Yeah I can see Jurgens improving so that’ll be a help (and he was already really dam good to be fair). Why do you think the pass blocking will be better? I get Becton was better in run blocking but run blocking is "easier” to pick up right?

Becton’s lack of experience taking snaps as a Guard rather than a Tackle caused his pass blocking, especially when the Defense ran stunts, to be spotty at best. His physical prowess often helped him minimize the damage, but that didn’t change the fact that it was a blown assignment when it happened. It didn’t help Becton that Jurgens missed his fair share of assignments as well, but they both got better as the season progressed. Steen and Pryor have considerable Guard experience. I’m going to leave Green out of the discussion at this point because his experience mostly has to be unlearned.

Run blocking when you are a man mountain like Becton is much easier. It is proactive rather than reactive. You are the one dictating the action rather than having the action dictated to you.

Our problem right now as fans is that we don’t know what we don’t know. So all we can do is speculate.

I was home being - annoyed - with Chip for pulling Foles in what, middle of the 3rd quarter or something? He could have set a record that would likely stand for a long time if given the opportunity. I understand not wanting to run up the score on a bad team but damn ..........

Still pissed they didn't let him continue

Peyton, Foles, and Brees could have changed the record

Whoever plays RG will not be as good as Becton. Period.

If I post it again you will indeed see it again.

Maybe one day we will get a 7 rushing TD game from our QB.

I usually defer to @just relax but I agree with you. Too early to come to that conclusion.

Yeah unlikely you'll have DBs falling down so much in a game again.

Yeah I don’t think Green is going to make the 53 but hey with Stout you just never know. With Steen I’m just not convinced yet. He was given the chance last summer to win the job and yes he got hurt but ultimately Becton won that job. I’m just not sure he’s the answer but having Pryor there gives us some experience.

In an absolute sense, true. The future is unknowable.

I think we're overrating Becton at this point. He was good don't get me wrong. High end run blocker in particular. But his pass blocking numbers were just "above average" and he was sandwiched between an all pro tackle and pro bowl center. Sure if you had me pick a RG to start next year it'd be him. But he wasn't Zack Martin out there and I trust Stout.

I always thought I was alone in thinking BCS was better than BB but I’m glad there are others out there who feel the same way. I think every character in BCS is flawless and executed perfectly. I grew tired of Skylar in BB.

The fact they full fleshed out a character in Lalo Salamanca based on a line of 2 of dialogue in BB shows how on it they were. There is a lot of division out there between the people that like Skylar and those who can't stand her.

Frankly I don’t think Better Call Saul comes close to Breaking Bad. And I liked BCS quite a lot.

I get it. I found BB suffered from a large slice of it got very silly; BCS did too, but it a smaller manner. I loved the way BCS fleshed the marco world out rather than being about Walter White. But its just my opinion, no greater than anyone else's.

I've gone back and forth in my opinion of BB or BCS. I loved both, just comes down to if you like more thriller or if you like more character drama. BB had more "oh ish" moments but BB never had a scene or episode like Chicanery which was just perfect.

One thing I've noticed on re-watching is because BCS came after, they took everything great about BB but just took it to another level. You can tell just by watching Bob Odenkirks acting as Saul in early BB and how much better he was in BCS.

I've not rewartched BCS yet. Mainly as I have no idea which streaming service its on, but it will get rewatched. Mark Margolis was low key very good in that too.

An update on the pitches and conditions in the club world cup. Teams aren't happy with the conversion from field to real turf (even if the article gets its wrong with the Linc).

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cp862416n77o

The Spaniard says football's world governing body Fifa needs to "bear in mind" the quality of both match and training pitches if it wants the Club World Cup to be "the most high-level competition in the world". "I wouldn't imagine a NBA court full of holes," the 55-year-old said after his side won 2-0 to secure top spot in Group B in the tournament, which is being solely hosted in the United States. "What I really care about is the state of the field of play, and I say this on the day we've won. "The ball bounces almost like if it were jumping around like a rabbit."

Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham also criticised the pitches at the Club World Cup following his side's 3-1 win against Pachuca. "The pitches aren't great at all. It holds up the ball, the ball barely bounces," said the England midfielder. "It's tough on the knees as well. Hopefully there's someone who will look at that going into the World Cup next year."

I get people had man crushes on Becton for traits and probably over rated his play as a result. Dude was a rarity and I thank him for SB59. But lets see what he does this yr away from our line.

I am far more concerned about TE than RG. And adequate RG is probably just fine this yr

I am ready for Steen to get his chance. They have invested a few years in him. Sink or swim time
