I sometimes feel like I’m the only adult male who hates SciFi. Hate Star Trek. Hate Star Wars. Hate all of it.

What fiction do you like?

I'm with you. I keep seeing all of these posts about Interstellar so I decided to watch it on a flight home from Texas. I was bored and confused. I don't get the hype at all. It was one of the slowest movies I've ever watched. Haven't watched any Star Wars movies. You're not alone my friend.

I guess I'd rather watch Interstellar and not know what it happening, but try to figure it out, than a Marvel movie where it's rinse and repeat.

I WANT to like Interstellar, but I just don't understand it. Marvel/DC does nothing for me. I wouldn't even know where to start if I wanted to watch them. I've seen the Deadpool movies and enjoyed them, but that's it.

Throwback to the game of 2022.

I'm more or less forced to watch superhero movies because of my kids, but you have the right idea - once every 5 years is A-ok... the constant churn is exhausting. Normally, I wouldn't care as people like what they like and that doesn't usually affect me - but when 90% of the blockbusters made these days are the same warmed over script... it kind of feels like other ideas are getting boxed out.

The game of 2022 took place in 2023?

Interesting.

I thought Interstellar was made by some Hollywood guy who thinks he's smarter than he is. He read some article about black holes and time dilation without understanding either. The Marvel movies are just fluff. Sometimes they're entertaining. I am looking forward to the Hail Mary movie which is based on a book by the same guy that wrote The Martian. The Martian is a good sci fi movie.

I just saw F1 in the theaters. I really enjoyed that one.

The Martian is fantastic and imminently rewatchable.

The 2022 Kelly Greens, a rare, highly valuable collection.

I'm just catcihng up on the MLB All-Star game. So Kyle Schwarber won the game for the NL in a "swing off", but had NL pitching to him. I guess the purpose of the HR derby pitcher is to hang them in there for him to hit out. Just seems a bid odd to see the pitcher, catcher and batter all cheering for the HR.

15 years ago my Saturday's were dedicated to ESPN College Gameday. It was a terrific pregame show, nearly perfect. Now we have to choose between Pat McAfee or Dave Portnoy. What did we do to deserve this? It all goes back to sports betting now being the driver.

It will likely be a better book than a movie just as The Martian was a better book than a movie.

If Williams takes coaching then he has potential at OT. Little slow but I think part of that is conditioning. Trout would need to fix his feet and his bend, but that’s may be doable. I figure Hinton is a G/T. Pierce intrigues. Monster of a man. I do wonder if he takes to NFL conditioning. Will be interesting to see how Kinnard looks in year three. Never liked his lateral movement.

Trout's skills are still there, I mean, he's not AL MVP level anymore, but you can never question his Eagles' fandom.

I've seen a lot of people over the past few days saying there's way too much Pat Mcafee and I wonder what people are consuming. My only exposure to the guy is social media clips.

Do people just watch ESPN all day? If so, no idea how one could get Mcafee overexposure. And if you do watch ESPN that much then diversify your TV watching portfolio. Less sports, more other stuff.

But the reality is that sports news networks are struggling, it's why they have so many layoffs. They see how big of a following a lot of these indie personalities have and instead of trying to compete with them, they are trying to hire them and bring their audience with them.

Pretty sure he can't go back to CF but what a crap show that organization has become

What do you mean? That organization has always been a crap show.

Could Howie convince the Bengals to take a 2026 2nd just so they can get some value out of the situation?

Touche, but this offseason seems to be taking it to a new level

They are getting to the point they are about to lose a first round pick for nothing. Couldn't hurt. Would he be worth it is another question?

The only ESPN I watch is a live game or College Gameday in the Fall. I see way too many clips of McAfee all over social media. His fanbase has to be 25 and under. I saw some clips of him introducing the HR Derby and it's just so unprofessional. I'm not asking for a guy to be suit and tie up there, but do we really need frat bro vibes all over? ESPN has angry lesbians, angry black guys and dumb frat bros. That's their lineup. It's tired. I just want true sportscasters. Just something that's gone.

People are laughing at the Bengals but we are about a week away from Makuba returning to Texas stories.

Interstellar is lauded for how accurate it is in terms of quantum physics. If I remember correctly, it's Neil deGrasse Tyson's favorite movie. Chris Nolan is a terrific writer and director, tells stories like no one else.

It's fine if you guys don't like it, it's not everyone's taste, but it's a tremendous movie; well-written, good acting, perfectly filmed.

That's why I'm trying to like it. I know how well done it was. The production and visuals are top notch. I just don't know a damn thing about quantum physics or anything related. When MM went through the black hole and was then floating in the book shelf, it lost me.

I don't think its so much that they are a worse crap hole than they've been, they are just being exposed to new circumstances which highlight the crap hole they are. They are the same cheap organization they have always been... but now there are more ways for that to come to light.
