I think it's most likely that Carter has some soreness, he played a lot of snaps last season, so they're just taking it easy with him. But I think there's an outside chance they're working on an extension with him and his agent is recommending he not practice until it gets done. It would be a year earlier than they usually extend guys, but I wonder if they want to get out in front of it now so they save money in the long run, because that price is only going to go up.

They can't extend him until after this season. You can't do an extension until a draft pick has played 3 seasons.

What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

By rule, a drafted player can't sign an extension until after the end of his third season.

Edit: what v83 said.

So would you say he's...in the best shape of his life? ph34r

Interesting. Weird and probably a bad sign. But still, interesting.

Man, it’s crazy in a span of a few days we lost one of the most influential rock musicians of all time and also Ozzy Osbourne.

He should have done that a long time ago

Looks good, saying all the right things. Wonder if watching Carter not come off the field last season motivated him.

This team is so loaded, I found myself scraping the bottom of the barrel for concerns.

Another is Carter getting a suspension for a flagrant head slap or other unnecessary roughness. He has a vicious streak in him and the players/coaches have done a decent job containing it. But we saw in the Steelers game that sometimes, in the moment, he will go for the helmet.

I'm all for whatever Carter does as long as it doesn't cause a flag. Play mean within the rules so it doesn't hurt the team

CB2 is my #1, 2, and 3 concern. Steen will be replacement level at worst, Jalyx will be fine, they'll figure something out at safety. There's real risk that the CB2 is bad.

Vic talking about him is interesting...

Interested to hear how the rookies and second year players are doing as the weeks go by till the start of the season. Hearing that Coop has been playing some safety. I wonder how deep this team really is in the secondary now. Maybe Coop plays safety in base and moves to slot in more pass sets.

That has been happening in camp when they go to nickel. Having him at safety in base keeps him on the field 100% of the time.

And it tells me they have more faith in Ringo and Jackson than Brown/Mukuba at this point. Which makes sense as Jackson is a vet and Ringo is in year 3 (Brown missed a year basically).

Amen
