Yeah I've had some liberal friends disappear from my life because I basically responded to anything they sent me (the last one being a link to an article about Trump and tech bros stealing the election) with a simple "I'm tired of carrying water for people who should know better. Whatever happens, happens." We deserve, and quite frankly we need people to feel the effects of not taking their vote seriously enough. The one truth I do know is the more a MAGA hears someone disagree with them, the more they retreat into their hole. I'm not helping anyone by throwing insults or fighting the good fight. So I've stopped completely.

Or maybe I'm the idiot and Donald Trump really does have all the answers to the world's problems. At this point all any rational/normal person can do is position themselves favorably in a world where they'll likely be orders of magnitude smarter than most others around them since we seem to keep getting dumber with every generation. Either the masses are going to wake up from their stupor or they won't, in which case I'm good sitting above it all.

I think it depends on how closely we mirror the last Gilded Age, because I’m pretty sure we are repeating that era of American history.

Realistically I see social media as modern day yellow journalism, and while politics today is abhorrent, it’s nowhere near as bad as it was at the end of the 19th Century.

My biggest fear isn’t where politics is headed. Given that we are abandoning our place in the world, there’s going to be another World War. It’s an inevitably at this point.

At least the last time we as a nation went though a time like this, we got Teddy Roosevelt out of it. Maybe we will get lucky again.
