52 is just such a bad Eagles number. It’s nothing but jobbers through history. Barry Gardner was probably the best to wear it.

52 is a great number for Eagles' names! 😲.

Jessie might have a Small disagreement with who you say is the best!

Najee believes he was Goode.

Sylvester might think you are Wright.
Jason was only here a Short time.

Brian went on a quick Rolle out of here.

Davion Taylor ran himself right out of the competition.

For less punny names and more just unique...

Daniel Te'o-Nesheim
Pago Togafau

Vic Lindskog

But seriously... the best might be Kevin Reilly... if not for his on the field work, then for what he went through and what he did afterward off the field.

I'm going to contradict myself because I postedt that I hate sci-fi movies, but seeing you mention books reminds me that I used to LOVE Tom Swift books when I was a kid. My dad had all of the original hard cover books that he'd let me read and then they relased a New Adventures of Tom Swift back in the 90s. I really got in to those.

Funny you should mention Tom Swift. I loved those books when I was a kid. My mom was introduced to the original 1910s books by her Dad. When Tom Swift Jr. started coming out when I was young, she introduced them to me and I was hooked. Tom Swift Jr. and I grew up together with a dose of Encyclopedia Brown and the Hardy Boys. (With a smidgen of Doc Savage.)

I liked 93 better for Powell-Ryland.

Uche is going to bring to 0 exactly what Huff did

93 sucks for an OLB. I look at 52 as embracing that he must be an OLB.

I should probably just google it but I'm lazy. So is he doing this just because of specific language that he'd void all of his guarantees if he were to get into legal trouble?

Basically. But it’s also worth noting that Bengals have never done this with other picks including last years who was drafted lower. They have no basis for demanding the language be included other than they want it.

The Martian is fantastic and imminently rewatchable.

That’s Ridley Scott at his peak but still restrained. Love that film, the first Blade Runner, and, of course, Alien.

As books go, I liked the first book in the Dune series a lot but never managed to finish another one. The two recent movies were pretty good but just too damn slow. If I hadn’t read Dune I doubt I would have watched them through.

Movies and books? You just mention movies. I enjoyed Heinlien, Asminov and Bradbury (believe it or not, Playboy turned me onto Bradbury) in my youth. Ender’s Game.

But Star Trek peaked for me it’s first season, then my Scout meetings were on the day it moved to and that was it. 2001 was pretty cool when it came out as was Clockwork Orange. Best Star Wars was the first movie. (Of course, we were stoned sitting in the first row so when the Star Cruiser went over, it was pretty cool). But it went downhill fast. Indiana Jones movies were fun. Best Sci Fi movie was Alien, by a landslide. BTW (spoiler alert), I would have spaced that cat at the end just to be safe.

For me the best Sci fi movie was 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s based on an Arthur C. Clarke book, which is a snooze fest but that film, to me, transcends all other films, of every genre. Nothing comes close.

Interesting. I know they're a known cheap organization but I understand and wouldn't even be upset if Howie implemented it if it's just for legal problems

Yeah, he doesn't want any voids of his guarantees.

I think Brady and Peyton would have excelled at coaching if they had gone that route

I don’t know. Let’s take coaching as a whole. Remember when @just relax mentioned that Stout changed Seumalo’s stance to a C stance. That’s understanding what a player is best at, rather than coaching to what the coach thinks is the correct way. (Probably took me professionally longer than I will admit to understand that in coaching and leading others). That’s why I favor play development that understands each player’s strengths rather than the great minds of McVay, McDaniels et al. I am not convinced that either Peyton or Brady have that in them. (I suspect Eli beats Peyton in this category).

I think Peyton and Brady would be able to either decipher the defense for gameplays or teach the QB ok what to look for

I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I like watching the OL. Becton had me drooling last year. Hinton intrigues me but I'm concerned about his speed. 5.64 in the 40 is pretty ponderous. Stoutland likes to pull all his linemen and I don't know if Hinton can do it. In any event, I'll be watching him as much as I can.

