He’ll be selling knock off merchandise and cold soft pretzels in K lot

Yea, Imagine the Eagles lose in the NFCCG only to have to host that team in 2 weeks. No way in hell that would go well.

So close to that happening to Minnesota when the Eagles won. Just as heartbreaking for that stupid fan base, having the team that knocked them off winning on their home field two weeks later.

So, I was thinking last night about the dumpster fire, clown show that is the Dallas front office, and I think there's an important thing we aren't mentioning. Tyler Smith was a 2022 1st round pick who is eligible for a contract extension. He is a 2x pro bowler, 1x 2nd team all pro and clearly one of the top LGs in the league and really the only above average player on that line. And there hasn't been a single word about them trying to extend the guy -- no one in the media even brings it up. Howie locked up Cam (2022 2nd rounder) this offseason, and locked up Dickerson (2021 2nd rounder) last offseason. If you want to see well Smith has the 5th year option, Howie locked up DeVonta last offseason too. Meanwhile, Dallas doesn't even think about it...

Dallas used to draft well, but the 2023 and 2024 classes have been bad. 2023 - Mazi Smith is a bust, Schoonmaker is meh, Overshown can't stay healthy, and Deuce Vaughn might be the best of the bunch. 2024 (I know it's early) -- Guyton looks overmatched so far, Kneeeland did nothing last year, Beebe was OK at center and Carson might stick on the roster. So basically -- who the hell is Jerry saving money for? We have to pay JC, Nolan, Q, Coop and maybe Hunt from those classes.

Jerry Jones really is the worst owner and GM in the sport.

Maybe Guyton figures it out someday, but his prospect profile screamed bust in flashing neon lights.

To have him for the following year. Same as they did with Rodgers.

They signed Rodgers to a one year deal that tolled while he was suspended. Here, the contract wouldn't toll for injury. So you'd have to sign him for 2 years to have him in 2026.

At the very least, he was a project who wouldn't be close to ready to play as a rookie. I think he only played like 8 games at RT in college, Jerry put him in as the starting LT...

This is really going to suck isn't it? We're going to get monochromatic unitards or all black uniforms for every team. Looks like they've taken all but two colors out for every team. Dolphins, Jets, Patriots and Rams looked to be lining up for all black.

They want ti break what's not broken... all to chase a few stray dollars they think might be out there.

Many reasons. Just being able to host a SB whether your team is going to be in it or not

People are scoffing at the idea because getting a retractable roof would mean they'd use it a lot which is taboo to a lot of fans

Except he did a photoshoot with a SB watch and posted it to his social media...

I will never understand why fans would care at all about their stadium hosting a Super Bowl. There is no appeal of that that comes close to making it okay to lose the outdoor atmosphere and home field advantage of games.

Who else remembers the uproar in here (old site, ackshually) the night the Eagles drafted Jordan Hicks?

Oh please. Your head would explode if Hurts played in the SB in the Eagles stadium

I'm ok with that. My assumption in this scenario is that we get him pretty cheap for an IR year, and then a prove it year.

I'm not talking like a 2 year 50M deal

But he gets to be the worst owner while spending time with his family. Priceless.

I have no desire to see a Super Bowl in Philly in part for that reason. Odds are very low the team from that stadium plays in it. The back to back years of Tampa and the Rams winning at home was an anomaly. I have no desire to see the Linc, (or any future Birds stadium) endzones painted in another teams colors, nor do I want another team winning it all on our turf. I’m petty like that.

That also means that the Eagles natural grass would almost certainly become artifical. We'd be going from an outdoor natural grass team to an indoor artificial grass team, all for the chance to host the SB once every 10 years? Nope. Let the Sixers build their new arena and that can hold Final Fours. I hate everything about the idea.

The stadium where the Super Bowls are played means absolutely nothing to me. If anything they should just be held in the LA Coliseum because that is a very beautiful place to play football, at least from a TV viewer standpoint.

The Coliseum is a friggin dump. You can't be serious. Did you mean the Rose Bowl?

Wherever the Rams were playing during that 2017 season.

They are going to put an * on the Eagles Super Bowl.

Wilkins will be 30 for the 2026 season and want an 8 figure guarantee.

That's the Coliseum - it's a complete dump located in a horrible part of town. Nobody wants to play or watch a game there.

Could you invest in the area around it though? It's an iconic building.

The area around it is downtown LA, where nobody ever goes. USC is basically surrounded by a war zone on all sides.

SoFi Stadium is expandable to 100,000+ seating capacity and has all the modern luxury suites, etc. The idea of permanently hosting the Super Bowl in the 100+ year-old Coliseum is ..... ...... interesting.

Is profanity still not allowed on the EMB?

Bored on a slow Friday, so went back and tweaked my predictions. Predict each game, then see the results and go back through it. Here are my takeaways:

  • Despite Jerry's incompetence, Dallas will manage to finish 2nd in the division but miss the playoffs. They still can't run it or stop the run, but adding Pickens will let them score on bad defenses. The simple answer is they will be what Dallas has always been -- beat up on bad teams, lose to good teams.

  • Washington will have a losing record because they had an ABYSMAL offseason. Somehow they made one of the worst run defenses in the NFL worse, and they added a #2 WR who is washed and can't play anymore. Add on being the oldest team in the league, and I am being generous at 8 wins. I wouldn't be shocked to see them 6-11. Easily the most overrated team in the league. EASILY.

  • Detroit will take a step back, but so will Minnesota, and I just don't believe in Green Bay and Jordan Love. No beating up on the AFC South this year. The interior offensive line in Detroit could be a real problem. And I'm already worried about the Bears and reports that Caleb isn't working hard. Seems like the next Trevor Lawrence -- overrated bust who peaked early in his college career.

  • Tampa Bay is a lot better than people think. Baker is good.

  • The Rams are the biggest competition in the NFC. I don't buy the 49ers easy schedule hype.

  • Buffalo will run away with the AFC East again.

  • Every year I think Cincinnati will be good, every year I am wrong. I will stick with tradition.

  • The AFC South is a dumpster fire. Lawrence is a bust, I don't think Ward will be great, and Daniel Jones vs. Anthony Richardson is like choosing between HIV and AIDS

  • KC will win the division, but barely. Denver is overhyped, but I've never believed in Payton as a coach

They can set up a design that rolls out the grass to grow in the sun and then roll back in the stadium.

What could go wrong??
