I forget which reporter it was said the other day they still think Huff will be traded and they will eat the money. Otherwise, is he just gonna ride the bench for the entire season?

Made me think of the top position battles in camp:

RG - Green vs Steen... vs everyone else

Safety - Mukuba vs Brown

CB - Ringo vs Jackson

EDGE3/4 - Ojulari vs Uche vs Huff(could he even earn a spot given 2024?)

ILB2 - Trotter vs Mondon(if Campbell starts on PUP)

TE2(if Goedert stays) - Calcaterra vs Granson vs Bryant - to a lesser extent, I think Calc probably has TE2 close to locked up if not completely.

QB3 - McCord vs DTR

Any other notable battles?

He didn’t sound like he was kidding.

Part of me thinks he said this as response to tush push potentially being banned. If the tush push gets banned that the can still be effective Qb sneak with hurts but also believe having a good fullback with Barkley in short yardage/goal line will be super effective as well.

He was targeted 33 times and had 19 receptions in the regular season. Targeted 5 times with 3 receptions in the playoffs

About the same success rate of receptions with Commies but he also doesn't get targeted much in our offense

4 targets and 2 receptions in the game where he was the #1 target with Smith and Brown out.

And the two games prior to that with Brown out... he had 1 and 2 catches respectively.

So, 3 straight games where he was a 'starting' WR, and he had 5 catches for 25 yards. I'd hardly call that any kind of success in the role he was brought he for and that I am referring to. He was brought in to be a 'starting caliber' WR in the case of injury to Brown or Smith. They didn't give up the 3rd round pick for a WR3, they gave up the 3rd round pick for a guy to fill in as a starter when needed AND be WR3. As WR3, he's ok. As a fill-in for a starting role he continues to be disappointing.

One of the funniest parts from the Lurie interview was he unprompted brought up "it’s crazy that he (Graham) is known by his first and last initial. I’m not sure that has ever happened anywhere to anyone in sports”

He’s not even the first Eagle let alone multiple examples of anyone in sports.

Lurie is a great sportsman! rolleyes

It's like he doesn't know what is happening in sports. He's been a good owner, but he's proven multiple times to be a complete and total dolt when it comes to actually talking about it.

One of the first to ever go by his initials was an Eagles killer... but I'm sure he wouldn't know anything about LT. facepalm

He was called upon during the game where both Brown and Smith were out. He was the #1 WR that game. 2 catches, 11 yards on 4 targets. Not good enough. And if he's the best option we have after the top 2... there's a GULF between them and him. And he's head and shoulders above the next one after him.

I agree that there is a Gulf between him and AJ and DeVonta, but that’s true between WR3 and the first teo WRs of almost every team. Is the problem with the game you cited with the 4 targets or is it the problem with a 50% catch frequency or both?

They have one in BVS. But Jusczyk was cheap insurance if they werent comfortable with him coming off his knee surgery. And also more proven as a ball carrier and receiver, in line TE, F TE, etc. Would have been insurance, but still can get on the field in a variety of ways even if BVS is good to go from the start.

Cheap?

He's 2.5x more expensive than VanSumeran. Who pays more for their insurance policy than their asset costs?

The problem is that he is a bum

It's a nice problem to have though lol

Kellen used some layered depth routes to one side of the field to help him get through his reads faster in the playoffs. I was initially against the Dotson trade for this reason.

How can he forget TO?

Either he spoke without thinking... or he just has no idea what he's talking about.

It is usually a sign of respect when a player is called just by his initials, but not always.

With the Eagles there has been TO and JP in fairly recent history. Eagles destroyer LT leaps to mind. The GOAT has been called MJ for forever. Just ridiculous coming from him and it helps us all understand why he doesn't talk publicly often. So grateful for that.

I love that, but thats why the Mac McWilliams pick was the one pick that frustrated me. The nickel spot is filled. Right now, and in the foreseeable future. Best case scenario, DeJean is always healthy, and McWilliams is always a backup. In addition, he projects as a backup nickel as well. He doesnt have length to play on the outside. He wasnt the most impressive on tape, except that he had a great senior bowl week. If he becomes a backup, hes probably maximized his potential.

I dont like that pick much, and I dont understand how it fits with their philosophy with every other draft pick that was made.

If he can push for a starting spot, they might move DeJean outside. It's also possible that DeJean plays himself out of town because they can't afford him AND Mitchell. Who knows? One thing I do know... you can never have too many good CBs, inside or outside. So, I'm fine with that.

How soon we forget...

It's all of the above, including the 11 yards. ELEVEN, from the top receiving target, and he averaged 5.5 ypc. That's laughable.

DeJean was injured to start the season. They need depth at the position. There is uncertainty about how Ringo may play outside.

Doug Pederson coming up soon on WIP

Rams signed Britain Covey.

Not really related to Covey but Rams might be the biggest threat.

I would add APR to the Edge3/4 competition

There are tiers and he’s in the lowest tier based on snap count and Pro Bowls

Well s***, why didn't we pick up Dotson? He probably would have had to cut us a check to keep playing that 5th year.

@LeanMeanGM : I always thought 5th year options were cost controlled by draft position. I guess that's not the case? Or it is, but also factors in playing time, etc?

Yes, playing time also and Pro Bowls
