Great LB, was the best since Trotter for the Eagles until Baun came around. Only issue was he couldn't stay healthy.

A SB in Philly would be so boring for fans. Mostly unfriendly people (amplified for almost any NFC teams fans) not much to do, bleak weather. I suspect the 4 days leading up to the SB there would be a record number of fights in the streets of Philly.

NFL snow game is peak in person sports experience

For some people but by no means all. In 59 years there has been exactly one Super Bowl (XLVIII) played in a cold weather open stadium and that was in New York, a center of the media universe. If I'm building a stadium with an eye toward uses beyond 12 or so football games per year, or maybe 20 games or so including college games. the ability to enclose the venue seems pretty compelling.

Yea, Imagine the Eagles lose in the NFCCG only to have to host that team in 2 weeks. No way in hell that would go well.

He probably would have stayed an Eagle if Lurie had money.

Still it would be better than one in the Meadowlands.

I had a old cab driver in the Jersey shore recently who claimed he recently drove the new long snapper. Apparently he told him Howie didn't like how much penetration happened up the middle on punts so he decided to move on.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter for more breaking long snapper hearsay.

Clearly fake, cab drivers don’t exist anymore grandpa

I’m not even sure they would select Philly for a SB even if it was a dome. The location of the stadiums kind of suck for everything that goes into it.

Might see another Isaiah Rodgers situation where we sign him and he misses the year. Then we reap the rewards next year.

Why would the Eagles sign him to a 2 year deal when he can't play this season?

This is the only punt the Eagles had blocked. It was blocked by an edge rusher but it didn't help that the punt protector had to block the rusher that jumped over Lovato.

My favorite Jordan Hicks memory was when he showed up to camp hurt after he came back from his honeymoon under suspicious circumstances.

In Philly. After he left he played in every game the following 4 seasons.

This is really going to suck isn't it? We're going to get monochromatic unitards or all black uniforms for every team. Looks like they've taken all but two colors out for every team. Dolphins, Jets, Patriots and Rams looked to be lining up for all black.

Oh, they added the Bills. Another logo stripped of all but 2 colors. GREAT.

So, I was thinking last night about the dumpster fire, clown show that is the Dallas front office, and I think there's an important thing we aren't mentioning. Tyler Smith was a 2022 1st round pick who is eligible for a contract extension. He is a 2x pro bowler, 1x 2nd team all pro and clearly one of the top LGs in the league and really the only above average player on that line. And there hasn't been a single word about them trying to extend the guy -- no one in the media even brings it up. Howie locked up Cam (2022 2nd rounder) this offseason, and locked up Dickerson (2021 2nd rounder) last offseason. If you want to see well Smith has the 5th year option, Howie locked up DeVonta last offseason too. Meanwhile, Dallas doesn't even think about it...

Dallas used to draft well, but the 2023 and 2024 classes have been bad. 2023 - Mazi Smith is a bust, Schoonmaker is meh, Overshown can't stay healthy, and Deuce Vaughn might be the best of the bunch. 2024 (I know it's early) -- Guyton looks overmatched so far, Kneeeland did nothing last year, Beebe was OK at center and Carson might stick on the roster. So basically -- who the hell is Jerry saving money for? We have to pay JC, Nolan, Q, Coop and maybe Hunt from those classes.

Jerry Jones really is the worst owner and GM in the sport.

Lazy and is going to look terrible. Powder Blues are there to be used.

To have him for the following year. Same as they did with Rodgers.

Why do you want a SB in Philly? Just for the chance that it becomes a home game?

What if the Cowboys are playing in that game? All of their fans with their Cowboy jerseys and Yankee caps walking around Center City for a week. What a f-ing nightmare!

The SB location process isn't broken and let's keep our homefield advantage for the playoffs.

Many reasons. Just being able to host a SB whether your team is going to be in it or not

People are scoffing at the idea because getting a retractable roof would mean they'd use it a lot which is taboo to a lot of fans

It would be 10 years from now so who knows what the state of the team is and what the ownership structure is. But hypothetically if it was now both Lurie and Roseman seem like the type who would ask the players and coaches if they would want it open or closed in a playoff game.

Then they are asking the wrong people... because the coaches and nearly all of the players would want to play in pristine conditions... they don't want all their hard work to fall prey to the elements.

But, the real ones to ask are the fans... they are where the money really comes from.

Jerry Jones isn’t cashed strapped and therefore doesn’t have to sign guys early. He gets to sit back and watch all the cards being played BEFORE he makes a move.

Does this mean he pays top dollar for everyone? Sure. But because he waits until the last minute he is sure that the people he signs are healthy. Could you imagine signing a guy a year early only for them to get injured in the name of saving a few bucks?

Lurie could then auction off a chance for a fan to come in and create the weather for the game.

I mean we all know that he is broke so this is a great opportunity for him to make some cheddar.

But... he won't be able to sell the game live snow anymore.

LOL! Like the Cowboys could make a Super Bowl while Jerruh still runs the team!

Let's be honest, that time frame is coming to a close soon.

I have no desire to see a Super Bowl in Philly in part for that reason. Odds are very low the team from that stadium plays in it. The back to back years of Tampa and the Rams winning at home was an anomaly. I have no desire to see the Linc, (or any future Birds stadium) endzones painted in another teams colors, nor do I want another team winning it all on our turf. I’m petty like that.

And spraying champagne all over our locker room... and filling the air with their cigar smoke.

How long is the cash strapped joke going to last for?
