Seems like safety is the only real position battle heading into camp. RG and CB seem all but set and Steen and Ringo's job unless they totally goof it.

I wish they would give Ricks a fair shot at the job but doesn't sound like he will even be in the mix for it.

What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

Have we learned anything new since the OTAs? If the answer is "no” then you are reading much more into a small data set than it warrants.

Yes we have. Unlike the safety position, there really was no rotation among the ones at CB and RG.

Hogwash. Based on two OTAs out of six.

"Hogwash" should be used more often. Excellent word.

Too Redskinsy.

That was at OTAs. Old news. Have you learned anything new since the last OTA?

Did he offer to give back his signing bonus to become a free agent again? No.

Not buying it. He's struggling to try to save face.

Howie is the best, but not infallible. That signing should've never happened and there had to have been some lack of communication somewhere. You telling me Fangio signed off and then he got in the building and then Fangio was like "Nah, not gonna work." Highly doubtful.

I'm guessing Fangio didn't sign off or give a ringing endorsement to that signing.

Fangio is a great DC but, like Howie, is not infallible. He was here three months before we signed Huff and it is hard to believe he would not have been consulted about Huff. My belief is that once he saw that Huff couldn’t or wouldn’t set the edge, he had no use for him. Vic runs a light box much of the time, with two DTs and what amounts to four LBs. Huff is heavier than either Smith or Hunt but he’s strictly a speed guy. Fangio asks more of that position than Huff is capable of giving. He was never asked to set the edge with the Jets so signing him was a projection…that turned out to be wrong.

I never watched a Banana Ball game but saw random clips. It’s probably not for me but I don’t get the hate. They created a successful niche product that seems to be working for the moment, so good for them. They already beat every iteration of the NFL.

Everyone is entitled to like what they like, and clearly A LOT of people like the SB. However, whenever I ask people why they like them, the answer is they do fun dances. As soon as I hear that, they alreaedy lose me. I don't give a rats behind about Tik Tok dance trends.

But he would have seen that on film I'd think. Or if not and he actually really endorsed the signing, would've given him a longer leash than he did. I don't believe that Fangio pounded the table for Huff or just generally supported the signing, and then (per Huff's words) made it evident to Huff that he was just not going to fit in training camp.

What teams do you think had the best offseasons and worst offseasons?

The bananas are fun because they're the equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters (obviously not as popular, yet), just a bunch of dudes having fun being goofballs while playing a sport.

Would he have seen that if the Jets never asked him to do it? Do you really think he wouldn’t have said something to Howie if he didn’t think Huff would fit? You have to have expectations that he would fit before signing off on paying a guy $51m and Vic is emphatically not a guy who keeps his thoughts to himself. We’ll never know for sure but we see this differently.

I’d say da Bears have had the best off-season and the Aints had the worst.

I think the most likely outcome was Howie and the front office identified Huff as someone they wanted and liked. Howie probably went to Fangio and said something like "We're going to sign Bryce Huff, we like his upside" and Fangio probably was just like "Ok, cool." And that was that. They probably had their sights set on Huff for months doing free agency prep work throughout the season, long before they even hired Fangio. So I do think they likely mentioned it to him or consulted him, and if he would have strongly objected, they may have rethought it. But my hunch is, it wasn't some lengthy hours long sit down where Howie and Fangio discussed how he was going to use him in the defense either.

I'm going to make my first attempt at smoking brisket tomorrow. Has anyone trimmed the night before? I feel like it's gonna take me longer to trim than the average person because it'll be my first time doing it and it's already gonna be a long day. Reddit of course had people saying they trim and season the night before with no issues, but i know some people in here are fairly experienced and at least sound like you know what you're doing
