Phillies are getting to enjoy a home spring training game in May tonight.

It’s kinda cool when weird stuff like this happens. Breaks up the monotony of the season.

What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

Thanks. I'm going to find that box and put something in it.

Thank you @mattwill for the new sig line.

Keep in mind, the two posters he exchanges with the most are you and RTK, so ….. yeah, congrats.

Hopefully Jalyx Hunt continues to improve. He's come on faster than anyone expected.

I’d be surprised if it’s not Rams/Eagles opening night

You want some action on it as well?

Sure. A gift certificate to the winner at a watering hole of his choice.

There is no argument. I said a certain height/arm length doesnt play outside in the NFL. Those guys read that I said "cant" play in the NFL and listed a player who has done it. They read wrong. I didnt say cant. But they kinda helped prove my point about doesnt. Because even though he got stuck there this season out of necessity, and played really well, his team wants to move him back inside anyway. Argument over. No hair up. I said "oy" because both of them made the same mistake misreading the post.

Fair enough. As I said, and it bears repeating, you have been a pleasure to read and dialogue with ever since I took you off Ignore … focusing on content and analysis and collaboration rather than who is right or wrong. We get enough polarization in our regular lives, I for one love the collaboration we have here.

I say every year that the offseason moves steal the show but the second year players really determines if the team improves or regresses.

Im kind of wondering what more could possibly come from Mitchell and Dejean. That’s not a season that you build on. I’d be ecstatic if they could just match their rookie seasons. Sure, they each got beat a few times. A few times. They just don’t exactly have room for improvement.

They were both borderline pro bowlers this year and didn’t make it due to lack of turnovers.

That’s where their improvement can come from: if we can get 7 or 8 turnovers from them, that would put them squarely in the "star” category of players and offset CJGJ’s main contribution.

Also, I’m cautiously very excited about what Ringo can add. He should be an upgrade as run defender right out of the gate over Slay. Can he be the playmaker he was in college? He’s a third year player, but given his age, is probably more like a 2nd year player in terms of his development timeline.

Aside from them, we have 2 safety prospects who can add something — one a third year guy and one a rookie. Can we get one good starter out of them?

LB has the potential to be even better this year. Of Baun keeps up his level of play, Dean comes back into form by mid season, along with the two rookies and Trotter… that’s the best group of talent we’ve had since at least the 90’s. Can they make it all come together?

On the DL, Hunt is the guy we could see take a big step up. He has the talent to be a 10 sack kind of guy. Jordan Davis is older at this point, but if he can add some pass rush to his impact it would go a long way towards earning him an extension. Would only take 4 or 5 sacks from the interior in addition to his run defense.

With the Eagles schedule, how popular they are, how bad some of the league is.....I'd be more surprised if the Eagles don't have like 17 Prime Time games lol

That's the hyper optimistic take. I was with you until you mentioned Dean. Dean coming back to form is likely not happening this season, if ever. That injury was a rough one. If he can even dress this season that would be something, but his form likely would take longer.

There are rumblings that the Cowboys are trading for Pickens today.

Are these rumblings more reliable than the AJ Brown to NE rumblings?

Yeah… everyone is reporting it now — Schefter and Rapoport and Schultz.

It’s for a 2026 third round pick and a late pick swap.

It will be fun to see Pickens in the division.

Big move by Dallas. Pickens is in the final year of his deal. Hopefully they can Dallas that whole situation.

That’s pricey enough that they’ll want to keep him long-term… I wonder how Pickens will respond to being tagged🤯

I think Pickens' personality with a horrible GM like Jones and Dallas' yearly underachieving is going to be gold. I don't expect things to end well and it will be fun to watch.

That doesn't bother me at all. Pickens is overrated to my eyes. Maybe I don't see enough Steelers games to have a more informed opinion, but this doesn't move the needle for Dallas, IMO.

The most Dallas thing would be to announce a big extension for him before he plays a down for the team. Meanwhile, Parsons is still waiting.

Ok matt got into the peyote again…

Pickens will help the Boys. The division didn't get worse this off season. Definitely more talent division wide than last season.
