The attention garnered by the tush push controversy was real. The controversy itself was a whole lot less real. I suspect the NFL is quite pleased with its calculation of audience size/share/penetration/retention after all the tush push dust has settled.

Penetration is vital to a good Tush Push.

Maybe teams are so upset because the Eagles don't use lube prior to all that penetration

So I am playing a private party with one of my bands tonight. Rumor has it that it was organized by swingers.

Question, should I linger when we are finished?

🤣🤟

H.I.:

What are you talkin' about, Glen?

Glen:

What am I talkin' about? I'm talkin' about sex, boy, what the hell you talkin' about? I'm talkin' about l'amour! I'm talkin' that me and Dot are swingers, as in "to swing." I'm talkin' about wife swappin'. I'm talkin' about what they call nowadays open marriage. I'm talk...

Keep your goddamn hands off my wife!

Are you sure its not swing dancers?

Just arrived. Lots of potential.

No kids.

Lots of bikinis.

Pics or it never happened.

The entire tush push thing is being way overblown. Someone brought up stats with Hurts short yardage QB sneaks prior to them doing the tush push and they actually converted them at a higher % than they have most seasons doing the tush push. The QB sneak attempts we obviously less (I think around 14-15 per season vs 40-50+ per season with the tush push)

But like I said earlier - had they banned it - it wouldn’t of made much a difference - they would have run the same play without the push and likely converted it just as often.

I went back and viewed dozens of tush push plays and the majority of the time, Hurts gets tons of room from the offensive line going low, getting leverage and pushing the defense backwards - with then himself powering forward. He would have converted most of them without the additional push from other players.

That said, I do think the tush push is beneficial on longer than 1 yard situations and on longer goal line situations - at least from a psychological standpoint.

The NFL gets more unwatchable with each passing year. Constant commercial breaks, flags every other play, idiotic rule changes year over year. At some point the damn will break and viewership will start going down, I feel like it'll be relatively soon (within the next 5-7 years) with all of this "exclusively streaming on Peacock/Amazon/Max/Netflix". People don't want to subscribe to 40 streaming services just to watch football and Sunday Ticket is still stupid expensive.

First point…yes. I used to love popping on random games and just enjoying watching football. Now outside of marquee match ups, I have it on as background outside of Birds games.

Second point…no. This is a consumer world, there will be a sect that rebels against the 1849u31974398713974917234.3 platforms, but at the end of the day Fantasy & sports betting is going nowhere. They are pretty much 100% responsible for the surge in profits.

@mattwill when the heck did the A’s start playing in Sac?! Just noticed seeing the absurd time the Phillies game is today…

For me, it’s a pretty easy reason why it’s the most popular sport. It’s the easiest and safest and cheapest sport for lots and lots and lots of kids to play. Loyalty starts at a very early age.

Exactly. Soccer - football (fotebol) to most of the world doesn't require much at all in the way of equipment and players don't have to be physical freaks - don't have to be 300+ lbs. or 6' 8" or more to be good at it. All soccer really needs is a fairly level patch of grass and a ball. As a spectator sport I rank it with baseball (yawn) but obviously most of the world disagrees.

Great movie. Best movie from David Fincher which says a lot because he's one of the best living directors out there. Although his last two movies have been a bit disappointing. The Killer wasn't bad but Mank was awful.

In fact, I would rank his movies as such:

1. Fight Club (1999)

2. Zodiac (2007)

3. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)

4. Gone Girl (2014)

5. The Social Network (2010)

6. Se7en (1995)

7. The Game (1997)

8. The Killer (2023)

9. Panic Room (2002)

10. The Curios Case of Benjamin Button (2008)

11. Alien 3 (1992)

12. Mank (2020)

Not bad - I would shift Se7en and The Social Network up and move some of the others above it down a couple spots though

I’d hope there’s no kids at a swinger party. You aren’t at Diddys house.

I'm going super optimitistic with this, but two things I notice in this video:

-Jordan Davis looks to be in fantastic shape. He looks incredibly lean compared to where he's been.

-Nakobe Dean is bouncing around. It's a short glimpse of him, but the way he moves looks totally natural and reactive. When you can move without thinking post surgery, that's a huge hurdle to overcome. Ed Kratz mentioned that Dean is taking ballet classes to help his rehab.

Encouraging stuff here.

If anyone here can guess all 4 correctly it's @mattwill

Truth be known I can’t identify even 1 of them.

It is a game of tactics rather than scoring. Americans are highly partial to scoring.

This year. I’m going to go to tomorrow’s game.

I haven’t been to a baseball game in at least 20 years, possibly 30. So, if I go tomorrow night, where do I want to ideally sit?

Infield, between home and first. Lower deck.
