If Kelee is truly losing his slip on the CB spot, then maybe Jaire Alexander would've been a smart gamble after all.

Yeah, if for nothing else depth. I know others prefer other names but AS Jr is still out there.

I don't see how Wilson makes the team

Guess he didn't want to be Fredo?

If Wilkins is healthy enough to play(and I'm not sure he is) he'd be a big addition to add this late in the game.

Poor organizations do what poor organizations do. Whether it was this or the first scenario reported, a decent coaching staff would resolve it with the affected players before it ever became public discussion.

They are good now, but they have space, and he wouldn't cost them a pick. Depth comes in handy, as we saw last year.

From the story above "Robinson beat Laekin Vakalahi twice with a couple of cross chop moves. Vakalahi isn't exactly Lane Johnson, but Robinson looked athletic, and like he has a pass rush plan"

"Jackson also had nice coverage on a back shoulder throw to Terrace Marshall. I'm not sure if Jackson got a hand on the ball or not, but he was all over Marshall, making it a very difficult catch that Marshall could not make.

Jackson has outplayed Kelee Ringo so far."

"We noted in Saturday's practice notes that rookie UDFA Montrell Johnson had an explosive run after a nice jump cut. He had another explosive run today that got the attention of Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts, who both went out of their way to give Johnson kudos after the run."

"In backup edge rusher news, Azeez Ojulari beat Jordan Mailata for a sack. Sixth-round rookie Antwaun Powell-Ryland also had a sack, beating Cameron Williams."

I'm greedy, but I'd love for APR to play like Hunt did last year. I'm a fan so I'm allowed to dream ;)

Well, with 4 days in the books, here are some random thoughts by position group.

QB: Nothing really surprising here. Nice to hear DTR had a good day Saturday, but this is going to be Hurts/McKee/McCord. I really don't think we learn much of anything about them as we don't know specifically what they are working on.

RB: Despite the constant posting by this section's troll saying he'll be cut, AJ Dillon seems to be having a good camp, particularly catching the ball. I like Shipley, but having Dillon to take the load off Barkley will be helpful.

WR: Liking what we are hearing about Marshall and Dotson. I thought they'd keep Wilson for STs, but seems like maybe he will be the odd man out.

OL: I'm not concerned about Steen, yet...but if he struggles when the pads come on, might be time for Pryor to get some reps with the 1s. I thought Steen was fine in the NFCCG, so I doubt we give up on him that fast.

TE: I haven't heard ANYTHING about the guys going for TE3. Feels like we keep Goedert and Calcaterra on the 53 and have a rotating cast on the PS to elevate as TE3.

DE: Concerning that we haven't heard much, if anything, about Ojulari or Uche. Hunt playing well is great, but the depth guys really don't seem to be making an impact. I still think this is a place where we look to add.

DT: I've always been irrationally optimistic about Ojomo taking over for Williams, but he seems to be backing that up. Him beating Dickerson in 1-on-1s today makes me less concerned that he's simply beating up on Steen. And Davis...if he can stay in shape...I really think we are fine here.

LB: Obviously Campbell practicing is the big news, and I feel like he should be next to Baun week 1. Trott seems to be fine/adequate as a spot starter and backup.

CB: Feels like Vic wants to go with the vet in Jackson. Maybe they are trying to send a message to Ringo, but it seems maybe Vic wants one vet in the secondary at least. Jackson is fine -- sort of an average NFL player.

S: Really no feel for who is winning the job between Brown and Mukuba. Obviously Mukuba being out is an issue if it lasts.

Gray was the talk of the other camps, but we haven't heard much from him over the last week. Steen seems to get beat every practice, but like you said he might be fine when the pads come on. I'm rooting for Mukuba but it's not ideal that he couldn't last a week with his size concerns.

I think Steen will be fine. He's been solid in real NFL snaps and to me that's all that matters. I wasn't a huge fan of Ringo coming out of college(stiff hips) but he did play well in limited snaps in the NFL. Though I will say there were a couple times last season where he got beat deep but the plays weren't made. If Nolan and Hunt really keep up development I'll be less concerned about Edge. That has been my #1 concern all offseason. CB2 could replace that. Slay was really good last year, and if Ringo struggles, moving from Slay to him or Jackson would be a downgrade. Stephon Gilmore is still out there. So is Samuel Jr but he's more of a slot.

I'm not a Sydney Brown fan, so if Mukuba can't win that job, it'd be a major concern for me. But I think Mukuba will win it pretty easily, health provided.

Nothing the first two weeks of TC means much.

I could be wrong, but I thought Smith has missed time in the past. I'm not concerned at all about them starting I'm worried about how big of a step down it is to the guys behind them vs BG an Sweat with Smith and Hunt coming off the bench. We can't have it all, but in a perfect world they'd have one more who they could really depend on vs jags.

That 4-5 million a year they saved fixing CB2 will hopefully not come back to bite them.

That's why I've been pounding the table for Za'Darius Smith. He will give you 6-8 sacks easy. He may not be a premium rusher he once was, but he can be a guy who mixes in and kinda gives you what BG did. He's still out there(for now).

I can even understand the CJGJ trade, but not re-signing Becton at the money he got from the LAC was baffling then, and worse now.

Over his career, the Eagles averaged 30 points a game when Steen played the majority of snaps. He is an average OG. The other four guys are no worse than top five at their respective positions. We've been spoiled.

Becton and CJGJ had strong facets to their games, but were also flawed in others. Howie paid their two All-Pros this off-season and is waiting to pay the young guys. Trust Stoutland University.

I must have missed this being mentioned

F Cancer. I'm not a Deion fan, but thrilled for him and his family.

I think Ojomo has some of the same limitations Williams had in prior seasons against the run. I thought this was a good review of some of his issues:

He's not going to be an effective run stopper at times. The play against Dallas where the center tries a reach block but Ojomo is already in the backfield is a good example of his strength against the run to his side. The 2 plays against Washington show the problems he has.

That was a good breakdown, so thank you for posting it. It pretty much goes in line with my sense of Mojomo although he looked a bit better than I recalled. I expect Vic will look to match him against certain players and keep him away from others. One of my concerns is how much Vic likes to play with a light box and two undersized edge rushers. That puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the DTs to hold up. That's not Ojomo's strength but it is Davis's strength. If the latter can play significantly more snaps they can keep Zack and Jihaad clean and the defense should be very tough.

We know what every other HC in the league is paid.

How does that relate to whether we know what you are paid? You are dodging the question.

I beg to differ. Steen has not been solid in real NFL snaps. He's pretty big but he's not particularly strong or quick. He got a lot of help last season.

I would like to be wrong about this.
