Would be embarrasing for Ringo to switch to #7 and then be a backup.

For like the 800th time, coaches contracts aren't filed with the league since there is no salary cap. Sometimes they leak, sometimes they don't. We do not have transparency to every head coach contract, despite what a troll wants to claim.

Untrue. We all know this is because Lurie is broke and does not want the other owners to know it. That is the only reason why.

Sorry, it is hard to break from this schtick. I understand why the troll keeps doubling down on it all the time.

The Christian Wilkins incident came out. He just wanted to give his teammate a big ol smooch on the head and someone didn’t like it

But do we know which head?...

No, you have a point. The $7 million a year is prior to the extension.

Sounds like it might be time to bring in another CB. Best available options are ASJ, Rasul Douglas, and Stephon Gilmore.

I think Howie is fully committed to the youth movement, especially on defense. I think moves like Byard and Leonard in 2023 taught him a lesson. I'm not sure Asante is a good fit despite being young. If Ringo doesn't win the job, I expect Jackson to start.

Any word at all on Ricks?

I haven't heard a thing about Ricks. I'm really disappointed to here that Ringo is struggling so much but perhaps that is my fault and others who have hyped him up. He was a fourth round pick after all.

Byard has been solid in Chicago. That entire defense was a mess in 2023 due to coaching so I wouldn't put that on Byard being washed up. Leonard's back was shot and he simply couldn't play anymore.

Actually I think it was the head on his shoulders.

The one caveat I would say about Ringo, he needs experience and.....what better experience than going up against AJ and Devonte every day? I mean, jesus.....you're talking about two of the top receivers in the NFL. I mean Q is a freak and probably in year 1 was one of the top 10 CB's in the NFL as a rookie, now maybe top 3. We are not going to have all-pro's at every position...let the pup learn and grow. Honestly not that worried....and, the pads haven't even come on yet.

He is part of a profession where it is standard practice for the size of their contract to become common knowledge.

Just like any other deal a sports franchise hands out, it is the most telling of what an organization really thinks about someone and where they place their value among their peers around the league.

I have the theory and I still have it that they low balled him. That is why it took so long to grt done and that is why the details have not come out.

Let’s drill down into that assertion of standard practice. There are 26 coaches listed on the Eagles website. How many of those coaches do we know what they are paid?

I imagine that the only thing that is standard practice in this dialogue is the standard practice of your curiosity about the personal lives of other people

Hard not to worry when there are so many reports coming out of camp about him being beat and Jackson getting more first team reps so far.

I don't care about what the other coaches make. It's not standard practice around that league for that information to become available like it is for the head coaches.

The fact that it hasn't become public so far, especiallafter how long it took the deal to get done is highly curious. Coming off a Super Bowl win, his second Super Bowl appearance as a HC and being a HC that has never missed the playoffs you wpulf think he would be getting at least $15M per year.

Certainly doesn't seem like that is the case though. Eagles likely low balled him.

I don't want to panic yet and kill Ringo's confidence all together. Maybe he's a gamer. Adoree Jackson isn't a terrible CB so it's not surprising to hear that he looks decent. Let them battle it out. Even if Ringo isn't it, I'd rather see what Eli Ricks brings to the table before we start searching the streets.

Another thing to keep in mind. If you're not a Fangio guy, he won't want you here. If it's clear Ringo isn't it. Ringo and one of the 13 picks could be an enticing trade package.

Another thing. All we have to go off of are tweets by the Eagles beat writers, and hafl the time they contradict each other so who really knows. Fangio has Jackson up first. He's a veteran and probably knows a few tricks of the trade. I want to see game action.

Maybe because he's really good and clearly their WR1.

McWilliams is getting some attention too. He may not be ready as rookie, but can develop down the road.

He’s fine but about to be 30 and not a picture of health in his career. I get they don’t have much of a choice but I’m much happier giving Devonta Smith who’s healthier, younger and better basically the same deal.

I'm curious where they rank Mitchell

Terry McLaurin (Commanders): Mitchell held McLaurin to just 1 reception for 7-10 yards on 4 targets (with one interception by Mitchell). In another game, Mitchell was not targeted when lined up against McLaurin.

CeeDee Lamb (Cowboys): Mitchell allowed 1 catch for 5 yards.

Ja'Marr Chase (Bengals): Mitchell allowed 2 catches for 16 yards.

Mike Evans (Buccaneers): Mitchell allowed 2 catches for 19 yards.

Amari Cooper (Browns/Texans): Mitchell allowed 1 catch for 10 yards.

Malik Nabers (Giants): Mitchell allowed 9 yards.

Drake London (Falcons): Mitchell allowed 5 yards.

Chris Olave (Saints): Mitchell allowed 23 yards.

Cooper Kupp (Rams): Mitchell allowed 5 yards.

Puka Nacua (Rams): Mitchell allowed 14 yards.

Zay Flowers (Ravens): Mitchell held Flowers to 0 yards.

That's a pretty crazy list for a rookie

I completely agree, but that's the advantage of Howie doing business the way he does and locking guys up early. They end up getting the bargains as a result. Sutton is fine on that deal as long as his injury problems are in the past and he looked really good last season and developed good chemistry with Bo Nix.

What's even more important is that we know how much he is being paid.

Howie has a chance to do the funniest thing ever...

Broken collar bone usually is multiple months recovery, so if they did, probably wouldn't be til multiple months into the season. He could be this year's Lewis Cine. A first round guy who has sucked, but Howie is trying as a reclamation project.
