For the chance at a ring (playing for the best team in the NFL that he just made better) and to play his contract year in Fangio’s Defense, setting up a huge pay day in the 3026 Free Agency.

He will be 1,030 years old by then.

A thought on the void years thing and the Tush Push. For those with the tinfoil hats as Eagles fans, they can look at the Conmish's recent moves and wonder. The Eagles have done well over the past 3 years to reach 2 SBs and for some reason, the idiot Goodell doesn't like it and is leveraging his backroom power to remove some of the tools that helped the Eagles win. The NFL let the Pats cheat and covered it up, nigh on encouraged the Chiefs to 3peat. So why pick on the Eagles because of their cap mgmt and the Shove? That's not parity.

Perhaps that explains why Lurie went so hard at Goodell recently to lay a marker down. Feeling like he's being picked on for being successful and not allowing Goodell to just wave a hand to get what he wants. Could be one to watch longer term.

You are dying on this hill unnecessarily. There's no evidence that he would report for ANY team without a new contract. And there are very few examples of players who are in the midst of a contract dispute who are then traded to another team, and play happily on their old deal for the new team. Can you name any? The most recent example of a player who was disgruntled with his contract and was traded to a new team without the new contract demonstrated clearly that the team change doesn't change the contract issue.

But, most importantly, the Eagles can't really afford to pay Hendrickson anyway. They aren't trading what it would take to get him here for a one year rental. It just doesn't add up.

For the upgrade of one of Howie’s 3rds into a 2nd.

Lots of trench-hungry teams out there after an O-Line weak Draft

If he can't brat out Pryor there is now way he sweetens the pot enough to move from a 3 to a 2, especially not in the summer.

Wonder if we see a Reed Blankenship extension soon after as a result.

BG will officially retire as well, which looks like it will eat up some Cap

This isn’t a right or wrong discussion. It’s a teasing out the possibilities discussion. The ying and yang of those possibilities. The impediments you and others have brought up are all powerful and valid. It is all speculation. I don’t care if I am right or wrong, just that we are discussing the possibilities thoroughly,

Imagine how high the salary cap will be by then!

If that’s true I think that hurts your argument. He’s dug in about his contract with a team he spent his entire professional career with. All the relationships with ownership, staff and other players is being put behind his personal interest, which he has every right to do. But why would he suddenly not care about his contract with a team he knows nobody (generally speaking) and doesn’t have a strong relationship with?

Not his entire career…but ya he seems very entrenched and i don’t blame him. This is his last chance at setting up his family for generations.

I agree, and wouldn’t having an extra $15.8 million toward that rather than $0 (if he holds out) be a big step in that direction?

Would $15.8 million be enough to set up your family for generations?

Where do you put the odds that the Eagles would trade for Hendrickson?

And where do you put the odds that the Eagles would trade for him AND not give him a new deal?

I put the first one at 0.01%.

I put the second one at 0.0001%.

He's not going to end up with a net negative with this tactic. He's going to get paid and that will cover any losses he incurs.

I respect those odds.

If you think those are the odds, why are you investing yourself in the discussion?

Mind you, my goal is discussion, so I am glad you are invested.

Will he get paid more or less as a 2026 Free Agent if he sits out the season?

I was on the Garrett wagon. Not on the Hendrickson wagon

Agreed. That extra $6.42 million was the hold up.

Understood. Garrett is a better onfield option than Hendrickson.

With that said, if Hendrickson came to the Eagles would he be Edge 1, Edge 2, or Edge 3?

He won't sit out the full season. This is all part of the negotiation process.

I jumped in to find out why you are so invested in this. It's the longest of long shots for the Eagles. It would cost too much in a trade... and cost too much on the cap. So, I jumped in to try to move the discussion to more realistic possibilities. Why not discuss the chances that the Bengals will throw Burrow into the deal along with Hendrickson. The odds are pretty close for both of them.

He might. Agreed it's part of the negotiation process though

I thought SF was the obvious choice.

Unlike Kyle Shanahan, Bryce has a SB ring.
