Another question for the assembled multitudes, if Ojulari doesn’t make the 53-man roster, do the Eagles get the Isaiah Rodgers comp pick after all?

No, that would be ridiculous if you chose to sign someone that wasn't even good enough to make the 53 and expect to still get a comp pick back for it. Besides they are already maxed out at the 3 allowed.

The max is 4

Ah thanks for the correction but, still. Highly doubt they can get that pick back.

They wouldn’t be getting the pick back, because the Comp picks aren’t awarded until the Offseason begins in 2026. The current projection looks like the chart below with the Ojulari contract canceling the Rodgers contract. The question is, would that cancellation go away if Ojulari doesn’t make the team and the CFAs Lost goes down to zero.

This is what i found i think this is what you are talking about.

Yes, a team can still receive a compensatory draft pick even if a player they signed doesn't make the team, as long as the player they lost is a qualifying free agent and their departure contributes to a net loss of qualifying free agents.

I don’t know if the rules changed, but there was a timeline that you could cut players to undo the cancellation of a comp pick. I think it was by the trade deadline but I’m not sure.

I only know this for a fact because the Eagles cut Andrew Sendejo mid season so that he wouldn’t cancel out the Golden Tate comp pick.

Thanks. That makes sense.

Thanks for chasing that down.

Is there doubt of Ojulari making it? Feel like he’s probably going to given our depth on edge

I agree that the chances of him not making it are slim, but a question was asked, and I said I would chase down the answer.

I don't think that was the only reason. Another reason was that he was injuring his own teammates by flying in late with his eyes closed.

Question for the gamblers in here, will being able to only deduct 90% of your losses on your Federal tax, impact your betting? I have to believe for all the handwringing in some of the sports media that this will only impact large scale bettors.

Nah

But also didnt they change reporting for venmo etc to a much higher limit? Be easier to hide winnings

Excluding Super Bowls the Eagles have won, what are your top 5 best Super Bowls?

I was thinking about doing a thing some weeks back where I ranked every Super Bowl, but I decided I was too lazy. But I did revisit a few and I forgot how good that Steelers/Cardinals SB was. Cardinals got dominated for much of the game, somehow got the lead late because of two ridiculous Fitzgerald plays, and only got the ball back to take the lead because Holmes made another ridiculous catch on 3rd down where the Steelers were backed up on their own one inch line, but it was called back because of a holding in the end zone which was a safety. Then of course Steelers drive down at the end.

I googled to see what other people thought and a general consensus is everyone seems to love that Patriots Seahawks Super Bowl the most. It's certainly up there. That decision to throw the ball there has to be the dumbest in sports history, right? Was there any decision dumber in sports? That's something I'd never get over if that happened to the Eagles.

Anyway curious what your top 5 non Eagles Super Bowls are.

1) Patriots - Falcons

2) Patriots - Giants (first one)

3) Patriots - Seahawks

4) Steelers - Cardinals

5) Broncos - Packers

The Ice Bowl between the Packers and Cowboys in 1967 has to be on the list, even though it technically wasn’t a Super Bowl, but rather a NFCCG.

The 1979 Steelers-Cowboys SB XIII is generally considered to be #1

Here are two to add to others that have been posted:

Rams vs Titans

Patriots vs Panthers

I miss the days of Super Bowls being played outdoors. We don't get many of them these days. Even though I wasn't alive for the majority of them when most were being played at the Coliseum. Ironically, this season's will be outdoors. I believe Super Bowl 50 was played at Levi's too. There's just something about the atmosphere when you can see the actual sky and real natural noise instead of bottled up dome noise.

Other good ones are: both Niners Chiefs, Niners Ravens, Niners Bengals, Packers Broncos, Patriots Falcons, Giants Bills.

The Jets Colts SB stands out for me, not so much for the game itself as for the hype that led up to it. Namath guaranteeing a win was big stuff. Fifty-six years ago. Sigh.

Still a long ways to go, but encouraing to see this. That's some serious weight to put on one healthy knee.

His situation is going to be the most interesting going forward. Final year of his deal. He was great last year. To everyone's surprise his absence wasn't that big of a loss. Drafting Campbell in the first then. Dean by all accounts won't return until later in the season.

What happens? I think the hope is that Campbell can fill in but eventually transition into some sort of hybrid edge rusher and hopefully really shine there. Then Dean comes back. You would think they will almost surely be able to get him on a cheap 1 year prove it deal for a comeback but would he still if Campbell stays at LB? I think the play would try to get Dean on a cheap multi-year deal. Give him security and time to really get back form his injury and stay on a team with his college buddies. Give you the chance to be able to really move Jihaad around and and maybe let Dean take over when Baun's contract runs out. Although it would be awesome if Baun turns into one of these guys that just dominates into their mid-30s and stays with the team. But who knows.

The whole Dean contract situation is one of the most intriguing and under talked about storylines heading into this year.

Campbell as a floating weapon is intriguing. A healthy Dean is icing on the cake if he can come back and produce this season. Baun holds it down. Mondon will be an impact player too.

This D has amazing potential.

Might be busting my nut here, but I think the Eagles run it back in 2025.

Great time to be an Eagles fan!
