One thing not discussed much is I don't really think they like DeJean on the outside. I know people will say he's more valuable where he is but I tend to think if they projected him outside or liked what they saw when he got snaps there in OTAs that they'd be giving him more looks there

Regarding your last question, for Fangio and all the coaches the Preseason games are like the first 15 snaps of a regular season game … designed to learn as opposed to trying to maximize scoring. Fangio no doubt started Mondon to learn and to help Mondon learn.

Shouldn't he want Campbell to learn against first team offenses given that's who he'll likely be playing against in the regular season, unlike Mondon?

And if not, why not start the lower teams guys at other positions? Why not start the lower tier CBs or lower tier DL or Safeties?

I'd be reluctant to be suspect at QB2 while trying to defend our title. Hurts is going to miss some time - he carries the ball to often to think he won't.

I would prefer to wait until March. There will be teams without any solutions at QB and may not be in the draft position to solve it in the first round. For me, a conditional second that can turn into a 2027 first would be great.

That would be the ideal scenario. But in all reality, a team isn't offering a 1 for Tanner McKee. If for whatever reason a team decides to do so out of desperation, it's an expiring offer you would need to either jump on or be comfortable likely getting less return down the line. I would prioritize maiming the return.

I was hoping to see something more out of Cooper based on the reaction in here and his stat line. He doesn’t look fast, doesn’t seem to have much burst or wiggle. With an odd body type, maybe he would benefit from dropping like 10 pounds. Doesn’t need to be 210 at his height.

Regarding speed in a WR it needs to be smart speed. Lots of fast receivers use that speed to run into coverage. Cooper showed smart speed, running away from coverage rather than into it. Cooper showed smart speed last night.

I get the sense that your and manu's impression of Cooper is somewhere between Paul Turner and Jason Avant. I think he is probably a different player- potentially a better playmaker than that. I was watching wondering if we could have a Diontae Johnson on our hands.

Diontae Johnson when he isn’t acting crazy is one of the best separators in the NFL but has issues with drops. I don’t see that at all with Cooper. I don’t have a great comp for him because his play style and weird body style. I went back and read his scouting report on NFL.com and it kinda backed up my thoughts. Didn’t really separate in college either. Relied on contested catches.

I don't agree with Cooper not having juice at all. He may not have elite top end straight line speed, but he looks like a guy who will get consistent separation to me. Fluid, smooth, sudden mover. Good short yardage burst and explosiveness. Runs good routes. He's gotten open all camp and was open every play last night. The dude looks built in a factory to run slants, drags, and potentially comebacks to try to get YAC since he seems to stop and go really well. I think his NFL route tree should be a lot of middle stuff. Which makes me wonder how he'll mesh with Hurts who doesn't throw a lot of middle stuff.

So Baldy is saying he's the new Jamar Chaney? LOL

Cooper plays like Deebo-lite.

He's just a rookie, it's one game, preseason, all that stuff aside.

Mondon was pretty underwhelming for all the hype he was getting this TC.

7v7 drills the guy is going to be a beast - in real action, he's got to shed and tackle at 220lbs.

Has that body type, I was thinking that as well.

I'll wait to see how they do against #2 WRs. Chase and Burrow routinely smoke the best CBs on teams. Very few can can cover Chase.

Jackson was getting cooked by some white dude. Re-watch the game if you get a chance. He stinks

I don’t pretend to know enough to question Fangio. He has forgotten more than I will ever know.

I wonder if Ringo's confidence took a shot after the Bennett trade.

If that's all it takes to shake his confidence, then he has no future at CB in the NFL.

This. He looked tentative as hell.

Is Patrick Johnson the best Eagles preseason player of all time?

The play Ringo got beat on are the exact type of plays I said at the time during the draft that I was worried about him from watching him in college, since Georgia is on practically every weekend. He is not a good lateral mover, and he's not fluid. I actually don't think he sold out on that play as much as it looked like initially. I think a slow twitch CB just got beat by a quick twitch WR. I think Ringo will have more success with WRs like Mike Evans, Keon Coleman, Odunze, Drake London, etc. Bigger guys, straight line speed guys, or possession type guys who are great vertically and aren't sharp cutters. But unfortunately WRs in this division like Lamb, McLaurin, Nabers are the fast, quick twitch types.

I don't know why they let Rodgers go. He was good insurance in case. But I don't think Howie would have unless Fangio vouched for Ringo.

Jackson also gave up this that doesn't show up on the stat sheet

Lamb, McLaurin and Nabers will be covered by Q.

Based on some of the pics/videos out of their camp Deebo should try to play more like Deebo-Light

Last year when hurts didn't play and McKee balled in a regular season game.

A lot of the time he will. But can't control that on every play. And that's only a few WRs In named. There will be WRs Ringo will have to cover this season who are quick twitch.

He makes me think of Steve Smith although he's a bit taller.
