Bo said the Browns and Saints tried to trade for McKee.

i feel like either one should trade for McKee. Particularly saints with Moore. at this point they are set up to fail this year. So kind of think they both just let the season play out then circle back to McKee next offseason as they know their 2026 pick and can scouting incoming Qb prospects then decide McKee or rookie Qb.

That said i think a sleeper team in this could be the rams. Stafford is already having issues this year. And he could step in now and win with that roster. But the rams could move on or Stafford could retire after this year

Howard Mudd.

Yeah, popped into my head a half hour later. Age.

Funny how two coaches with very different styles ended up with similar centers.

Shipley could start for a lot of teams, explosive burst, reminds me of Charlie Garner but more physical, doesn't bounce it outside, willing to put his head down and grind when there's no hole.

DIllon looked like he's 100%, no sure he's got the first step to start, but a solid change of pace who looked natural catching the ball.

An interesting name though, I only see it in terms of size. I can't recall Garner ever being caught from behind, but it happens frequently to Shipley when he breaks a long one.

Nate is the best Training Camp player but stunk in the games. Patrick Johnson makes actual plays during the games.

True. But legends often are loose with the facts.

I'm not sure that's a fair description of Howard Mudd. He was was a strong proponent for Kelce being the starter just after a few practices despite being a 6th round pick with an established center on the roster. Kelce told the story a few times that Mudd told Howie directly that Jason was going to be the starter.

Is Patrick Johnson the best Eagles preseason player of all time?

How quickly we forget the great Henry Josey..

This may simply reflect that the game is faster, you don't see many 250 lb MLBs any more or safeties running 4.6.

Where I see the similarity is the one cut/explode through the hole.

One name I skipped was Ricks, really disappointing, a PI then on the pass he broke up, should have been another PI. If you can't run fast, you have to be quick to the ball and time it right.

The 4-2-5 struggled to stop the run, not surprising give how undersized it was with Hall and Robinson at DT and two undersized edges. Hall was more physical than I expected, not sure he's a good enough pass rusher to ever start, but can rotate in and hold his own. Robinson flashed a little but needs to get stronger. Sykes showed well, and I want to see more of Evans at NT, looked OK when they went to their 5-2 set.

The bottom line on "struggled to stop the run” was 57 total rushing yards on 19 carries. I’ll take that any day.

This is the football version of what it’s like most nights watching max kepler hit

His body type and movement reminds me of Chris chambers, about 5'11" but long arms, pretty muscular.

Hopefully moore can keep improving and showing out

Moore?

Yes, Chris Chanbers was also 5'11" 210

That's a bit generous. He mostly tries to hit.

That's the kind of hole that Barkley scores on. Shipley did well, but even I could have gotten 20 yards on that play! lol Well, maybe only 15.

Think we make a run at any of these 3?

Maybe take a flyer on the Gilmore girl

In order of those Smith>Gilmore>Simmons. I don't think Simmons has much left. And I think if the Eagles wanted him, they'd have long signed him.

James Bradberry is still out there

None of them are happening

Frankly could’ve gotten someone better than Gronk for that panel. Tbh i actually think Brady in that role would be better than his color commentator role

So, here are some thoughts after last night. Overall -- watching our backup offense march down the field twice against the Bengals' starters was very encouraging (even if the Bengals defense is terrible). Burrow lighting up our backup D wasn't shocking, but obviously Ringo and Jackson were concerning.

QB: Mckee could start for a handful of teams, and this is the best I've felt about QB2 since 2018. There's really nothing other than a 1st rounder I would take for him, as we have to anticipate Hurts' style of play could lead to him missing time. DTR is what he is...couple nice throws, a few WTF plays. McCord is a rookie, but that wasn't encouraging. I still think they keep McCord on the 53 and try and sneak DTR to the PS, but it's not a lock anymore.

RB: Shipley showed some nice burst, and maybe I'm being nitpicky, but I was a little disappointed he didn't take that long run to the house (maybe I've been spoiled by Barkley). I thought Dillon looked great and answered health questions while also catching the ball well. Those 2 and Barkley will make a nice RB room. Powell showed some juice and can be on the PS.

WR: Johnny Wilson can catch? Who knew. And I liked the toughness and route running from Cooper. Other than that, no one really stood out. I just don't see it with A. Smith, despite the TD grab.

TE: I seriously didn't notice any of them, other than Calcaterra's drop. I really think we carry 2 on he 53, and TE3 is on the PS.

OL: Steen passed the test and shouldn't play again this PS. Liked what I saw from Pryor, but he's a vet so that makes sense. Really, the whole 2nd team line was good -- Lamm, Kendall, Kinnard. Hinton was the disappointment IMO. Based on camp reports, I expected a lot more out of him.

DL: Robinson was good, not great. And Gabe Hall can take on the Booker role. But man...Ojulari and Uche were invisible. That was the second most disappointing thing about the night -- I was hoping one of them would show something. I have always liked Johnson -- great on special teams, makes some plays. He won't make the 53, but would love him to sneak thru to the PS. All in all, the lack of pressure was disappointing -- kinda proves how much Carter opens it up for everyone else.

LB: Trotter can play. Mondon needs time. And Campbell showed flashes. But starting to think Trotter is out there with Baun week 1.

CB: Well...damn. I have been a Ringo fan, but that was brutal. I get it -- that was Chase, and Vic gave them no help. But man he looked stiff and slow. Jackson was better, but that's like being valedictorian of summer school. I am now a much bigger fan of trading for Bennett...his stock skyrocketed by not playing. Catsro-Fields on the PS would be nice.

S: Brown...I really want to like him. He flies to the ball, then throws his body in there and doesn't make the tackle. If he could just learn to tackle under control, he could be a good player. Andre Sam might have a chance to stick on the roster over McCollum.

Also, with the usual it's only preseason qualifier, nice opening performance as play caller for Patullo.
