There was a report that the Steelers had fined Pickens $200K since the start of the 2023 season.

So what would the Eagles big trade be if Howie makes a move? Ramsey, Michael Mayer, Travon Walker, Jermaine Johnson, Thibodeaux, etc.?

Dotson had 2 years of control (not 1) + was a model citizen.

Pickens in a country club? In the same locker room with Micah Parsons? Good luck.

Great trade for the Cowboys. Not sure why the Steelers did that though. Metcalf and Pickens was a nice duo.

The Steelers roster building has been interesting to say the least. Metcalf and Pickens had the potential to be a very good WR1-2 combo. At the very least, they would help whoever they have at QB. Now they have next to nothing. Their offense looks downright bad right now. I guess Rudolph is the starter at QB. The RB room will see Gainwell and Warren share the load, but Kaleb Johnson will be RB1 before the end of the year. He's a good back. At WR, I don't see 4 worth keeping. Most of their depth is at TE even adding Parham as TE3. I'd take any of their TE1-3 on this team instantly. I'd imagine we will see a lot of 2 and maybe 3 TE sets for them. Darnell Washington is 6-7 265, Parham is 6-8 240 along with Warren whos's a Swiss Army Knife kind of guy.

No matter how you look at it though, this offense looks like garbage.

QB- Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, Will Howard.

RB- Kenny Gainwell, Jaylen Warren, Kaleb Johnson, Cordarrelle Patterson

WR- DK Metcalf, Robert Woods, Roman Wilson, Calvin Austin Jr, Scotty Miller? UDFA

TE- Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington, Donald Parham JR

FB/TE- Connor Heyward

He can make the offense better and the locker room worse.

Dotson to the Steelers for Darnell Washington and a 4th.

I expect all of you with young children and grandchildren will be purchasing BG’s ABCs for them.

I like the dynamics of this trade a bit better, as Pickens will be the WR2 on a team that needed an X. We traded for a WR3, that doesn't get looks from the QB or play designs from the coaches and has to be rationalized as injury insurance. Our move seems out of step with the draft pick or low level vet (Olamide Zaccheaus) that is adequate for the role.

I agree with that. They had an extra cheap year (or two, if they wanted to exercise the 5th year option) with Dotson though... and that costs extra.

What a group of former Steeler WRs who have been traded away…

- Antonio Brown

- Martavis Bryant

- Chase Claypool

- Diontae Johnson

- George Pickens

Pickens is pretty good, but this isn’t a needle mover

Well, he’s pretty good and likely makes our two games against them a bit more annoying.

Dallas’ needle is unmovable without a total overhaul, so I agree with you there.

I suspect that after last season’s collapse, they are in rebuild mode. They have the best Comp pick load for next season.

I wouldn't give Florio too much credit, as he's a contrarian... the nation detests the shove, so he's our ally today basking in our reflected hate.

On this one, he's right, but overall, he's eh. He and Simms did a good segment on PFT Live a month or so ago that credit to them, actually went into details on it vs being his usual outrage schtick on this sort of thing.

I doubt we see any major moves by Howie this spring. This season and last season and a bit of next season were always going to include some cap clearing. Next season clears BG, Slay and Bradberry impacts. This season takes Cox and Kelce dead money away. Eagles have one of the youngest teams in the NFL.

So Philly traded the Steelers a 3rd for Pickett but got a 5th back, roughly equating to a 4th rounder in value. We then trade him to the Browns for a 5th and DTR. Did we come out pretty close to even in those swaps? Not even factoring in that we got a game and a half out of him

Probably goes back to Bills I'd say

Santonio Holmes you can add, he was a ne’erdowell at the end and turned into nothing for the Jets

Given he's never been a separation guy, this is notable.

Watched some All22 from last season watching Dotson. The quality of his routes was much better at the end of the season compared to the beginning. He suffered from what I call Fast WR Syndrome. Those WRs with speed that lazy college coaches only teach speed routes. Thus lazy turns instead of cuts, stops of two steps or more, concentration drops etc. His cuts were much crisper towards the end of the season.

This is a contract year for Dotson, so I anticipate he will be better still playing for that second contract but he is still #6 on getting the ball on offense. (In order Saquon, Brown/Smith depending on the other team’s back seven, Hurts, Goedert, Dotson, second RB being either Shipley or Dillon, Wilson/Calcaterra, whoever the #3 TE is or the Ainias Smith spot - spot because I have real doubts it is Smith, who Parris Campbell kind of beat out.)

Our outside CBs are Quinyon and Ringo. I'm not worried about a contested catch WR. I worry about the WRs who can run precise routes with speed (McLaurin, Puka, Flowers)

The needle is unmovable until DAL actually accomplishes something in the postseason. They can make all the moves possible, but until they make a NFCCG the needle is on E.

The Cowboys are a better team now with Pickens than without. If Dak, Lamb, and Parsons stay healthy, they can win on any Sunday. They will be a challenge in 2025.

Burrow. I'm always thinking Allen is going to get injured after trying to break a tackle

Hurts. He is a better QB in the playoffs, and so far the best QB in both of his SB games. It's not really close compared to Allen and Burrow.

Yeah, my quibble isn't so much the price - as I think a quality WR in an offense that passes the ball a lot is worth a 3rd... but we don't pass the ball a lot and we don't distribute targets - so it's a luxury we didn't need (or at least one that doesn't make sense after the first quarter of the season every year).
