za'Darius Smith train.

Deion really did him no favors

I haven't heard anything about the brother though

I'm not sure about rstarter, I just assumed he was one that didn't come over from the old boards.

I’ve been MIA but still here saying crypto is where it’s at. So far I’m still wrong, time will tell. Hbar, Wagmi, Qanx, GRT. I’ll be back in a couple months with an update.

I usually don’t give a sheet about jersey numbers, but your suggestion is a good one.

No this is football. This a football tradition for the Super Bowl Champion to visit the White House and doesn't have anything to do with politics.

The visit is football … marginally … the furor is politics.

I kind of prefer equities that pay dividends.

It was New England. https://musketfire.com/patriots-sign-notable-udfa-who-is-already-being-compared-to-christian-mccaffrey-01jst8jgzwna

My comment to you was more tongue in cheek. As you point out his size is more Slot Receiver than Tight End.

Macro opinion on this draft.

Howie let CJGJ, Slay, Sweat, Burks and Williams walk, a lot of veteran talent but $60+M in cap hit as well - couldn't pay for everyone.

Then drafts Campbell, Mukuba, Robinson, McWilliams, Mondon and Powell-Ryland

Ojomo, Trotter, Ringo, move up the depth chart.

Overall, the defense is faster, younger, maybe even smarter but less experienced - Fangio has some very good clay, but may need half a season to get this group to jell into an elite unit.

But once it jells, should have a 2-3 year run before they lose major pieces, and the depth to replace them (and a bunch of draft picks next season to maintain that depth).

Offense only lost Becton and Gainwell, with Steen/Keegan and Shipley/Dillon in place as replacements. So little reason to expect a dropoff.

Biggest holes that Howie will address (b/c he always does by the time the season starts): TE, outside CB. But we're talking 3rd TE, 4th CB?

Look for combination of signings, trading a later round 2026 pick and picking up guys off the waiver wire in late August to stash on the PS as veteran depth.

Howie drafted for a combination of athletic upside and guys who have more value to the Eagles than most team.

Mukuba for example, is an undersized safety who wouldn't fit teams that play the FS in more of a run support role, but Fangio likes two deep safeties and Mukuba has great "effective" speed, 4.45 but football smart so he'll out run a fast guy like Cine (4.35) b/c he can read the offense. And he won't be asked to handle a lot of tackling duties, good tackler, but at his size, you want him more as a last resort on the 3rd level than coming into the box and taking a lot of punishment.

McWilliams is a pure nickel, but good depth that allows them to move DeJean around, should be better than the shell of Maddox they fielded last season.

Robinson is probably closed to maxed out, maybe 290-295 as his upper limit, but with great athleticism and plays physical for his size. They're going to use him as a 3-4 DE in base, maybe 4-3 DT on passing downs like Williams, but aren't going to make him take on double teams on a regular basis. With Ojomo, Robinson and Booker, DE is set (could use a real NT, maybe a veteran to stash, as insurance for Davis).

Mondon is small for ILB, and isn't going to set the edge at WOLB in the base defense, so he's a nickel LB for a big nickel that can still cover. Probably make his living on STs.

Nothing earth shattering with these four, but all should be able to contribute as role players as rookies.

Howie gets the Cap hit regardless of whether he keeps Huff or trades him. Before the Draft Huff had a (possible) role as a dedicated pass rusher. Now with APR able to fill that role, there is very little downside risk in trading Huff. Howie and the scouts will be assessing all the other 31 teams to see which ones would benefit from adding a designated pass rusher.
