The Flyers haven't been relevant for decades. They are on their cycle of hiring former players as GM then coach then going away from it then going back to it. All the while not actually achieving anything at all

They were under Chuck Fletcher. Never should have fired him. Was the best GM in NHL history.

Wow. They really have no expectations for Terrance Marshall.

What, you've never seen a good WR wear a number in the 40s?!

I was thinking Brian Westbrook.

Only one I can think of... Paul Warfield.

They have one in BVS. But Jusczyk was cheap insurance if they werent comfortable with him coming off his knee surgery. And also more proven as a ball carrier and receiver, in line TE, F TE, etc. Would have been insurance, but still can get on the field in a variety of ways even if BVS is good to go from the start.

The operative word here is "was”.

The Rams are just a completely schizophrenic team IMO -- they can beat anyone, and they can lose to anyone. They put up 44 to beat the Bills, everyone got excited, and then 12, 19 and 13 against the 49ers, Jets and Cards to close out the season (ignoring week 18 when they played backups). I never know what to expect from them. If they make the playoffs, Stafford still can go on a heater and carry them. But they could also get shut out. Nothing surprises me with that team. My main takeaway is...they're soft. I think we can bully them again and again on the ground.

I think Washington misses the playoffs. Comically overhyped. 8 one score wins, including the haily mary against the Bears, last second against us w/o Hurts and CJGJ, last second stop against ATL and Mariota beating Dallas. They added over the hill guys with names (Deebo and Tunsil). And everyone slobbering over Daniels who was good, not great.

The Lions will be the challenge in the NFC.

Totally disagree about Washington. They added two very good OTs, a quality #2 WR and Daniels is only in his second year. McLaren is no longer the only guy to throw to. They know what they have now, which is a big part of what a team is and how they play, and they beat us once already. Lest we forget, they were a one score away before their turnover last time round. Do I think we’re better? Yes, but not as much as you seem to think. I think they give us all we want and more.

Welp, Flyers pick 6th. Nothing too exciting there and quite possibly their worst possible outcome.

Shouldn't shock anyone. Of course they dropped 2 spots. That team is cursed.

And then you have the Browns essentially using three draft picks to take Dillon Gabriel at #94, Shedeur Sanders at #155 and using #164 to trade for Kenny Pickett. Fortunately, no matter what happens, they’ve got 40 year-old Joe Flacco — who, I guess, they only guaranteed $3M to bring in.

That feels like a training camp battle where three are competing for a backup QB role, while the other will be cut outright.

Apropos of nothing, it's amazing how the Eagles have become the franchise now that other fanbases look to, to take down dynastic teams. I never thought I'd see the day. That used to be me rooting for teams to take down Dallas in the 90s or the Patriots in the 2000s. Now other fanbases do it with the Eagles.

This interview of Howie by Dan Patrick has probably been posted before, but it never gets old.

Deebo is garbage and got less separation than any other receiver last year. He’s not a quality 2, he’s barely an NFL receiver at this point and they are paying him over 17 million. Tunsil is on the downside of his career and had 19 penalties last year. They drafted a guy at 29 - we’ll see if he can play. They won a bunch of close games on fluke plays and the schedule gets harder.

Signature bet? I will say they have a losing record.

Is that true?

Well there you have it, and both were converted RBs. Bad sign for Marshall.

And that's why they are one of the best teams at drafting. No delusionsof grandeur, just hard reality.

More than that, because they traded up to get in front of the Eagles to draft Sanders.... and boy did they seem thrilled about it, just after the selection in the war room... and then later at the press conference. It really makes you wonder if the NFL pushed them to draft him. They looked like death row inmates awaiting execution with that selection.

Took me a sec to think who that was. Then I remember it was Debo "Stay Puff" Samuel.

Depending how we define quality I don't know if we agree. He's been meh since 2022 IMO.

Starting to believe that they are. On the same night they drop 2 spots in the lottery, two former goalies went head-to-head in the playoffs (before Stolarz got hurt).

Next domino to fall is Carter Hart has all charges dropped, comes back to the NHL and becomes a top goalie again.

Their owner pushed, not the NFL.

And MM not in the running for the Calder. He led all rookies in goals, 2nd in total points, 3rd in assists.

Yea, that's the true head scratcher. Don't understand how he isn't in the running at all.

The NHL is better when Philadelphia has a Playoff team and it seems everything goes the opposite direcetion for them to get there again.

Gosh! Our opinions differ.

BVS blew his knee against BAL in NOV, will he be back for TC or more likely PUP? I guess the question is, is an ACL injury an >8-month injury.
