Ted Williams? Cobb, Ruth, Aaron?

I realize that you are using Bonds to make a point (I think).

But the point is elusive. Bonds as power hitter I can understand, but as all-around hitter I’m not there on.

So totally wrong. He’s a very disciplined player. What he is more than anything is violent. Violence leads to collisions, which lead to concussions.

Under the circumstances that move makes sense. I wouldn’t be surprised if Howie has him on the Bell Squad for later in the season.

They will have to cut him and wait for whatever injury designation timeline clears. I doubt he’s getting claimed so he’s going to revert to IR

Might not have been the best choice of the word for the situation but that’s what I meant. He isn’t afraid to violently throw his body around in games so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s just how he plays in shorts and shells too.

Dude is the biggest aura farmer of all time.

I’m not sure why players hold out anymore and pick up $50k fines when they can just show up and still not play

How has Levi's not reached out to Coop?

👏👏👏

It would not surprise me if Ife ends up on the Practice Squad.

Surely possible. There seems to be a few bottom of the depth chart WRs they like. Who they keep at 4, 5 and maybe 6 and who makes the PS seems to be one of the most unknowns at the moment.

Because it would be deemed as a white supremacist ad. Haven't you kept up with SS and American Eagle!

Has there been a Phillies trade over the last 2 decades where they traded a bunch of prospects for an established veteran? I keep seeing theses posts bringing up the Cliff Lee, Hunter Pence and then I saw who they got for Cole Hamels. I don't think the prospects invovlved have ever developed near what we thought.

Howie sure got tossed under the bus by Vic on Jackson. Hufff 2.0? 🤣

Comparing Lane Johnson to Barry Bonds is some ultimate weak sauce.

Bonds' head grew.

Lane got a 4 game suspension for failing a drug test and later got 10 games for taking an NFLPA approved supplement.

Lane admits he took the wrong thing early in his career and claims he was told what he was taking was legal the 2nd time.

Bonds took heavy doses of illegal drugs for at least 5 years straight. He used a company that not only gave athletes drugs, they also provided masking agents to hide the drugs. Bonds lying defense about flaxseed oil is for morons. 🤡 Bonds had to testify in a federal grand jury since he was a criminal caught up in a criminal probe.

Some people take occasional steroids for asthma, I guess they are like Barry Bonds too.

Wowza, well I can't say I blame him if Howie is starting to smell himself and his personnel guys too much. Sounds like Vic is irked and a little tweaked, maybe it brought up an aggravating moment for him this off season and Vic couldn't help himself. Tried to walk it back a little but that cat was out the bag already.

Yeah, lol I love the guy. I seriously don't get why Howie wouldn't ask Vic for his thoughts especially after Huff last year. Now, if it was something like Alexander being cut and Vic was on a beach and there wasn't time, cool. This makes me wonder if he ran the CJ thing by him as well.

He sure sent a message to Jackson to step up, though.

Allen was a guard, Roaf switched to left tackle after his rookie year and Lane is better, Gregg wouldn’t stand a chance in today’s NFL.

Lane is the greatest RT to ever play the sport.

If players today didn't have access to the level of nutrition, offseason training, etc. would they be as good in that day as the players who played back then? Flip it the other way around, how good could Gregg be if he had access to all the advantages of today's athletes? No way to know.

Concrete Charlie, a contemporary of Gregg, was given that name not because of how tough he was, but because his offseason job was selling concrete. I'm sure Gregg also has an offseason job to keep food on his table. Comparing players who were literally part-time athletes to the athletes of today who have nothing to do but stay in shape, train, watch their nutrition and continue to work on their craft is just an unfair comparison to make. Johnson is a gym rat, but he has the luxury of being able to be a gym rat because he doesn't have any other stuff to do in the offseason beyond work on his body and technique.

One of the reasons, if not the major reason Lane played RT, was that one of the greatest LTs to ever play the sport was on the other side.

Demetress Bell?

Maybe it happens more than we know, but I dont hear of too many coordinators getting to act as GMs.

I get Fangio is great, and its a GMs job to get players that fit. But this seems a little much from Fangio....

Not quite. Jackson is getting peanuts on a 1 year deal, with only $500k guaranteed. Huff got a big deal and was the second highest profile signing of last offseason, the highest profile, if you judge based on salary.

Kind of a joke about Howie getting another player Vic won't play

We agree he isn't GM but Howie should also know after last year he won't play guys. There is middle ground where he at least includes him in possible offseason plans by asking his opinion. He seems to have an eye for defensive talent with Hunt. It couldn't hurt but that's just me.
