I wish they would. Frankly there’s things they’ve done that made it harder for people to watch and the stupid kickoff rule. But he’s making owners a ton of money and they seemingly are mostly in for of what he’s doing.

They aren't making money BECAUSE of him,, much more in spite of him, IMO. He's no Pete Rozelle or even Paul Tagliabue. Those guys made the NFL into what it is today. Goodell is just a guy who stepped into a job that he couldn't screw up... and screwed it up.

So these morons are going to let multi-million dollar athletes tied to billion dollar teams put themselves at risk (Embid) yet the Tush Push is causing injuries everywhere? I would hate to see an Eagle injured but I hope every NFL player that plays in that gets hurt and the NFL gets completely humiliated by letting them play.

Idk. With NFL players on the team it's going to be ugly for other countries. It's going to look like the 92 dream team in basketball destroying all the competition.

Should let college players that maybe didn't make the NFL play in the Olympics instead.

Blocking isn’t allowed in flag football. Basically, you can cross your arms and stand in the way. Dumb idea for any active player to play in the game.

How are the Phillies in 1st place? It sure doesn't feel like they are in 1st place.

By having a better record than anyone else.

Ultimately, its because they are truly (finally) beating up on the weak teams that they are matched up against.

They have a losing record against the Mets (0-3), the Braves (1-2) and the Cardinals (2-4), but they have a 0.500 or better record against literally everyone else they've played, including the Dodgers (2-1).

They've played a number of teams with winning records, and have a winning record against them... the Cubs (2-1), Dodgers (2-1), Dbacks (2-1), Guardians (2-1)... and have a 0.500 record against the Giants. That's pretty good.

I'm not sure why you quoted me with this... but I have zero interest in Olympic Flag football.

Equally, if we are going to participate, send the best. That's what the Olympics are supposed to be. We did the college players going to the Olympics with basketball in the past, and the world decided to act like they'd done something when they beat the college kids. But, the Dream Team is the last time that I actually watched Olympic basketball. It was the greatest display of how to play basketball I've ever seen. It was awe inspiring. Since then, I haven't cared about the Olympic basketball scene at all. And I won't care about Olympic flag football either... just like I've never tuned in to the Pro Bowl flag football either.

Now... Olympic curling! Now we are talking amazing sports drama! (No joke there... its great!!!)

Howie is not infallible but he’s not stupid.

As with many things... the truth is always in the middle. Howie has done some amazing things... at the same time, he's done some amazingly stupid things. He isn't beyond criticism. But at the same time, he's done far more right than wrong in recent years. His draft history has taken a HUGE uptick in the last 3 years. We are hoping that he makes it 4 in a row. But, prior to these last 3 years, his drafting was, at best, middle of the road. He had some hits, he had some whiffs... big whiffs. Hopefully he's figured out how to crack the code and hacked the process... and hopefully with Douglas back in the fold, whatever magic sauce he's found remains.

But, when you lose talent evaluators, you need to replenish the stock. They know Douglas and for Howie to bring him back would definitely indicate that their relationship wasn't nearly as contentious as some tried to portray it.

It's in the mold of getting a bigger global market. They need these players to get exposure to these foreign markets, AND introduce the game (even the shadow of the game that flag football is) to foreign markets. They want to get inroads to the global markets... and any losses that individual teams may suffer due to their participation in the Olympics will ultimately be made up for when the bigger markets open up... and the draft lottery ping pong balls will make up for it. Because, the trend of bad decisions they are making surely points to adding that to the list of bad decisions.

Nah. He's not the worst GM in the history of the league. He's not the best GM in the history of the league. He's somewhere in the middle... that doesn't mean dead center, but it means not at the extremes that many folks want to paint.

It certainly applies but there has been a progression away from the middle so what once applies does less so now. The progression towards more picks is better is an example of that.

Its likely a pendulum of sorts

Exploit inefficiencies but they’re transient as peers mimic the approach

I was just thinking over the weekend 'how is he still going at his age and size?' That episode where he was the corporate killer who has to fire people was a classic. RIP

How many teams can we send? I want to see 3 US flags going up.

I have no idea what this poorly worded tweet is supposed to mean

Basketball was always one. So, my guess is... one.

I figured as much but only because I know the Chairman of the Competition Committee already went on record saying no one likes the play and it’s dumb. But if I were a casual I would have no idea if that meant they were in favor of the play or in favor of banning the play.

Oh, her tweet said nothing... but that was the meaning.

Adding games and whoring then out to 50 different streaming services seems to be making the owners more money and that's Goodell's doing.

Sorry I quoted you by accident and didn't know how to undo it. I knew how to do it on the old board but haven't on this one.

I don't think many NFL players will actually do it with TC right around the same time. Im actually surprised the owners allowed them to play.

Mailata has already said it’s nothing like a rugby play. That’s coming from people who know nothing about rugby.
