Wonder what Dickerson's knee injury actually was because he never got surgery.

I think he might have. Are you sure?

I remember he said he was going to have to get surgery at locker clean out. He said wasn’t sure what he needed but said something like it being a car and having the guys go under the hood to figure it out.

He’s a pretty private guy. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had some minor surgery that never got reported.

I don't think it means Huff is gone. I think it means he doesn't want to be here. As I said during last season if they don't trade him they could have an issue on their hands. They're essentially wasting two years of a guy's career and hurting his future earning potential by not playing him. I think he's very unhappy he's here and they don't play him and he's going to do what all unhappy guys do, skip all the voluntary stuff.

We’re wasting his time?

I probably don't hate Jackson as much as others but this is still scary. Again it's May so not a huge deal but not inspiring

Perception is a funny thing. As frustrated as I used to get with McNabb's worm burners and his inability to make big plays in the biggest games, I remember him more fondly than Cunningham ... by A LOT. Cunningham was a different level of frustration; never bothered to learn the playbook and it was apparent while watching him. Great athlete but had no idea how to operate the offense properly -- and the talent around him was pretty good with Byars, Keith Jackson, and Fred Barnett and Calvin Williams were both better than what McNabb had at WR. I firmly believe the Eagles would have won at least one Super Bowl with better QB play.

I hate to be petty, but I am what I am. I was overjoyed when Atlanta beat his 1998 Vikings team to get to the Super Bowl. People conveniently forget the Falcons were 14-2 that season and they pretend that was some huge upset when the Vikings lost.

I was in my mid-late teens when Cunningham was playing so I probably didn't "analyze" his play like I did McNabb's (I got much more analytical as I got older). So yeah, I hear ya. I associate Cunningham as the big play QB that we hadn't had in my lifetime (if ever, at that point). To me, he was just exciting to watch and I was enjoying the bravado of Buddy Ryan and that killer defense. I suppose I look back on that era more with a nostalgic lens.

But McNabb...man, I just could never embrace him. And if I'm being honest, I haven't really fully embraced Hurts either. There's just something about those guys' personalities that has/is stopping me from revering them like I did a Dawkins, Kelce, etc. FWIW, I do like Hurts more than I did McNabb, for sure.

No go for DeJean as outside in base. Don't F with what worked. I'm confident he won't be outside in base during the regular season.

Based only on that report, then we'd have to speculate that Blankenship, Lane and Devonta are also gone.

Bryce has been hit 3 times recently with no response. Gotta do it today. League has to know we will protect our stars by going after theirs. So far, we've let the league have its way.

Agree. Doesn't have be the first pitch

He got paid big money to suck. We didn't waste a year of his career by not playing him. He wasted cap space on this team by sucking so bad that they had to bench him... and even make him a healthy scratch for the Super Bowl. It's not on the Eagles that he's not good enough, at least in terms of him getting on the field... it is on them that they gave him that big money contract.

He got $17M last year in cash. Then he's due another $16M in bonus this year. He's got a lot of nerve being upset about that. Not to worry, he'll be free to find a new team after this year... and he'll have $34M for sitting the bench while here. He's been well compensated for his hemorrhoids.

If all of them were benched for the SB I might agree, but it's not apples/apples.

He must be his agent

Both can be true. It's not the Eagles fault for not playing him, but the reality is the guy used to play a lot and now he doesn't. And he doesn't deserve to. But looking at it from his perspective, I'd understand why he thinks he's wasting away here not playing at all and would want to go to a team where he fits so he can maximize his earning potential. If he doesn't get traded this year he'll basically spend two years of his prime on the bench.

Partially because of our age, we all tend to overrate and romanticize the Buddy Ryan teams. The first season I really watched was 1988, and I loved Cunningham. But there's just no objective way to believe that he was better (as an Eagle) than either McNabb or Hurts. Randall had all the talent in the world, but he came up small and never really learned the game. To be fair, he also played behind an abhorrent line. But Cunningham with the Eagles is comparable to Vick in Atlanta, without the crimes. There's a reason no one signed him and he retired after 1995. The guy who came back to the Vikings was humbled and also played in the perfect offense for his skills in 1998.

I still don’t see the issue. He got paid close to 50M to play 3rd string because he’s terrible. He arguably is in the best spot out of anyone in the league. I’d love to get paid to sit on the bench 17 days a year.

You don't understand why a player who loves to play football would be unhappy not being able to play football? No one likes being benched. They're competitors. I don't understand how it's hard to grasp why he's unhappy. The question is will he become a problem if he doesn't get traded or will he just be a guy who bites his tongue for one more year.

Someone who loves playing football BUT doesnt show up for OTAs for a chance to compete for a starting job? He is getting handsomely paid so what is he hiding out for? He’s stealing money.

Of course not. But, he's got too big a cap number to get rid of him without another team being stupid, or him giving back cash. But, if he's willing to give back money... then by all means.

So, the fact that he's not there doesn't really tell us anything. We can hope it means something, but more than likely... its a nothing burger.

Sure. He can leave... but to do so, he's got to give back money. Is he going to do that? That's his ticket out of town. He's already maximized his earning potential. He got a team to overpay for a part time, situational pass rusher with one real year of production. He's got no beef.

If he doesn't get traded, he's basically stolen $34M from this team.

Yeah, I don’t know how much stock to put into these drills. It’s most likely for cross-training purposes. But I do think Mukuba has a good shot to win the safety job.

It's dumb, but this is just how it goes, you know that. Unhappy players whether it be about their contract or playing time always skip voluntary stuff to make a statement. For better or for worse, it's just the way it is.

You’re not the only one. I’ve never thought it was particularly close either, but it’s also a discussion I’ve never wanted to get into.

That's an interesting play -- basically tell him he'll be inactive for every game, and if he wants a chance to play elsewhere, take a settlement on the 2025 comp. I doubt he does it, and it might hurt our reputation if it leaks, but I don't think Vic will play him.
