We should be careful about being holier than though. Was there ever a worse surface than at the Vet?

The turf caused some well publicized injuries. Wendell Davis was probably the most notable. There was also a question of whether the turf was potential contributing factor to several former Phillies, (Darren Daulton and Tug McGraw) developing brain cancer. I think we can excuse some of the problems with the Vet on the difficulties of maintaining a multi-use field and the shortcomings of the turf. I also think Lurie and the Eagles realized the issue and that's why the Linc has grass. The problem with the Meadowlands is that they built the stadium in 2010 and went with turf. The NFL keeps injury data, something that was not kept in the same detail in the 70's and 80's. The data from 2012 to 2018 showed "players have a 32% higher rate of non-contact knee injuries on turf and a staggering 69% higher rate of non-contact foot/ankle injuries on turf compared to grass." https://nflpa.com/posts/only-natural-grass-can-level-the-nfls-playing-field I think there's a good argument that the Meadowlands is much more complicit in the problem at this point. This is especially apparent since they are able to change the turf to grass for FIFA.

Autocorrect is making me crazy. How do I turn it off?

Preston Tiffany looks like that male cheerleader we had a few years back roll

But looks aside this is a great sign. He's a big up and comer in college. He probably could have gone just about anywhere over these next few years and he chose the Eagles. We'll have plenty of FO turnover year to year but talented people want to come work here.

Never mind. I figured it out.

Use paper.

Strictly from his POV the Eagles make a lot of sense. 1 year prove it deal to show he's still a lockdown DB and can stay healthy. Had success with Parker. Opposing teams won't be able to avoid him with Q on the other side. High end DL and DC who can get pressure and force QB mistakes. Likely to make the playoffs so he can perform on the biggest stage.

Probably about as good as he can do from a "prove myself and get a big contract in 2026" POV.

Still think we stick with Ringo/Jackson though

Joe Burrow is the new Drew Brees. One of the main issues the Saints had was Brees was so good at passing that they just leaned into it; which caused lots of 3-and-outs and quick TD drives. Situations that continually put their defense in bad spots.

Because of this Brees missed the playoffs in NO 6 times in 14 years… and everyone kept blaming defense.

Joe has missed 3 in 5 so far

In 2009 when they won it all they were more balanced with just over 500 pass attempts and over 400 rush attempts

The next year and the following over 600 pass attempts and just over 300 rush attempts...

The defense though even in super bowl year was under 20th in points allowed

A good rush offense keeps the D fresh, I dont thik its a coincidence that eagles D got much better once the eagles leaned into running the ball.

From his, yeah. From the Eagles POV I don't think it does. They need to find out what they have in Ringo. Next year he'll be on the last year of his deal, which means extension talks time. If he doesn't start this season, I don't even know how they'd begin to evaluate what they have in him and if he's worth extending or letting walk. They used a good pick to get him, they need to find that out.

If Ringo plays well, which is a big "if", if someone goes down like in the Rams game, is Jackson good enough? Maybe. We agree I lean towards them not signing him, but if he would take a one-year deal, I'd do it. They would certainly have depth and possibly get a nice comp pick after he walks. I say this every post about this, but edge concerns me more along with safety.

Easier to say now with two Super Bowls under their belt, but I’m thankful for Lurie and this front office and not the cesspool that Cinci has.

I don't think it's doable given the money he wants, but still holding out a slight hope Howie with all those picks can swing a Hendrickson trade(not for a first rounder). I just love his game. And I think he's the perfect Eagle. That guy is just a dawg. Busts his ass on every play, one of those locker room type guys. I think he's the type of guy this city and team would absolutely love. And shows up in big games. But I don't see how they swing it with a new contract he wants.

And he is entrenched in the SEC. Sounds great to me!!

I don't see any logic or defense for what Cincinnati is trying to do here, the CBA is clear on first round contracts, they haven't included the language for previous first round picks and they haven't got a recent history of first round picks getting their guaranteed money but being unprofessional, it's just a ridiculous hill for them to die on.

Could see this being a favorite tattoo for more than a few Blog posters who find any slight criticism of Kelce to be sacrilegious.

The next few years are going to be like a mass extinction in terms of great musicians McCartney, Jagger, Richards, Dylan, Clapton, Neil Young and Roger McGuinn are all knocking 80 or above, guys like Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Bob Weir and Nile Rodgers are mid 70's.

Same is true for the film/TV industry:

99 -- Dick Van Dyke, Gene Shalit, David Attenborough, Mel Brooks

98 -- William Daniels

97 -- Doc Severinson

96 -- Marion Ross, James Hong (Seinfeld, 4!)

95 -- Robert Wagner, Joanne Woodward, John Astin, Clint Eastwood

94 -- William Shatner, Hal Linden, Robert Duval

93 -- Don King, Barbara Eden, Angie Dickinson, Dan Rather

There are groups out there who even wager on it like a dead pool, and some radio shows put friendly wagers on who will go next.

I’m surprised they kept Higgins and Chase. I thought for sure Higgins was going to walk. But they brought him back and chase (never was leaving) because I’m guessing it would really upset Joe Burrow. I wouldn’t be surprised in 3 to 5 years if Joe Burrow is asking to be traded from Cincinnati. It feels like it’s going to be a team that has dysfunction with ownership, franlyna mediocre coach they continue keep and eventually burrow realizes he wants to go to an organization that’s better.

Tbh I’d love to get Harper over anyone at 3. Curious to what they’d have to give up to do it

Not even sure it would be for Harper. Almost feels like they think someone will try to jump them for Edgecombe who they seem to love.

He needs to stay healthy for anything to happen

He kind of looks like Christopher Nolan

Which is why he's almost definitely looking at a 1 year deal situation somewhere.

It's about where he thinks he can rehab his value to land a big bag in 2026 imo. Making a few extra million and going to a trash defense where he travels with the top WR probably isn't worth it at this stage. Going to Philadelphia or Baltimore or Minnesota etc seems like the smarter move.

I hope so. I think Ringo is about to become a star. He, Mitchell, and DeJean the to DB group in the league.

A Ringo Star?
