From what ive been told all alcohol is an acquired taste...

It’s an acquired taste and like everything else, depends on the quality.

Personally I’d say Vodka is the worst. I don’t think it’s bad but the difference between cheap Vodka and pricy Vodka is how much it burns. I don’t think there is much their taste wise unless you are doing flavored vodka.

Tequila is kind of the same but you can get well made, good tasting tequila.

Whiskey and Bourbon is on the level of a wine. The taste and quality has a big range depending on the process.

I know what mushrooms are, and I don't eat them. They taste nasty and smell worse.

Ive never been interesting in eating/drinking something enough times to acquire a taste for it. Normally if I taste something bad I dont keep going back to it until its tolerable.

Take for instance olives. I Remember eating my fist olive at about 5 thought it was disgusting, had olives here and there over the years most of them awful and Ive never thought ill just keep eating them til they taste ok, maybe if they got me buzzed id acquire a taste for them but if not why waste my time eating something I think taste bad?

To each their own I just dont get it.

My mom was the same and her dad used to give her sips of beer when she was a kid, she told me she liked it, she also liked the taste of glue too so ...her Dad was an alcoholic, one of the reasons I dont drink, the other reason my dads side of the family him his brother and sister all have some weird gene where they get hungover while theyre drinking, so drinking never really appealed to them.

So maybe alcohol smelling and tasting awful to me is just an evolutionary response to keep me safe🤷‍♂️

Cherry for pork. Mesquite for everything else. I gave away my off set not too long ago and stick to my pellet. With the newborn, the set and forget is so much easier to manage. If I’m feeling fancy I’ll throw a smoke tube in as well.

99% of tequila’s turn my stomach just from the smell, but this summer I’ve been stretching the life of my Lagavulin 16 bottle switching to a nice mezcal for my play with fire and have a cigar evenings once we get the little one down for bed.

Ironically…I loved it when i had it, but it’s intended to be a meal finisher with a shot of aquavit (one of my fav sips these days if i can find it) to cleanse the pallet. Iceland is a country i could visit another 100 times and probably not see everything i want to. Amazing food, drink and views…love that place.

Also asked biggest rival at World Juniors and one of the two guys he mentioned was Martone. Finally, why does he wear # 48? Because of Danny Briere and is very close with Danny.

I liked the reindeer. May be my Scandinavian genes. Found the dried salted cod interesting. Iceland doesn’t drink much due in part to their Danish ties, but at a craft brewery, they had my daughter sip everything they brewed when she showed them her beer app, the fact they had a beer listed and after she left everyone of their beers had a review. Agree about the food and the people could not have been nicer.

Mushrooms have a lot of health benefits. I put 1 tsp of Porcini mushroom powder in my coffee every morning...tastes good (to me) and provides a boost. 🍄
