That was the one i questioned. Also him using that they are selling snow is a lousy argument. The eagles also didn’t sell the confetti last time. It was fanatics. So this time they did. Reason? Why let fanatics cash in when they can skip them and cash in themselves on it. The reason they sold snow is because they knew people would buy it. It’s why that same site was created to sell game worn jerseys and less and less going through fanatics

Thank you for clarifying what snow we were talking about, I started thinking Lurie might have made some deals in South America during the Brazil game.

Weird random thing I found with this TE talk.

Someone in the AP voted for TJ Hockenson as Comeback Player of the Year with his 2024 stats of 41 catches, 455 yards, and 0 TD's.

Someone needs their credentials revoked.

Only three 3rd Round picks. They are definitely ratcheting back on the compensation

There was no one after Taylor that would have changed that much and none of the top tight ends were possible in rd 1 or 2 and you weren’t taking Taylor over Campbell

Ferguson and Arroyo both were after Taylor, but your point stands even with those two adjustments. I personally have no problem with what Howie did.

I'm fine with every position on the roster except Edge and maybe RG. That has a chance to be a problem, though I'm just putting my trust in Stout for now.

Are there any fans of any other NFL team who are fine with every position on the roster except two?

I disagree. TEs are one of the positions where you can get value in the later rounds. The Eagles have done that quite a bit over the years. Brent Celek was a great TE here for years as a 5th (or was it 6th) round pick. Before that Chad Lewis was a great TE here as a UDFA. And if you look across the league, 3rd rounders, 4th rounders, all the way to UDFAs have historically been good... and some higher drafted TEs have washed out. TE is one of the few positions left where you don't have to find your guy early, but you can develop a guy later in the draft.

The Tight Ends in this particular Draft that fit your description were few and far between.

I suspect Howie had come to grips with that when he signed Bryant and Granson. Do you think either of them fits your developmental approach?

Baun is already a bargain.

Slander.

The reduction in cash spending now is to reduce the future cap hits that follow. They will need a lot of space to keep the likes of Carter, Smith, Q, Coop, etc. That was pretty obvious as well.

RTK is addicted to slander. It matches his moral fiber.

Where is the money going this year that they need it to the point of opening a big hole on offense? Only option of replacing him would be trading with the Raiders. Let him play it out and get a comp back for him after next year. Keep the offense together.

That works as long as he is not disgruntled.

Andrew Van Ginkel sounds less like a linebacker and more like the guy who critiques wines in a cardigan on YouTube.

No. The cash statement about Lurie.

They will get Carter signed early and push that money down the road.

Tyler Steen is the youngest starter on offense at 24 years old. All but three of the starters on defense are 24 or younger.

I would say next year they should start overhauling the offense. But where? TE obviously. OL of course. But will it be time to invest draft capital at WR? RB?

I'm going to keep beating this dead horse, but the skill position depth is scary. The Eagles are lucky to have arguably 2 top-10 WR, the best RB in the NFL and when healthy a top 10 TE. Behind them, they have nothing, absolutely nothing. I fully expect the next two drafts to be focused on building top end depth at the skill positions.

Doesn't explain selling part of the team and a desperate cash grab like selling snow.

The NFL is encouraging the teams to sell minor stakes in the teams to private equity sources. They even changed the rules to facilitate those kinds of sales. You are once again talking through your hat and slandering Lurie in the process.

I think I heard Matt Rhule gives certain players single digits like a badge of honor.

The Eagles have become victims of their own success. Except for Huff I would argue that they're not overpaying anybody. The problem is, they have too many really good players.

At Nebraska Rhule gives out single digit numbers to the 10 toughest players on the team as voted on by their teammates.

Good problem to have I'd say. It's why Howie gets the big bux.

Yup, described Maxen Hook as playing the monster back position - not sure if that is another type of rover.

That may have to do with estate planning, he wants to leave the team to his son but there will be a sizeable inheritance tax hit.

Not to mention capital gains. I'm guessing Lurie doesn't go to H&R Block on this one.
