Ok, a good post. I'll copy each section separately and address them one by one.

Ugh, please don’t. We don’t care. Go back to making crappy Ikea meatballs or whatever it is you do.

Don't get offended by what I'm about to say until you read my entire post...

I think what I just quoted from you is total BS. There is nothing wrong with taking principled stands on policy issues. That's how normal debate/discourse works. I have ZERO problems with pro-life, anti-abortion zealots as human beings or how they came to stand on their moral high ground. I probably don't agree with them (most of the time) but I at least accept that they have a certain belief structure and they will die on that principled hill and I have some minimal amount of respect for that. You can disagree with woke culture or BLM, think they're misinformed, or even protest against the very nature of their core belief. But the fact is that the vast majority aren't blindly following a person. They've aligned themselves to what was, at one point, I believe a righteous cause of equality for everyone. They've taken a principled stance on what they believe is right. Social media and group think have clearly taken hold of the movement and a lot of them have lost their way. But every single one of them are trying to stand up for a personal belief. These people can be debated and reasoned with. You may not be able to change their minds and they might make fools of themselves attempting to vocalize a movement they really don't know enough about. But they can at least be talked to.

Now juxtapose that with MAGA, who CLEARLY demonstrate that they have zero principled beliefs at all outside of an unquestioned, undying loyalty to one person who they pray to and worship as a god. As such, they float and switch course with every change in wind direction emanating from their orange messiah. They can't be debated or reasoned with because they can't help but contradict themselves every 30 seconds because they have no moral/principled north star. In addition, they'll feel duty bound to attack you personally for disagreeing with them because their entire human experience has been married to their cult worship of Donald Trump and their personal MAGA religion doesn't allow for dissenting thought.

So going back to you always both sidesing every single topic you participate in, which you do, I don't know what you're trying to accomplish. There's nothing wrong with taking a principled stand on your beliefs. I'd understand you more if I had any sort of evidence that you believe in anything other than this idea of "anyone who believes in anything is an idiot because everyone is wrong except me... who will never actually take a stand on any issue". I don't know if that's you as a person, but that's basically the entire observable existence of Dr. Philly here in CVON and why we do a collective eye roll every time you come charging into a topic shitting on EVERYONE while seemingly elevating yourself above any attempt at debate.

I'll leave it here... I agree with 90% of what you post on here and I like you as a poster. The other 10% is nauseating and I can't even remotely understand the place it comes from.

That bolded part sounds like everyone in cvon...

I don't think that's a fair statement. I generally don't crap on or elevate myself above non-MAGA people. I've had some non-MAGA folks come into a thread where I'm way over my skis talking about something I don't know enough about and knock me down a peg or ten. I try to stay open and willing to have an intellectually honest debate based on facts and not "TRUUUUMP MAGA duh bomb huuurr duuurrr librals huuurrr durrrr lamestreet media!!!"

But in your defense it's mostly just MAGA vs. non-MAGA in here so almost every topic devolves into buffoonery from both crowds brigading the other... which is always inevitable when the vocabulary of one side is limited to "trump, MAGA, lamestreet media, deep state, jewish space lasers, hunter biden, pedo cabal, let's go brandon, michelle obama is a man, and joe biden is a clone".

i agree that they all should get the stink eye.

now that we have tossed your 2nd deflection aside, who is the current potus (oh and a former) and what is your opinion and him covering this up considering the strong possibility that he was a client?

can you bring yourself to calling this out for what it is, or are you going to continue to defend a pedophile with deflection?

I think the thing preventing the release by the Trump admin is the same thing that prevented the release from every other admin. Too many important powerful people are implicated.

The biggest faux pas on the part of the Trump admin was promising a release, only to do a 180 six months into the second term.

Whoa. Rational post good job!

I too believe we will never see anything. Anyone associated with the dead vile scum whether or not THEY did anything wrong will be ruined. Sad to know what the powerful people have on this case have now chosen to shove it under the rug. No justice.

the Epstein charges & "suicide " happened during cheeto’s first term….so "every other admin” doesn’t go back very far.

I still think the suicide conspiracy at the most was really just Epstein greasing the palms of some guards to give him the means and time to kill himself. I really don't see any evidence for it to be more complicated than that.

oh i think the info goes back to '08 when epstein got that sweet work release deal.

I think the left tends to overthink talking and reasoning because Aaron Sorkin poisoned their minds and made them think politics exists as Jed Bartlett practiced it. It took until MAGA for them to realize that there's just no talking to some people. (There's a lot on the left that can't be reasoned with, either. The bigger problem with MAGA is that they're nationalizing their idiocy and turning the whole place into an ishhole. At least the leftists had the good decency to just do that to their own cities.)

It's rather simple when comparing the far left loons to MAGA -- the far left loons are wedded to a ridiculous, insane and completely infantile view of the world and a set of principles that is terrible. MAGA, on the other hand, is subservient to one man and whatever he says with no principles of any kind. Trump could come out tomorrow and propose Medicare for all, and MAGA would cheer. He could propose mass amnesty (more than just farm workers), and MAGA would celebrate it.

One side is wedded to terrible policy, but at lease they are intellectually consistent in being disastrously wrong. The other side is simply in a cult.

It's the most reasonable explanation. If I was forced to adopt a mild conspiracy theory it would probably revolve around someone else greasing palms to allow Epstein to kill himself. Who that would be, I have no idea. But they'd have to be someone Epstein would think has the power to get to him in prison if he didn't do it himself.

There's basically no issue other than maybe things like legalization of drugs and prostitution where I would find agreement with the far left. The economic theories espoused by the AOCs and Mamdani's of the world are abhorrent and basically require applying a kindergarten level of logic to economic problems (everyone should just be nice and share!). But there are at least policy principles they hold true, even if those principles are laughably naïve. MAGA, on the other hand, has zero principles or convictions other than Dear Leader is omniscient. As a Libertarian, what this administration is doing to norms, due process, and the use of government as a tool of revenge (see the Paramount settlement) is insulting to everything that makes America great.

But I've basically reached the point of not giving a F anymore. After Trump we'll get some far left loon, and then we'll swing back to some MAGA authoritarian BS. The country is beyond saving, and the great American experiment is doomed to failure.

Make as much money as you can, have as much fun as you can, and hope there's something after this. But enjoy it like crazy in case there isn't.

Are you telling me I'm delusional for thinking Annette Benning isn't going to be able to convince lynched that Trump doesn't have his best intentions at heart?

Going to Vegas next weekend, then training camp in early August, then off to 2 weeks in South Africa and safari 2nd half of August. Enjoy it before President AOC confiscates everything I own.
