I know it's just Madden, but this ratings are laughable. Daniels and Hurts shouldn't be separated by 1 rating point, and AJ Brown is a top 3 WR.

Obviously you don’t want to take it to near 0% because stations aren’t as plentiful as gas stations yet, so realistically you could only do a one stop trip with the X or long range model of the 3. And even then, I’m guessing his MIL doesn’t have a charger installed so you don’t want to be rolling in near empty. Also taking it close to 0% is really bad for the battery. But LFP batteries ( which are becoming more common) are better suited for deep discharges. It’s still a good idea to keep the charge between 20% and 80%

And you can’t fill it to 100% either for these trips. Aside from that being bad for your battery as well, charging slows down significantly as you get into the mid to upper 80s. In fact, because of that some stations limit you to 80% to allow for more people to charge each day.

So yeah, two stops makes sense.

Edit: Also, because electric motors don’t have gears, higher speeds drain the battery faster than local stop and go traffic. So they drain more and don’t get the benefit of regenerative braking. So I don’t know if Tesla takes that into account but I’m guessing the highway ranges is significantly lower than advertised.

I got a battery mower two years ago. It made sense given that my yard is tiny and can be done in 15-20 minutes. The plastic mower body won’t rot away and I don’t need to fill a gas can that will mostly go stale before I use it all. I always take the battery out after each use so that it’s not in the elements.
