There's probably a joke in there somewhere. I'm sure Wilkins will get to the bottom of it though

Huh? Lot of speculation on here. Maybe call it interpretation. Hell most of the statistics and even a fair bit of the media posts are rendered as support for a specific speculation, interpretation, or opinion.

This time of year there is definitely more speculation, but it only lasts for less than 60 days. Come September 1 the proportion of speculation nose dives.

I do believe there is difference between speculation and interpretation. Speculation can be conjured out of thin air, and often has no more substance than that thin air. RTK’s obsession with Lurie’s access to cash is a perfect example. Interpretation starts with input and massages that input in the light of its context. I will agree that the input often can be questioned, and the logic that guides the interpretation can be biased, but in the worst interpretation case there is still a basis for back and forth dialogue, and the likelihood that knowledge will be gained.

RTK will no doubt disagree strongly, but I see this Blog as a classroom and I come to it each day to leave at the end of that day more knowledgeable than I was when I arrived … and the bonus to it is that it is fun along the way to the knowledge gain.

May or may not be ready for opener.

Let me guess, another boob in the stands! Funny how if an NFL player craps or pees his pants, it's a SC Not Top Ten, but they won't show her wig getting torn off.

After some reflection, I think that is a reasonable take. Dawkins fans could easily disagree, of course.

As a self-proclaimed Dawkins fan, I think a case could be made for either one. Dawk was much more flash and much more of an emotional leader, leader by example on the field, and a tone setter. His two massive hits on Crumpler and then Vick in the NFC CG in 2004 really told the story of that game. Meanwhile, Johnson has been as steady as steady comes at the RT position. Maybe he gets knocked a bit for the PED suspensions, but when he's been out there, its hard to argue that there's been a better RT since he came into the league. It's not a glamour position, so it doesn't stand out as much, but the way that he allows the offense to operate without ever really even thinking about offering him help opens up the playbook like crazy.

So, I don't know which is better... Dawk or Johnson, but I'd put Johnson ahead of Kelce... which is no small feat in its own right. Dawk or Johnson... it almost depends on if you prefer offensive football or defensive... flash plays or steady excellence.

First noticed DeJean by his college tapes played on his draft night. Impressed by his professional demeanor and confident in his games. During his rookie season, two plays stood out: the textbook take-down of Henry and the pick-6 in SB. He has caught a lot of praise for an illuminating season. Hope he could keep his head in the right place and keep on making plays.

BTW, as a RS, DeJean was just so-so. Looks like they are getting someone else to take that job. Better that way and also de-risk his chance of getting injury.

I'll add a third that really showed me that he was special... the 4th and 1 play against the Bengals where they game planned an ISO for Chase on DeJean... and he stayed with him through the motion, ran through the trash, and made the tackle on him in the open field, one on one. Just textbook play by a rookie on a really tough assignment.

Typical of ML Football (pretty sure that is OTA film), there is crap with it. Eagles list Robinson at 288, what he weighed at the Combine. Add in his age, 24 and his < 33” arms. He’s viewed like Milton Williams was when he came out. Very athletic but undersized, except height. This recently signed Sykes kid has a similar profile. Neither are quite as fast as Milton but close. So basically, not starters but rather situational DT (much like Williams started his career). So his draft level is pretty much where expected.

Sure, but Williams was pick #73. Robinson was #111. That's a full round plus later. Just interesting that Williams never got this type of hype early in his career.

Nothing the first two weeks of TC means much.

What about franchise records?

Good point. Although I really don’t see why any of us care what he is paid. It doesn’t go against the Salary Cap, so there really are no consequences for it no matter what it is.

Because the person you are arguing with is the same one that thinks that Lurie is cash strapped and that's why he let so many FAs leave this offseason.

Can we all focus on what is important?

Christian Wilkins is a gold digger.

Kicking out a fan for making fun of a player in a half

full arena is crazy. Unless the guy was going on a full on boob tirade they need to get over it.

Quinyon will push for defensive player of the year. Put money on it months ago. He was already an elite CB last year, now he is going to follow other teams #1 WR around the field no matter where they lineup (except in the slot I'd imagine DeJean takes it from there) and he got over the mental wall of interceptions in the playoffs.

The way he locks down WRs if he can get 4-5 interceptions on top of that then he will be in the conversation.

Not even top 20

Lane is the greatest RT to ever play. If he doesn’t get a first ballot induction to the HOF, something is wrong with the voters.

If Coop made 60 then Q surely is on this list, yeah?

Training camp starts tomorrow.

I've learned to ignore what players do in shorts, when the pads go on and the hitting starts, the real players are revealed.

Funny how a lot of guys who ran 4.3+ at the Combine in shorts from a track start, look a lot slower in pads standing up and having to maneuver around defensive players.

Conversely, some slower guys look faster because they have great vision and first step, it's not that they're faster in pads, it's that they slow down less than all the speed merchants.

In two weeks, we'll know who's stepping up and who is legitimately struggling.
