DTR isn't very accurate. He overthew the 6'7 Wilson and I don't think even Manute Bol could've caught that one.

Depends on which year of his career we are talking about.

"Red star” players are those who exemplify what it means to be an Eagle—they have great character, leadership (captains), strong testing numbers, high football intelligence, practice and play the right way. - Howie Roseman

Hall and Robinson playing an awful lot of snaps

Some of these DBs are grabbing for no reason. Just bad work by them.

I guess you guys forgot what was shown on video and what else Howie said. He said on day 3 he lets his scouts put out a high conviction name that is labeled their red star player. They make their pitch to the room, and the eagles see how many of those guys they can get.

There may be various reasons why those guys would be red star players for the scouts, and of course intangibles are big in evaluations...

You can actually watch video of the scouts putting their name on guys. It has been published by the eagles media department in the behind the scenes draft room videos.

We know for sure that the Eagles drafted five red star players in 2024 and three of them are Shipley, Keegan and Trotter Jr. the video did call Smith a passion player but not specifically a red star. Howie says they typically have about 10 of them a year.

He turns 35 this year. They gave him a 2-year contract that runs through 2027. He's a stop gap QB. McKee could be their franchise QB.

Ok, could do that then. Wilson has been underwhelming so far though, guess you could consider it and have the internal discussions to see if they think they could pluck Wilson before he explodes or if he is just a dud. If they come away thinking he's a dud I'm not really seeing much else to grab off that roster.

I hope we get to see McCord on this drive.

Nickerson ready to let the prince climb the tower with that hair

No, those are the necessary qualities of a red star player according to Howie Roseman.

You could pound the table for some athletic freak a scout loves, but he wouldn’t be a read star player without the intangibles.

Howie listed the qualities. It’s not up for a debate or opinion. He said what a red star player is and it’s exactly what I said it was. The only non intangible is testing numbers, which basically means they have a minimum threshold of athleticism.

You’re just wrong here my guy. Accept it and move on.

Here. You can watch Howie speak on video and say its a chance for the scout to stand on the table for his guy. Its odd you dont think a scout would bang the table for a high intangible guy. But Howie in this video says it can be performance or mentality. And you can see the individual scouts naming their guys. So as I said, Ainias Smith is not necessarily a high conviction Howie pick.

Silly guy...

APR showed a great dip move and speed off the edge. Didn't get there, but he jumped off the screen to me.

The eagles dont seem to draft players that lack intangibles. Im not sure what would separate a "passion player" from red star. It sounds synonymous since the scouts have to be passionate about their red star picks.

Keegan at C.

McCord at QB.

The Eagles almost never look good in preseason. This is a whole new level of team.

Hinton with back to back penalties. Tough night for him. Looking at him out there... he has a very similar build to Bernard Williams. IYKYK.

Hinton is poo

Nice block by Cam Williams at RT on that run.

That was ugly.

That was an unfortunate turn of events.

Robinson and Powell have NFL burst.

Good news for Hinton is that he's got no where to go from here but up.

Meanwhile only a day or two ago there were reports that he was looking like one of the better back up linemen.

If they are getting their QB i'd have to think he wouldn't be off limits.

Glad he switched to his college number 52. It was a good series from him.

Literally the first thing I've heard about him all camp. I was a fan and perplexed there wasn't a whisper about him that I could find since camp started.
