My biggest fear going into this season is that teams will look at what Spags did to Barkley in the Superbowl. They will look at what Schwartz and Tomlin did as well.

I have confidence in Hurts. What I wonder about is will the coaching staff adjust accordingly.

Same here. My daughter and I watched a bit of this season and it was particularly bad. Like they couldn't even find good contestants.

They put up 40 points on Spags. A lot depends on Hurts, of course, but packing the box to that degree to stop Barkley opens up a lot of other options.

I agree, but 17 points were directly from turnovers. We weren't as good offensively all season as we were in the SB. We struggled to win against the Jags, Browns, and Panthers - teams that earned top-ten draft picks. We were iffy against the Packers and Rams in the playoffs. We were outside the top-ten in offensive DVOA. Our passing game was objectively inconsistent. I hope that it will be able to step into any void created by less of a run game.

September at the Liacouras. Expensive though unless you want crap seats.

Well, Hurts had a really good passing day against Spags and Tomlin and even had a decent day against Schwartz.

And that's why Hurts doesn't get the same accolades as others and why few people actually put him in the top 5. Consistency matters when it comes to QB play.

Wonder if Diggs will ever be the same. And really sucks for Overshown -- guy could be great if he could stay healthy.

There will be some growing pains with the offense again. Moore and Nussmeier are gone and it's now the Patullo, Parks Frazier, and Scot Loeffler show. There will be posters (plural) wanting Sirianni fired again by Week 3.

The Chiefs actually had a good run defense so the game played out as expected. Just because the Eagles had restrictions on Hurts for most of the season doesn't mean they will again. I fully expect him to throw more this year and to get more respect as a passer.

For as much as I've disparaged Hurts in the past, he has always improved and built on his skill set to the point where he is one of the better QB's in the league. The work he did taking care of the ball, learning to live another down and taking over and understanding protections last year were the last few digs against him. It's been a long road but he's arrived and he should silence all the critics this year.

How the game has changed...

From 1970 - 1997 (28 drafts), only 8 QBs were taken first overall - Bradshaw, Plunket, Bartkowski, Elway, Testaverde, Aikman, George, and Bledsoe.

From 1998 - 2025 (28 drafts), only 6 NON-QBs were taken first overall - Courtney Brown, Mario Williams, Jake Long, Eric Fisher, Myles Garrett, and Travon Walker.

This is my worry as well. I also worry that they will deviate from their bread and butter after winning the Super Bowl. The good thing is, off the top of my head, 2 out of 3 of those games were really good Hurts games. Devoting so many resources to help against Barkley seemed to make things a lot easier for Jalen. (As it should)

Makuba did after hearing about Lurie’s cash issues.

Noah Fant, TE, was released

Too many teams will take a QB first overall even if it's not worth it

Best contract in sports if you get a hit on a QB. I would draft one every year as well
