Okay. I respect that opinion. But why is that so much better. You now have to fill that hole with a rookie who won't give you much that 1st year and will ride bench. We can use a high pick for a position that plays impact minutes right away. At edge, where there's probably going to be a major need with Graham and Sweat leaving. Rather chase that one first.

It all depends how they project Ojomo.   A rookie can rotate in just like Hunt did at end .  It will a interesting off-season for sure.  This is a good problem to have a lot of good players.

Marty Morninwheg was an internal hire and probably our most successful OC under Reid.

I don’t remember those years being all that great but in any case Reid called the plays and it was his offense so the ‘OC’ under Reid is a caretaker

I wish there would have been a way to save this ship. I know the SS United States Conversation group tried, but it also seems like they wasted a lot of money. It would have taken an enormous investment, but the Queen Mary is quite the tourist destination and hotel now. Sad that the SS America eventually ran aground off the Canary Islands and is rotting away and the United States is going to be sunk.

It is going to go be a hotel in its own right... just not for humans.

Interesting - love his play on the field. Didnt think there was any chance he could fall to us.

Need to look into these character concerns and see if this a Jalen Carter (thank you for letting him fall to us) or Aldon Smith (no thanks) type situation.

This is Milton Williams own words. That's pretty encouraging. Howie pays his peeps. Baun and Williams wont be leaving the building. And Becton as well if I am a betting man. That's my read on this. Screenshot_20250219_165245_Chrome.thumb.jpg.314fa0a42e6bb2ede919ca031614a706.jpg

I didn’t mean the connection, just the timing of his putting that name out there.

Good point - different multiverse.

He was elevated from Defensive Assistant to LB coach after Rivera went on to be DC elsewhere.   So, it was an internal elevation.  Pat Shurmur also moved up from TE coach to QB coach after Childress moved up to OC from QB coach when Dowhower retired.

Once Matt Patricia turned them down for OC it was tough to find someone

The best part is that they would have had all these same problems if they hadn't won the Super Bowl.  But we get these problems after a championship.  :towel:

See this is what we need with respect to Abdul Carter.  :nonono:

Walterfootball actually has league sources? Let me clarify, I read that he spoke to an AFC player personnel director and then the other draft websites picked it up as fact.

Gotta ask. Why do you misspell Mahomes name like that? You've been doing it for years.

It’s deliberate.  (Think Ma hommes, my mind sees mama’s boy). I also spell Chiefs as chefs.  Petty, childish behavior, I am sure.  Started with my spellcheck apparently liking a more French spelling and I stuck with it.  I can’t stand his flag baiting.  Some wideouts do that and I can’t stand that either.  When I was young that sort of 💩 got you laid out on the next play.  Frankly, that is more unsportsmanlike than just about anything on the field.  It really deserves a fine more than shooting an imaginary arrow in sky.  How the competition committee doesn’t see that is beyond me.

There would be a major freakout on Patullo if we had lost the SB

Also don't know how much stock you put into it but Patullo's never had any sniff of interest from other teams. For a team that went to the SB twice in 3 seasons you'd think he would have someone trying to interview him.

Closest thing he got was his agent saying the Saints were super interested in him for OC who never gave him an interview.

Do teams really have interest in pass game coordinators?

We'll see how he does but if the offense does well the next season or 2 then he'll most likely get interest.

Well, I lasted 10 days without complaining.

Not interviewing a single outside candidate for the OC job is ridiculous.

Do we know they didn’t interview anyone?  I think the Rooney rule requires they interview a minority person.  Now, that person might have been Singleton.

a)  he didn't want to name-drop without your permission

b)  he has a very poor memory and doesn't remember you

c)  he was extremely drunk and doesn't remember you

d)  b and c only

e)  all of the above

The painting I was talking about buying never went online yesterday.  It is available as of about 10 minutes ago.  Go get yours.

I was surprised to learn that he’s only my age… I hear him on SiriusXM NFL radio all the time and he sounds like this older veteran coach whose days are behind him now.

I don’t know if any of those rumors are true, or if he still has an interest in coaching… But he does not sound on the radio like I remember him as a coach.  On the radio, he sounds completely mellow and reserved… But I remember him as a hothead. Am I thinking about the right guy, or do I have him confused with someone else?

You know... the sad part is that I can name pretty much every coach that started on Reid's staff in 1999 from memory, and tell you where they went from there and so on... meanwhile, I couldn't tell you the name of the current coaches for LB, DB, TE, RB... I just don't have the same inclination to study that stuff, and at 22... that information just stuck in my mind, and I'll likely know that information on my death bed... meanwhile, I'll likely not recognize my own face in the mirror. .  Crazy how the mind works.

Scheelhaase wasn't even a pass game coordinator at the time, just a pass game specialist. He got a lot of OC interviews.

Nick Caley was PGC for the Rams and is now OC for Houston. Houston also interviewed Brian Johnson one year after being PGC.

Lions new OC was the Broncos PGC.

Jets new OC was the Lions PGC.

That's just this cycle and doesn't include internal promotions like Eagles, Bucs and Browns did.

Might be more of a newer trend but they definitely draw interest. Feels like they overtook QB coach in the hiring hierarchy.

They probably did but if nothing is out there how serious of an interview was it?
