Your name doesn't happen to be Dr. Frankenstein, does it?

I don't think so. Pearce was a second name thought of regarding who could be the pick with that move up.

Good point - although ATL took Jalon Walker previously, so that might have muddied the waters.

PM @prophet215 to find out

Im watching the draft video now.

It looks to me like the eagles have a player targeted that Howie is calling every team to move up for. When Washington comes up, and picks Conerly, Lurie says "Still Ok. Conerly." As if to say, our guy is still out there. Howie taps him back and says, Thats a great pick. I think as if to say, that pushes our guy down closer to us. He is clearly excited to see Washington take Conerly. And he jumps right back on the phone to continue trying to trade. Because he knows his guy is still there to be had.

Nola is righting the ship.

I think even without the cap and free agency, there’s a good chance Mondon would beat Dean out. They’re about the same size but Mondon is much more athletic and a better player in coverage.

Mondon is longer. 6'2", Dean is 5'11".

Dean has a high football IQ great instincts but a little short.

Mondon the better athlete, not as physically thick nor not elite instincts but ideal size

I also have the feeling the Detroit GM was a total D on the phone when Howie said alright, appreciate the honesty. lol.

Thats all though.

Looks liek Campbell was their guy for a long time and they got him. Did not care about Conerly going off the board.

Day 2 and 3 didnt seem to fall their way. Tough when you are last in every round. But nice to see all of the scouts call out each of those names that were drafted. Not like they threw darts blindly when their picks finally came up. These were all guys that got call outs from scouts in the green room.

Also nice to see which guys put their name on those picks. Last year I think we all wondered who the a-holes were that wanted Ainias Smith, and Johnny Wilson. One can only hope Howie didnt let those guys influence him this year.

I read from some anonymous scout that he didn’t spend enough time in the weight room or was a little lazy. I forget which.

I remember hearing that mondon has the size and athletic traits and skill set but sometimes just doesnt care.

Guess we'll see.

Does Mondon have the same instincts as Dean. I ask because I don't know. I believe Dean's is next level .

Not as good, but still good. And already better in coverage — or at least projects to be. Obviously we have to see it on the field.

Yeah, his knock is off field commitment. The gamble is you put him in the eagles locker room and he matures and the injuries he’s had get sorted out. Talent wise, he’s a day 2 level guy.

That covers the loss of Milton Williams. Who is going to offer what Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham brought? I am less optimistic about EDGE. They added Uche, Ojulari and APR. And Campbell might get some snaps there.

Fair enough, but you are skipping over the likelihood that both Smith and Hunt will be noticeably better.

Regarding Sweat and Graham, Sweat was an inconsistent factor. Our best friend has a saying, "When I’m good, I’m very good, and when I’m bad I’m better!” When Sweat was good, he was very good, but when he was bad, he was just bad.” We put up with the latter to enjoy the former. Graham was pretty consistently good, but after he suffered the season-ending injury, both Smith and Hunt thrived … especially Hunt. So the "we need to replace …” reality is that we really only need to replace good Sweat.

They don't worry me either. But they don't play all the snaps. The Eagles use a heavy rotation. Who plays the other snaps and produces?

See my comment above.

In the NFCCG Smith took 80% of the snaps, Sweat took 51%, Hunt took 53%, and Huff took 15%.

Against the Rams Smith took 82% of the snaps, Sweat took 87%, Hunt took 24%, and Huff took 0%.

Against the Packers Smith took 88% of the snaps, Sweat took 77%, Hunt took 32%, and Huff took 2%

The questions are whether Smith can keep up that 2024 level, Hunt can assume Sweat’s 2024 workload, and the additions can productively assume Hunt’s 2024 workload.

I'm not skipping over anything.

We need snaps from more than them.

Graham played 30% of the snaps.
Sweat played 60%.

Hunt only played 23%. His snaps increasing doesn't necessarily mean that his production will increase proportionally.

But, even so... that's a lot of snaps that need to be played by someone. Uche, Ojulari, APR... who knows right now.

Is your best friend Mae West?

That is the Scottish pronunciation

Graham’s snaps

NFCCG 0%

Division 0%

Wild Card 0%

Weeks 13 through 18 0%

Graham’s snaps in Weeks 1 through 12 were absorbed by the other players with no degradation of play quality. In fact the quality of play increased.

No, Gerri Poppiti.

Well, Reed is steady and mostly invisible for most of the season (in a good way), but not a player who pops off the screen except for his few diving interceptions a year. Maybe a big hit here and there.

But thats now Slay, and DeJean talking about his leadership ability. Behind the scenes, he seems highly valued.

I havent felt he is a must sign player when it comes time for contracts. But, I guess we will see how the eagles feel at some point in the near future.

I feel bad for Dean bc of the injury. Likely his last season here. I think Mondon can play

Think it’s Dean’s last year too. Not paying 2 LB’s big money. It gives them a year to develop Mondon and put on a little more weight.
