The list was made up by execs, coaches and scouts in the NFL

The attributes that Hurts has in spades are not ones that execs and scouts can easy quantify when assessing players. Coaches ought to be able to though.

I was curious

Percentage of on-target throws per pass attempt, excluding spikes and throwaways:

Geno 81.8%

Tua 81.3%

Goff 80.5%

Burrow 80.3% (crazy considering the amount he threw for)

Source for those interesting stats?

I also think a lot of these types get an initial opinion on players on other teams that's hard for them to separate from.

That answered a reporter’s call. Could be just a few. I doubt that Pro Personnel Scouts are going to answer, for example. Position coaches, maybe, but not necessarily QB coaches. I just don’t see Howie answering. So maybe Big Dom, who is both a "coach” and an executive. So quite possibly answers came from persons that haven’t watched a lot of film on each player. Pretty much BS.

Plus his stoicism doesn't win him many admirers.

I'd like to see Stroud bounce back. He's fun to watch

I wonder if Lawrence will bounce back

I think Williams will be better. They've built a nice team around him

Bo Nix will be interesting in his 2nd season

I hope they all suck.

What is the measurement for on-target. I think of McNabb, for example that had issues with touch resulting in short passes with too much velocity. On target but not easily catchable. Or all those shoestring catches Westbrook made when there wasn’t quite enough in the throw. Were those "on-target”. How about the timing throws where the QB threw it where the WR was supposed to be but the receiver wasn’t? What’s their metric?

I'm not into FF but I do watch other teams and there are players that are fun to watch for me

No idea. I'd assume they just go by the whole 'if it touches the receivers' hands then it's catchable' but they could use something more technical

I'm super curious why those players are being compared especially considering Daniels has 1 year lol

Content, nothing to talk about in the middle of summer sports wise

In that case I would have selected other QBs to compare to lol

Because these are players who were ranked above Hurts on that list.

He would have a checkmark in the All Pro column at least 🤷‍♂️

All but 1 of those stats are team stats though. You could argue SBMVP is still based on the player but they usually give it to the QB that won anyway. But the appearance and the win are team based

Disclaimer: that's not saying Hurts does or doesn't deserve his (because I know you would have replied about it lol)

Agree to disagree on the QBs impact on winning. The one stat that you say isnt team based still has only Hurts with the All-Pro and none of those other QBs.

Agreed. Hurts earned that 2nd team All Pro. There are other QBs that have that as well that get compared to Hurts a lot though

Isn’t that what ESPN was doing?

The list was the top 10/32. That picture RTK posted was a comparison of a few QBs on whether they had an All Pro, SB appearance, SBMVP, and a SB win that clearly was to display Hurts is better than those QBs

Who?

I would bet that NFL teams have a similar position as to the multinational I worked at for decades. Only certain people were allowed to talk with the press. I suspect the Eagles have dedicated (approved) leakers to get their messages out but otherwise the organization is pretty closed. The agents that excel with the press tend to control the message for their players too, which is why the "insiders” tend to post almost identical "breaking news”.
