The guy who couldn’t beat out a 7th round pick and has already stated he’s staying all 4 years…yup. I find this comical, Arch is the new Lawrence.

Which is ridiculous with the amount of football he's played, I get the concerns about Nussmeier and Klubnik's frames and ability to withstand the hits they'll get at pro level, but they both have a full season of starting and producing at a good level behind them, they should both be ahead of Manning (as should Allar and probably a few others) to start the season IMO

To be fair, those guys knew these exact reactions would come and addressed both of them in the video.

  1. They know he probably stays in but said they'll discuss him until the deadline passes to declare, because he is draft eligible.

  2. They know he has played minimal football. They said this is summer scouting which is more about protecting forward about what a player might be, rather than a set in stone draft ranking according to who us the best professor right now.

I wonder what people would be saying about him if his last name was "Redenbacher" instead of "Manning". 🤔

They’d probably be saying "get your popcorn ready!”

I’ll show myself out

High praise

Gotta click on the tweet to see the full list. Spoiler alert: We’re second. I’m shocked to see how many teams flat out don’t use it or use it minimally.

It should be binary, though. Once you start pushing money forward, you need to continue to do so to make room for the delayed cap hits you set up in the past.

That's a pretty good comparison in terms of size and play style. I think Ward put on some weight early in his career when he switched to safety.

It's about spending money sooner to lock up good players. Many teams just seem unwilling to take that approach and probably see it as a cost saving measure.

The Eagles do use it a lot....but if you go into over the cap, there are only a handful of meaningful players/salaries. They do it across the roster even with smaller ones. Still has an impact but not earth shattering. And right now, they have 32 million in the cap this year (which if they roll it all over) they will have 52 million available next year. And over 100 million in 2027.

I've said it before, I'll say it again....when it comes to coaches, you can worry.....when it comes to draft picks and free agent signings, you can worry.....when it comes to Roseman and his crew a cap crusaders managing our cap.....you should NEVER have any worries.

Yes, one day this will be an issue. The assumption with this method is the cap will only increase annually. Once it slows down, and it will, or it has a few years sprinkled in where it remains flat, it will be painful to pay the piper. Another factor is a new CBA could include a cap on the total number and value of void/dummy years or could simply eliminate them completely. As I approach retirement, I just want as many SB wins as possible and we have the team right now to get more over the next few seasons. Once I retire to Thailand and spend my days working with Elephants, traveling to SE Asia/Australia/New Zealand and the Mediterranean, I'll be happy to reminisce about the era of Eagles 5 SBs in 12 years.

What if you are a GM that doesn't like it, but inherited it from your predecessor?

I know, i just find the glazing ridiculous right now with Arch. I want to see the kid play…hope he lives up to the hype, but we’ve been down this road before.

Steelers are going to richly deserve their first losing season in 20+ years.

Their QB carousel is their own making. They let Roethlisberger hang on at least two years too long after his arm was obviously shot and he couldn't throw downfield any longer. Mason Rudolph was actually a decent draft pick; his college tape is good and he could have been developed. His biggest problem is he has no internal clock, so he tends to hold the ball waiting for something to open up and takes hits. That could have been coached out of him.

Even if Rodgers plays decent football, the Steelers are the 3rd best team in their own division. They're trying to tread water instead of building a roster properly. Rodgers will very likely behave like a tool and drag them down to a 7-10 record.