It is intriguing that they have four rookie OTs plus Kendall in this TC. Going to be fascinating to follow.

If Williams takes coaching then he has potential at OT. Little slow but I think part of that is conditioning. Trout would need to fix his feet and his bend, but that’s may be doable. I figure Hinton is a G/T. Pierce intrigues. Monster of a man. I do wonder if he takes to NFL conditioning. Will be interesting to see how Kinnard looks in year three. Never liked his lateral movement.

Don’t forget Little Man Tate.

They could make a killer Tom Swift movie if they wanted to. I loved Tom Swift and his Flying Lab. Rather than making 50 Marvel Universe movies, let's look at some of the great action books of our past. I'm a bit intrigued by the AMC show Nautilis coming out that revolves around 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Washed Von Miller to Commies. They are so gonna be 8-9.

On WIP this AM they were comparing Hurts to Mcnabb, debating who is the better QB.

I think the perfect parallel to those two is Brady vs. Manning. IMO, Manning...at his best...played the position at a more pure level with greater virtuosity than Brady. He also had a little less help (although they both had lots). But Brady was at his best when Manning was at his worst...on the biggest stage. And he got all the titles.

Hurts and Mcnabb are the same comparison. Mcnabb at his best was capable of doing more than Hurts and just played at a higher level. But Hurts can be trusted more in a SB than on a random Sunday at 1pm in October, whereas Mcnabb was the exact opposite. Hurts has been to 2 superbowls, won one, and been great in both. Mcnabb....well....

Unless you want to say that Manning was better than Brady, I don't see how you can argue that Mcnabb was better than hurts.

Eh…not sure I get that comparison.

Were there some parts of McNabb’s game that was better? Sure…but Hurts is still young and has the desire to constantly improve. If you want to compare these two, to me it comes down to the trait of intestinal fortitude. Hurts is a gamer in the biggest moments…I never felt confident that McNabb could bring his best when needed.

He could Air Guitar with the best of them though…

For starters, it’s not just legal issues. They basically want to change the language for things beyond legal like any suspensions by the NFL, conduct detrimental to the team, on field ejections/suspensions etc. The key point is they didn’t do this exact language when they signed Chase or Higgins to their extensions or any former first round picks. For whatever reason they decided Stewart, the 17th overall pick, was their guy to draw a line in the sand which makes no sense. If they want to implement this language going forward it doesn’t make sense to alienate your mid first round pick and demand he agrees. Start with the mid level picks/signings and work your way up.

The second issue is they reportedly don’t want to make any concessions on their end. They could give him a bigger signing bonus but basically just want to give him the minimum deal he is entitled to by the CBA without making anything worth his while.

Howie has implemented a lot of this language into deals but he managed to do it without alienating a specific player and setting a precedent. Even this year he signed Cameron Williams, a 6th round pick, to a new, unique deal that they want to use to set a precedent for future deals. He’s also been trying this for 3 years now, while finally doing it for a 6th round pick and made concessions to get the player to agree. That’s the big difference.

Words cannot describe how great this guy is, how much of a beast he is, and what a freak he is to still be at the top of his game at 35 years old. Lists are so subjective and difficult but he is probably a top 10 Eagle of all time and definitely the greatest offensive lineman in Eagles history.

Throwback to the game of 2022.

I wonder how many more times Hurts has to go toe to toe with guys like Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, ans Burrow before people realize he is a top 5 QB in this league? Hell, since that ESPN list came out a bunch of other morons came out with lists where he wasn't top 10, although I think it's clearly rage bait because nobody would be dumb enough to have Hurts outside of the top 10. Some dude from the Athletic the other day had a top 10 list with Love, Dak, and Lawrence in the top 10 and no Hurts. Oh, and Mr. Overrated Justin Herbert was 5th.

lol
