Here's a way too early shot at the 53. And some thoughts:

QB: I think McCord beats out DTR

RB: Feels like Van Sumeren makes the team given Lurie's comments on FBs

OL: I think Green and Pryor are locks as 6 and 7. Then the 3 rookies make the team I believe. I think they can get the rest to the PS.

TE: Roll with 2 and use PS elevations for the 3rd

DE: I have Huff on the team, sadly, assuming they can't trade him for anything

LB: If Dean stars on PUP, it opens a spot

CB: I think Ricks makes the team

S: Took Cine and the 1st round pedigree (and UGA) over McCollum

RS: I don't think they want Coop returning punts, and kickoff returns more important now with touchbacks to the 35

I agree on MccCord-DTR

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Dillon in one of the two recallable IR spots and Johnson making the 53

Two TEs makes some sense depending on how you use the spot that is freed up.

Your five WRs are the logical choices, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Darius Cooper beat out A. Smith

I would be surprised if Keegan isn't on the roster. I have 11 OL, or 10 if Pryor beats out Steen and Howie trades Steen to a OG-needy team for a 3rd Round pick or an upgrade of one of the existing picks via a pick swap. Making one of the 3's into a 2 would be nice.

At Edge if APR can demonstrate chops as a designated pass rusher, I think Huff will be gone.

The question for me at DT is whether you keep Booker as the 5th DT, or Keegan at OG.

I agree Dean starts the year on PUP, which brings your total down to 52.

CB looks good

I agree on Cine over McCollum, but that could change in Training Camp. But don't go to sleep on Maxen Hook from Toledo.

NFL analyst at ESPN.

If you scroll over to the section of her profile that says "Starter Pack" she has a pretty comprehensive list of the NFL writers that are on there. It's a good place to start if you're looking for follows. The Eagles specific beat writers you have to search out though.

I would follow Mina anywhere…

Dawk played in an era that allowed those hard hitting tackles that would get you ejected now. Not fair to call him dirty but I am biased

I don't think Suh is dirty but I also don't think he really cares. He just wanted to hit the QB and make plays. If it resulted in an injury then oh well. He partially played in an era that allowed those as well

Luvu is playing in an era where these hits are illegal and he's doing it. He's dirty. I am biased though. He was definitely trying to do a Troy P. move but failed miserably but he's also done dirty launching and targeting helmet hits

Suh was definitely dirty. He was suspended multiple times for doing stuff after the whistle like stomping on arms and stomping on legs. He kicked a QB in the nuts one time. He did mature some later in his career and stopped doing that stuff.

Running a play they can’t stop is clearly unfair. Better to run a play they can stop so they’ll feel better. Football is, after all, a gentleman’s game, like cricket but with fewer teams breaks.

I would love to ask Tony, "What part/aspect of the play isn't fair?"

Yea I kind of forgot about all of that but your post instantly reminded me of it. I especially remember the nut kick now😬

Well just disregard that part of my post lol

Kenny Gainwell in a real RB # and a Schutt F7 Pro. What an upgrade for him.

Suh was an interesting case because from what I remember he was dirty with extra curricular stuff but I don’t remember him being necessarily dirty between whistles, just strong and powerful. It seemed like he had some anger issues which probably didn’t help always being the biggest and baddest guy on the block.

I guess some things never change.

If we’re measuring GOAT QB based on team success then it’s very easily Hurts at #1.

Do we care about anything else? Winning SBs > stats.

The problem with stats is that people are too dense to understand that rushing is a QB stat now.

Hurts does not drop back 26.6 times per game in 2024 without also rushing 10 times a game. 36.6 (38.5 if you call DC#2 1/4 of a game)

That 36.6 plays per game is more than Stafford at 35.9 but no one would ever say Stafford just hands the ball off.

Hurts averages 35 TDs per year in the last 3 and 32.75 as a starter. Only losers care that only 21 per year (or 19.75) are thrown.

Stafford averages 18.3 TDs the last 3 years or 21 TDs the last 2 healthy years.

Make that 28.3 TDs per year if you allow him to skip 2022 and include 2021.

Hurts is an elite statistical QB in a run pass hybrid QB league dominated by Hurts, Allen, and Jackson.

(He's just not video game stats like Jackson and occasional Allen)

He is an elite winner

He is an elite playoff winner

He is the only 5 and 5 playoff season QB

He is the only 10 and 10 playoff career QB

He is an all-time elite SB performer in a league where Montana rode that to GoaT for 25 years.

Add in his leadership, example, and devastating effect on the Eagles run game and he's a clear top 1 going into 2025.

Top 1 at football. Feel free to take Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson for Fantasy League.

If we are voting for Hall of Fame where 2018-2021 really matter now then pick Mahomes instead. We are not.

Burrow led his team to 20 points in a SB with the help of a RB TD pass.

Allen and Lamar can't sniff a Super Bowl.

Who are these better than Hurts QBs? Justin Herbert and his 4 picks in a playoff game?

Jared Goff had 3 picks on his anointed team in a home playoff game? That's the same number of points he put up in his SB.

A rookie who Hurts beat by 22 in the NFCCG?

0-3 vs Hurts Love?

23 TDs a year Stroud?

50-53 career Baker and his 203 combo yards in a home playoff loss?

Sam Darnold?

Purdy?

Rayne Dakota Prescott?

What do these Negadelphia clowns watch on Sunday? It can't be NFL QB play.

Today I learned that Suh backing up and peeking behind so he can step on Aaron Rodgers' ankle TWICE is not a dirty player.

Hines Ward was not really a dirty player. He hit defenders like they hit the offense and those little babies cried about it.

I agree with you that he's probably the best QB in franchise history already. However, I'd also like to see him play 2-3 more good seasons before crowning him. Sustained success is the hardest IMO.

He is probably the best, but we’ve given him the best and most complete offense that any Eagles QB has ever had.

And an elite defense

Years later they'll say Hurts has had a pretty stacked offense and now defense in his career. Though he actually won a SB with it. Other QBs have had a stacked team and didn't go to the promised land

Great thing is the window is still open with this stacked team to win more rings

People downplay McNabb's contributions because we didn't win a super bowl with him, but he was a huge reason this team was good.

Hurts wins another SB and I'd say he passes McNabb. IMO, he is currently akin to Eli, middling regular season performances but has turned it on on the postseason when it counts. Also helps he has possibly the greatest Eagles team ever assembled while McNabb had pinkston and thrash for the prime of his career.

McNabb was one cheating Patriots team away from giving us a super bowl

So he gets an asterisk because the team has accomplished what every team tries to accomplish? What every team strives to do every single year?

Yes. It is because we do not deserve nice things.

Just popped in to point out what the Phillies are doing right now. They are beating the living snot out of the bottom feeders of the MLB right now. Sure, they aren't playing anyone right now... but they are handling business wonderfully. They don't make the schedule, all they can do is dominate the teams in front of them and they are doing that wonderfully.

The only complaint I have is that the pitching staff needs to step up to protect their batters. Harper has been plunked 3 times in 3 games now. No retaliatory throws against the opponent. I'm sorry, that's just not an option. Teams have become very comfortable throwing in on Harper and they need to become less comfortable with it. Was the throw last night intentional? Were the TWO in the same game against the A's intentional? It doesn't matter. Throwing inside comes with risk. They have been very comfortable doing it because that risk is only the runner getting on base, not the ball being put into the ribs of their star player. That needs to change tonight. Acuna should have one put into his ribs tonight... in the appropriate situation.
