12 Best Right Tackles of All Time

Checkout the list of best right tackles of all time on pro-football-reference.com

Yep, it's good to see the older players not forgotten in this link. The game was different back when they played, no true offseason of OTAs, mini-camps, etc. They simply went to their "other" job...I am fairly certain most players from the older playing days wouldn't be as good as the guys now who absolutely make it a full time job, and perfect the craft.

He may be back for the opener, but the real issue for Dallas is he needed all the training camp reps he could get. Guyton was a project who barely played tackle (on the right side) in college. No one thought he was ready to be a day 1 starter in the NFL, except Jerry. He was bad last year and needs time to develop. If he starts on 9/4 with no TC, it could be ugly.

Play in a soft cast...soft a$$ mfers. Pads went on Sunday now erbody is:

One of the greatest for sure, Willie Roaf, Forrest Gregg, Larry Allen are ahead of him imo...for now. When he hangs'em up he might be better than them.

Allen was a guard, Roaf switched to left tackle after his rookie year and Lane is better, Gregg wouldn’t stand a chance in today’s NFL.

Lane is the greatest RT to ever play the sport.

Great question.

Probably already said, but Allen was a Guard not a RT. His greatness is undisputed, just not as a Tackle.

They had a chance to sign a good one. Hope it doesn't bite them

Man, I don't know who to believe anymore. Some beats say Ainias Smith is really turning a corner, Frank says he hasn't had a good camp. One thing they all agree on though is Elijah Cooks is having a great camp. I didn't realize he was 6-4 215. He brings a whole other dimension with that build.

Good stuff

RB PASS PRO - One of the most intriguing periods was the backs against the inside linebackers in pass protection. Undrafted rookie Montrell Johnson Jr. held up well on reps against Mondon and Lance Dixon. He also did OK against Campbell, who seemed to be favoring his shoulder a bit after a Johnson rep but shook it off.

Trotter and Ben VanSumeren had a heavyweight battle, with the former persevering through a poor technique rep by BVS. Later, VanSumeren corrected it and stoned Trotter, throwing him to the ground. For a moment, it felt like the first fight of camp would break out, but cooler heads prevailed.

Other highlights were Keilan Robinson being forced to hold the ultra-quick Campbell.

Shipley was overwhelmed by Dallas Gant, and Mondon unveiled a nice swim move to blow by A.J. Dillon. Pass protection could be the issue with Shipley elevating to the RB2 role.

Conflicting reports on Mondon. Out with Illness and mentioned in the drills reports. Perhaps he started practice late.

How do you get a concussion in just helmets while wearing a guardian cap?

Thanks.

Fangio doesn't sound thrilled with the additions so far in camp, but didn't sound thrilled last year either for a lot of guys. Hope they don't come to regret letting guys like Slay and CJGJ go. And on the other side, Becton.

Worst comes to worst, they have the picks to add pieces during the season or even during camp. I'd hope they can go into next offseason fully loaded though and it doesn't come to that. 2026 offseason with 13 picks = let Howie cook szn.

I love Lane but…devils advocate here…would you call Barry Bonds the best hitter in baseball history?

He’s not the most disciplined player. All it takes is smacking your head on the ground

Danny Gray Era. TC1 - TC5.

Ted Williams? Cobb, Ruth, Aaron?

I realize that you are using Bonds to make a point (I think).

One of the reasons, if not the major reason Lane played RT, was that one of the greatest LTs to ever play the sport was on the other side.

Gray unfortunately just can not be healthy. But what the hell must have happened to his finger that is making him miss out on a opportunity to compete for a roster spot on a team with some of the worst WR depth in the league? Its a finger. Try to earn a job. Thats disappointing.

Under the circumstances that move makes sense. I wouldn’t be surprised if Howie has him on the Bell Squad for later in the season.

Danny Gray, aka ET finger

We will miss you
