Any "Sport" that relies on a subjective score rather than an objective one, isn't really a sport. It's a subjective competition.

Do kickers get more than 3 points when they kick a Fg in high cross winds or directly into the wind? Or if the kick is from 50+ yards?

Is a home run worth more when you hit it to the opposite field?

Is an 80 yard Td run worth more than a 1 yard TD run, or are they both worth 6?

I always thought that’s why rhythmic gymnastics existed…for the flare and style. Honestly, the objectiveness is what made Strug’s gold clinching vault so amazing. Imagine under the new rules and Karolyi is just saying go out there and do the craziest thing you can and don’t worry about sticking the landing perfectly since you only got 1 functioning ankle.

That's it not a sport. Do it, enjoy it. Call it a competition. It's not objective. It's subjective.

Sport to me includes:

athleticism

offense

defense

objective scoring

and some sort of 'ball'

Golf, swimming, most track and field, cheerleading, gymnastics, NASCAR, diving and many others don't qualify. Many have many elements I laid out, but only if you have all 5 are they 'sports'. The rest are competitions, or whatever other name you want to give to it. Just my opinion.

So curling is a sport then right?

Close. It’s Hakeem Butler.

This would have been a great backfield like 4 years ago.

A shame what happened to Chubb.

To us Canadians it is:

Cowboys had one for a good portion of Dak's career.

This was too good to resist, even if the green was wrong.

The hit that blew out his knee should be a foul, Fitzpatrick isn't making any sort of attempt at a tackle, he just rolls in backwards at the runner at knee height, if it hits a grounded foot it's going to break something every single time, it's ridiculous that doing that is legal and they're trying so hard to outlaw the Tush Push on player safety grounds.

It’s also a function of how deep (or not) the field is in men’s tennis. Between Djokovic, Nadal and Federer they combined to win 66 majors in a 20-year span. That’s 3 guys winning more than 80% of the grand slam tournaments. Were the three of them that great or did it speak to a rather dead era in overall talent? Djokovic and Federer also won all their titles in a 15 year span, so that 80% number is actually understated.

In a few hours Sinner and Alcaraz will play for the French Open title. No matter which one wins, it will be the 6th consecutive grand slam victory between the two, and 7th in the last 8. If the two of them dominate for the next 8-10 years, they’ll be right up there with the previous 3 in all-time grand slam titles.

I think the thing with Tennis is that it isn't the same game that it used to be, the differences between surfaces used to be more marked, but starting in 2002 they've progressively homogenized the game across surfaces with heavier slower balls on grass and changes to playing surfaces, so players can be good on all surfaces now because it's all sit on the baseline and try and beat the bejesus out of the ball until someone misses.

That's why Borg winning the French and Wimbledon 5 times each is incredible, because at that point it was almost a completely different game, the clay was slow with predictable bounce and was an attritional test of fitness and ground strokes, whereas the grass was lightning quick had uneven bounce and tested movement, reactions and volleying.

It's why you have players absolutely dominating across all surfaces nowadays, but guys like Sampras who was head and shoulders the best of his era could never win the French while guys like Chang and Kuerten did, and Ivan Lendl could win everywhere but Wimbledon, while someone like Pat Cash won Wimbledon and nowhere else.

Shouldn't we sign him and then trade Adoree Jackson and Jordan Davis to Cincinnati for Hendrickson?

No...humor would be....we sign him and when we play the Packers, have him behind center for the tush push.....

I’ve loved jaire Alexander as a player since he came out of Louisville. But he’s likely going to ask for more than what we want to pay and he’s always hurt. He’s still really good when he plays but he’s played in 14 games the last two years. Hes played 4, 16, 7 and 7 in the last 4 years.

Jaire Alexander, Rasul Douglas, Stephon Gilmore, Mike Hinton and Asante Samuel Jr all available in free agency. Jalen Ramsey demanding a trade. I know none of those guys are stars at this stage (nor do I see a great fit for Fangio really) but seems like more than the usual amount of CB depth available this time of year. Interesting at least.

Probably not behind that offensive line.

If they sign one jaire has connections to Parker

This team has plenty of depth at CB. Alexander would make no sense.

I think it depends on how fangio feels about that depth. Ringo has little experience and adoree Jackson at this stage of his career is likely a backup. Eli ricks is also a backup. Imo if the eagles go after jaire (highly doubt) it’s cause fangio believes he needs an upgrade over ringo, Jackson and Eli ricks

For the like 6 game a year he's healthy Alexander, DeJean, Mitchell would be the best CB group in the league. Seems highly unlikely though. Hopefully he doesn't go anywhere where he can hurt us (eg Rams)
