Situational plays. In a play where you are sure the opposing Offensive Coordinator is going to call a running play, who do you want on the field, Ojomo or Robinson?

Robinson in theory, as MO isn't particularly good against the run - probably save him for passing situations.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

I think he can really play, but interesting nonetheless.

Right, but he was a 4th round pick and also wasn’t a great performer in college.

Sure. He was miscast as a 4i, but that didn’t stop Shermar Stewart going top 20 this week, who had a similar athletic profile minus the devastating knee injury.

But getting back to Campbell I don’t think for one second Howie would spend a 1 on a player he thought was a one contract player.

I (mostly) agree with Iggles_Phan on this. The one exception is CB3. On some teams that is a 40% role. In Fangio’s defensive scheme, and with DeJean as the player, the snaps soar from 40% to 90%, and the first snap of each game sees that role on the field as a starter.

That wouldn't be an exception. That would be a wrinkle between different teams. DeJean played 60% of the snaps, even missing the first 4 games. He's a 'starter'. Meanwhile, our 3rd S played about 24%. He's a backup/role player.

Some teams play 11 personnel a ton, making WR3 a starter rather a role player. Others lean more towards 12 personnel, bringing up the value of TE2. There's no one size fits all breakdown by 'position'. But for me, it comes down to snaps.

Jordan Davis plays an important ROLE on the team. But, he's never gone over 45% (37% last year) of the snaps. And only went over 30% one other time. His role is huge, his contract should not be. Milton Williams played a big role last year as well, but only got 48% of the snaps. Paying him huge money was never on the table in my mind. Jalen Carter, on the other hand, played 79% of the snaps... and was far more impactful than either Davis or Williams. He's a starter, the other two are basically platoon players. Combined the two of them don't even hit 100% of the snaps. And the Eagles showed us just how valuable Davis was. He still played 40% of the snaps in the final throw away game of the year against the Giants... actually a higher percentage of the snaps in that game than his season average (37%). Milton Williams snaps in that game dropped off (28%), whereas Moro Ojomo's went through the roof (83%).

Big news: it seems Les Bowen has joined a black fraternity. Never too old to live your dreams.

By that definition, the only starters:

Hurts, Barkley, Brown, Smith, 5 OL

Carter, Baun, Smith, Mitchell, Blankenship, DeJean, Ringo?

So 16 starters? Maybe Hunt?

Sounds about right. You could likely add another safety to that list when we figure out who that guy will be. And those are the players that you invest your money in. The rest are role players and you rotate through them without investing huge money in them. It's like a platoon situation in baseball. If a guy can only hit right handed pitching, or left-handed pitching, then you don't invest top dollar in that guy.

Same goes for football. If I need a guy like Davis for run downs only, and a guy like Williams for pass downs, then I can't afford to pay them both at a premium, and frankly, shouldn't pay either at a premium.

Given that 30 teams passed on him, there's a real chance he's a 1 contract player.

I think you'll have a very difficult time finding an NFL team that plays their base D 60% of the time.

Well, the definition of 'base' has changed. I'd say that the Eagles' "base" is the nickel now.

The real question is:

Does Secret Service clear Big Dom to visit or does Big Dom clear the Secret Service to be there?

Dom is going to end the war in Ukraine in one day at the white house.

I never thought I'd get to see people at the White House doing an EAGLES chant.

I think it’s one of those trainers, unless it’s Lovato who I couldn’t pick out of a line up.

Call it whatever you want, but the CB3 is playing more than 50% of snaps on every NFL defense these days.

There is a difference regarding the injury discussion.

Sydney Jones recovered from the injury that occurred before the draft. Unfortunately, he proved to be injury prone. Dickerson recovered from the injury that occurred before the draft. He as not shown to be injury prone.

Dean seems to be injury prone. Same with Goedert. If anyone looked to be injury prone when drafted, it was Dickerson.

Jones never really recovered…healthy, i thought he was head and shoulders better than Lattimore as a prospect and the clear #1 CB in that draft. He never athletically got back to what he was and was prone to soft tissue injuries on that same leg.

Dickerson is a freak though, he’s been dinged up a lot but he throws a leather strap in his mouth, grits his teeth and pushes on.

Dean and DG, def have the injury bugs because it’s never the same issue. Deans last one was a freak injury more than him being prone to it.

Too bad Shedeur decline his green room invite. No one would be talking about how long Quinn or Levis had to wait back there anymore

Lost in all this is the character and dedication Sorrell showed….how that isn’t the topic of convo around the NFL is beyond me.

I think there are more plausible explanations for those teams passing: He is an off ball LB (more than likely) on the vast majority of boards, which would put him lower due to positional value. There have been reports that he could start his rookie year on the PUP list. That’s another strike.

But I think the real proof is Howie trying to trade up to 22 for him and saying he was a top 10 player on their board. You can’t convince me that Howie would ever trade up 10 spots in round 1 for a LB who *may* be able to play edge who also has a likely outcome of being a one-contract player.
