Yeah, I think Dawk was

Dawkins squared up and leveled his opponents with a form you don’t really see much of anymore. To suggest Brian Dawkins didn’t play a clean game is bizarro world.

Okay. Die on a Frankie Luvu hill. For whatever reason.

Sadly he is dying on that hill from a massive concussion caused by a Frankie Luvu hit to his head.

Absolutely. He was intense like the flying leap tackle that's a meme but he was a clean player who hit hard like you said.

Love Dawkins obviously but I definitely wouldn’t call him a clean player. Until he was forced to be 😄

He was illegally suplexing dudes and almost murdered a Giants WR on an illegal hit that was pretty vicious. 😄 NFL history is littered with players that are celebrated that I wouldn’t call clean though.

Also Luvu is a definitely a dirty player. And it looks a lot worse because he’s nowhere near the player Dawk was (duh)

Dawkins was constantly diving in late.

The suplex was not illegal until after Dawkins did it. But he was a late hitter and rarely called for it.

You think Andre Watters was clean? Or Bergey, or Wes Hopkins, or Bednarik, or hell, Dawkins. Or Jalen Carter?

Grow up.

You're genuinely comparing Carter getting away with the odd helmet slap with what Luvu does to Goff there? He literally drives the crown of his helmet into the back of Goff's head as Goff is being pushed back, I have no idea how that isn't flagged and in my opinion the NFL should make blatant inarguable targeting like that an ejection like it is in college.

It's a different time, and concussions are viewed and treated very differently. We know a lot more about concussions than we did 30 years ago.

Interestingly, I've never heard anyone call Dawkins dirty. He was extremely physical, but dirty? Never heard that before.

He lands on the small of Jurgens back both times. He has been known to play a bit dirty.

A guy that they knew was dealing with back issues.

Other teams fans did. We were biased.

Luvu is a dirty player - so its always interesting to note the NFL fussing about the health and safety of the shove, but more injuries were caused by Luvu last season (I believe) that the shove. But for some reason, seeing the QB of the best team in the league last year be out for a for a game to two on a dirty hit is ok, Let's call it Goodell Logic.

You can see Jordan Davis has lost weight by how much smaller his face looks, and his posture.

I could be wrong but didn't they make lifting a player up and tackling him down (essentially a suplex) illegal like 5 or so years ago? I think that was legal back when Dawk played

He puts Hurts as the top Eagles QB of all time.

There isn't an argument for anyone else. Lol bluesky.

Looking back it Foles had a pretty crazy career with us

He set all kinds of records yet struggled to be a starter on other teams

And the league said that the Tush Push was an injury risk. People lie.

He struggled to be a starter here too. He had flashes, but never had sustained success.

True. Though he's got records and gear in canton. Few can say that

What would he have to do to get there for you?

I think he deserved a shot as starter here in 2015 after going 6-2 in 8 games the year prior but we traded him to QB Killer Jeff Fisher for Sam Bradford and his bad knees.

Sustained success. He's not far off, and he'll undoubtedly get signed to another contract extension soon. McNabb had 10+ years of sustained success as the Eagles franchise QB and, while I hate that he came up small in some big games, he helped (along with Andy) bring the franchise to a level of perennial contender that it hadn't seen before.

If the Eagles contend for the next 3 to 4 years I think most people will regard Hurts at the top of Eagles franchise QB list. If the Eagles repeat as Super Bowl champions this year I might revisit my position.
