A lot of money to pay for a rotational interior DL that was getting out snapped by Ojomo, but whatever. At least he's providing more of an impact than Huff.

The justifications people use for a player that had a small amount of snaps only to decrease even more over the season is funny

I always forget Huff is on the team. Another waste

He's really good in College Football 25(I don't actually play sports games, I only bought it recently because it was on sale on Amazon for $5 so I said what the hell and decided to play as UNC for some reason).

I like him as a UDFA and hopefully practice squad guy. Decent pass rusher but I think he needs to get stronger.

It’s pretty funny that Baun is making like $17M a year as an all-pro LB who is the skeleton key to the Fangio defense, and Davis getting $13M to play a quarter of the snaps.

So I mentioned Michael Silver’s story inside the Jags draft room…

So the new GM made 31 laminated cards of players he really wanted to draft. He made nine picks and eight of them were among the 31. He apparently wanted to draft RJ Harvey at the top of round 3. Down wanted to trade up to get him and he decided to sit back and rely on the board. He also correctly predicted the Rams taking Terrance Ferguson in round 2.

I remember reading a book about the draft. Rich McKay was the GM of Atlanta at the time, and predraft he correctly predicted more than half of the draft picks they ended up making.

What’s the point of all this? I don’t really know. I just find the whole process fascinating and love to see the innerworkings.

True. But KC stacked the LOS, leaving the receivers 1 on 1. That was a big part of Barkley’s impact on the game.

To be fair, that was KC's gameplan two super bowls ago as well, and Jalen burned them all game. They shut down the RB's in that game as well, and Jalen ran/threw all over them. The only reason they won that first game is because of the crappy field. Hurts should have 2 SB wins, lol.

The reality of positional value. Saquon was getting 13m$ a year to set the nfl record for rushing yards in a regular season + postseason, while Bryce Huff was getting 17m$ a year to be inactive

Jordan Davis has 2 years to show he deserves an extension. If he doesn't have it by the end of this year, then you can feel comfortable with him being on an expiring contract in 2026 AND you know you can give away his allocated extension money to Carter and Nolan Smith.

I think it is more of a combo of the importance of his role in the Fangio D despite the number of snaps combined with the desire to not disrupt the Georgia thing. More snaps and more pass rush is just the icing should it happen.

I REALLY hope it's much more of the former and basically NONE of the latter. We can't afford $13M for one season for a guy to be a 'good influence' on a player. That in essence increases the price of that first player AND locks up a roster spot. So, I REALLY hope its much more about his role and maybe 1% about his UGA affiliation.

I am assuming he means invited not visited. You should do an analysis for your top 100 players based on the videogame every year.

Re: Mukuba. He was the best zone safety in the draft. The problem is that he's small. Well, we have monsters on the DL and just drafted a big ILB on top of it. Our slot CB is also very big for his position. Our two starting CBs are well-above average in size.

For a heavy zone team and one that can stop the run with 6-7 players, Mukuba is a great fit. If Drew has to make 5-10 tackles a game, then we're dead anyway.

This narrative needs to stop. Budda Baker was small. Brian Branch was small and timed slow. Dax Hill was small. Those guys were all consensus top 2 round prospects, Mukuba was not.

If he's away at college then it'd be wise to not come home for the holidays lol

You set a high bar, sir.

https://www.mockdraftable.com/ - Numbers
Mukuba: 186 lbs

Budda Baker: 195 lbs
Branch: 190 lbs
Hill: 191 lbs

Mukuba the lightest of already a light bunch.

Branch plays in the slot a ton. Hill too. They don't play post safety.

I see that Tez Johnson got drafted - Mukuba has like 30lbs+ on that guy.

The Eagles were comfortable picking Carter in the draft because of the Georgia ecosystem he was joining. He is the most impactful player on the team.

The concept of overpaying a million or two to keep the likes of Davis and Dean around to ensure that your most valuable asset on defense stays in line isn't a horrible decision.

For Mike it is. Nothing will change that.

Not entirely. They are out $100k because Jeff Ulbrich didn't secure personal information. Granted his son shouldn't have done what he did with it, but at the same time, if Jeff takes care to keep it secure, its a moot point.

Ole Miss is $50k a year out-of-state. He's coming home to enroll at community college.

Ole Miss is 50K per year?

Talk about a waste of money...
